Joel Embiid

Philadelphia 76ers

Stud That Is Too Cheap

It’s hard for me to fade Embiid at this price. This is a must win game for the Sixers and I expect Embiid to show up big at home. $9500 is just too cheap and on FanDuel he is priced fair at $10000 but it helps fill a tough position. I think Embiid has a big game tonight and he is a great cash game play.

Kevin Love

Utah Jazz

This Series Made For Love

Kevin Love playing Center in this series is pure DFS gold. Jonas can’t cover the 3-point line meaning Love will get open looks all day long and at this reduced tag it’s hard to not lock button Love in my lineups.

J.J. Redick

Dallas Mavericks
5/05/18, 7:46 AM ET

A Great Mid-Range Cash Game Play

We know what we are going to get with Redick at this point. He is going to play minutes in the mid-30’s, he is going to take a lot of three pointers, and he is probably going to score somewhere around 30 fantasy points. That stability has value in cash games, especially on a short slate, and it’s enough to make him a solid core play in a game that the Sixers desperately need to win.

LeBron James

Philadelphia 76ers
5/05/18, 7:44 AM ET

The King Stands Alone

Let’s keep this one simple. Does this need any explaining at this point? The guy is an absolute machine and has an infinitely higher floor and a higher ceiling than anyone else on the board. Jam him in wherever you can.

Jonas Valanciunas

Denver Nuggets
5/05/18, 7:44 AM ET

A Mid-Range Play Trending in the Right Direction

DFS players (myself included) are often reluctant to play Valanciunas. There’s always a fear that the minutes aren’t going to be there for him. However, he looks great right now and has been a mismatch that has posed a problem for Cleveland’s defense. He has posted two massive double-doubles in this series despite Toronto losing both games, and the minutes are much higher than we saw in the regular season. The point per minute production has always been there, and now the secure minutes are enough to make him a great DFS option.

Fred VanVleet

Houston Rockets
5/05/18, 7:42 AM ET

A Value Piece as a Way to Fit LeBron

VanVleet is nothing groundbreaking from a DFS perspective, but it’s clear that he deserves minutes as the third guard in this Toronto rotation. He played well with 14 points and four assists in Game 2, and Serge Ibaka played less than 15 minutes in that game. VanVleet should continue to see more minutes as this series goes along, and he remains dirt cheap for DFS purposes. Value is hard to come by on these slates, and FVV is a nice source of salary relief.

Stephen Curry

Golden State Warriors
5/04/18, 8:05 PM ET

Stephen Curry will start Friday, Nick Young to the bench

As expected Stephen Curry will re-enter the starting lineup for tonight’s game 3 versus the Pelicans. In game 2, Curry came off the bench, and finished with 28 points in 27 minutes of action. Look for Curry to get back into the 33-36 minute range tonight. With Curry starting, Nick Young is a non factor for the Warriors.

Rajon Rondo

Cleveland Cavaliers
5/04/18, 11:34 AM ET

This Point Guard Loves the Playoffs

Rajon Rondo is made for the postseason. He’s always been a solid per-minute producer, but he struggles to stay motivated during the regular season. He has always played his best in the playoffs, even dating back to his days with the Celtics. When you add in the additional playing time that he’s seeing, he’s a tough fade in any format. Dollar for dollar, he’s right there with Stephen Curry as my favorite point guard of the slate.

Jae Crowder

Sacramento Kings
5/04/18, 11:32 AM ET

High Floor at Power Forward

Jae Crowder wasn’t a great fit for the Cavaliers, but he’s perfect for the Jazz. He’s tough and he’s a veteran, which really helps a lot of these young players. He’s taken on a much bigger role with Ricky Rubio out of the lineup. In the first two games of this series, he has scored 33 and 28 fantasy points, playing at least 32 minutes in each game. Not only does he see a boost with Rubio out, but this is a bad matchup for Derrick Favors, which leads to even more playing time for Crowder.

Stephen Curry

Golden State Warriors
5/04/18, 11:28 AM ET

Similar Price Point, Higher Minute Projection

Curry showed no signs of rust in Game 2, scoring 45 fantasy points in 27 minutes of action. He made five three-pointers in his stint off the bench. It sounds like he’ll be back in the starting lineup tonight, so we should expect him to see his usual allotment of minutes (32-34). If that’s the case, he’s a tremendous play at this price point. The Pelicans are the worst offense remaining in the playoffs, as they were ranked 29th in points allowed per game during the regular season.

E'Twaun Moore

Orlando Magic
5/04/18, 10:28 AM ET

Top Value of the Night

We don’t have much value on these short playoff slates, but E’Twaun Moore always seems to stick in this same price range. His minutes were up in Game 2 because the game was close the whole way, and we should expect a similar allotment in Game 3. Moore is capable of scoring when asked, and the Warriors will obviously focus more defensive attention on Holiday and Davis. We certainly need salary relief, and Moore is easily my favorite value selection tonight.

Draymond Green

Golden State Warriors
5/04/18, 10:26 AM ET

A Great Fit for an Up Tempo Series

This series between the Warriors and Pelicans will continue to be a fantasy goldmine as long as the games are competitive. Green’s ability to contribute in all areas of the stat sheet is a huge bonus, and he has posted top-end production in each of the first two games of the series so far. He logged a triple-double in Game 1 and was one rebound short in Game 2. I think he keeps that string going tonight with yet another triple-double, and he comes a bit cheaper than the other studs on the slate.

Joe Ingles

Minnesota Timberwolves
5/04/18, 10:25 AM ET

Silently Emerging as a Great Mid-Range Option

Ingles sets up well with the nature of this matchup and has posted 30+ fantasy points in each of the first two games of this series. Ingles is a better overall player than a lot of people like to give him credit for, too. Sure, he’s not the sexiest DFS name out there, but the minutes are secure and he has a healthy role in this offense. In this pivotal Game 3 matchup, Ingles is a great mid-range play in all DFS formats. He will need to knock down some shots and be a complement to Donovan Mitchell if the Jazz want to take the series lead.

Draymond Green

Golden State Warriors
5/04/18, 9:45 AM ET

Minutes, Minutes, Minutes

I love that Kerr is playing his horses this many minutes. Just like with KD, Draymond has been between 40-42 in the past three competitive games. It is no secret as to why, as he is their best chance to slow down AD. Coming off of two days of rest with a tight spread on the road for Game 3, I love Draymond in all formats tonight. The price tag on DK ($8,200) is borderline worthy of the lock button.

E'Twaun Moore

Orlando Magic
5/04/18, 9:42 AM ET

Cheap And In The Best Game Environment

We are going to want as much exposure to the Warriors vs. Pelicans game that we can get. The total in that game is about 23 points higher than the Houston vs. Utah game, so we will just flat out see way more possessions. I like E’Twaun Moore as an affordable way to get exposure to the Pelicans side. The price tag on FD is at $4,500 and at $4,100 on DK. In a competitive Game 2, he saw the minutes get up to almost 36. They need his shooting out there to space the floor, so I suspect he sees around the same amount of minutes tonight. Coming back home to New Orleans for Game 3, he is one of my favorite salary relief plays on the slate tonight.
