Josh Richardson

Detroit Pistons

Josh Richardson will start Tuesday

Josh Richardson will play in tonight’s game 5 versus the 76ers. He was listed questionable with a shoulder injury he suffered in the last game. He’s a risky DFS play tonight, because it sounds like he isn’t 100 %. With Richardson playing, it hurts the value of Wayne Ellington and Rodney McGruder.

Marcus Smart

Marcus Smart will play Tuesday

The Celtics will get back Marcus Smart tonight for game 5 versus the Bucks. Smart hasn’t played since March 11th, with a thumb injury. Look for Smart to see somewhere between 22-26 minutes tonight, Brad Stevens hasn’t indicated any type of minutes limit for Smart. Shane Larkin will likely be out of the rotation.

Josh Richardson said there’s a “60 % chance” he plays Tuesday

Josh Richardson is questionable for tonight’s game 5 versus the 76ers. He hurt his shoulder in game 4, but was still able to finish the game. Richardson participated in shoot-around this morning, and afterwards he said there’s a 60 percent chance he will play tonight. If he’s unable to go tonight, Wayne Ellington and Rodney McGruder will both see an uptick in minutes.

John Henson

New York Knicks

John Henson ruled out Tuesday

The Bucks will be without John Henson for a third straight game. Henson is dealing with back issues. Although, Tyler Zeller is starting, the biggest beneficiary without Henson has been Thon Maker. In games 3 and 4, Maker finished with 25.9 & 38 FDP. Last game he saw 30 minutes of action. Jabari Parker also sees an extra couple minutes without Henson.

Marcus Morris

New York Knicks
4/24/18, 11:19 AM ET

Sneaky Play at Power Forward

Marcus Morris isn’t the most consistent player around, but he feeds off emotion. This is evident in his game logs in this series. In the two games in Boston with the home crowd at his back, he scored 29 and 28 fantasy points. In the two games in Milwaukee, he was held to 9 and 17 fantasy points. The series heads back to Boston for Game 5, so look for Morris to bounce back at low ownership.

Klay Thompson

Dallas Mavericks
4/24/18, 11:17 AM ET

One of the Top Point Per Dollar Options on the Board

I always hesitate taking shooters in DFS that don’t offer much in terms of peripheral stats. While I generlaly don’t have a lot of exposure to Klay Thompson, he has been playing 40+ minutes a game in this series. He has taken 16, 16, and 20 shots in the last three games and his price has come down to $6,500 on both FanDuel and DraftKings. All it takes is one good shooting performance from Klay to exceed value at this price point.

Robert Covington

Philadelphia 76ers
4/24/18, 11:16 AM ET

No More Foul Trouble

Robert Covington’s minutes and fantasy production in the series don’t look great as a whole, but he’s been in foul trouble in each of the last two games. He’s capable of playing 35+ minutes in tonight’s close-out game and he fills up all areas of the stat sheet. I will gladly take the discount in price and ownership. During the regular season, he averaged 0.89 fantasy points per minute.

Joel Embiid

Philadelphia 76ers
4/24/18, 10:22 AM ET

Ready to Put the Exclamation Mark on the Series

We haven’t seen a big time Embiid game since he returned, but this could be just the spot for that. I think he comes out and makes a statement tonight as the Sixers put away the Heat in five games. There’s a little feud between Embiid and Hassan Whiteside, remember. I love his potential upside this evening and he will be a key cog of my lineups. The price tag is more than fair for his potential, and the minutes look to be secure as long as the game stays close. Embiid is my top GPP play tonight, especially on DraftKings since Giannis will be mega-chalk over there.

Jabari Parker

Boston Celtics
4/24/18, 10:16 AM ET

Risky Playing Time, But Appealing Upside

I’m not sure why Jabari Parker wasn’t trusted in the first few games of this series. He barely played in those games, and Milwaukee lost both of them. Parker has played extensively in the last two games, and Milwaukee won both of them. That’s not entirely a coincidence. Parker was very aggressive in the last game with 16 points, seven rebounds, two steals, and three blocks in 25 minutes. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him top 30 minutes tonight, especially if Henson is still out. There’s still some cash game risk here, but I love the GPP upside.

Goran Dragic

Milwaukee Bucks
4/24/18, 10:14 AM ET

GPP Upside at Point Guard

The point guard position is surprisingly thin on this three game Wednesday slate, and Dragic probably brings the best point-per-dollar potential to the table. He is still very affordable on every DFS site, and we saw his minutes trend up in the last game. He also took 19 shot attempts in that one, and he should be relied upon offensively with the Heat facing elimination here. As long as this game stays close, I would expect another 35-38 minutes, and he has scored at least 20 actual points in three straight games in this series. Hopefully he can add some ancillary stats tonight to fill up his DFS line.

A Good Mid Tier Play In Cash Games On DraftKings

Dragic is one of my favorite mid tier plays for cash game on DK/FDRFT on this three-game slate. The floor is pretty safe if he gets his 30 or so minutes, and you have a ton of room up on those minutes if they get ramped up again like we saw in Game 4 (37 minutes). He is never one of my favorite guys to roster in tournaments, so it is probably best to take an underweight approach there. But as far as cash games go, he would be one of the first guys I am looking at in this tier.

Thon Maker

Houston Rockets
4/24/18, 10:11 AM ET

Top Value Play if Henson is Out

Keep an eye on the status of John Henson tonight. If he remains sidelined with his back injury, Maker is clearly the top value pick this evening. He played 31 minutes in Milwaukee’s big Game 4 victory, and he was key on the defensive end with five blocks in that game. If Henson is out, fire up Maker with confidence in all formats.

Wait, He Is How Cheap On DraftKings?

We might have to go back to when Giannis was playing in Greece to see a price tag this cheap. Okay, that is probably an exaggeration (and they didn’t have EuroLeague DFS back then), but $9,900 on DK is insanely cheap. You can make the case he deserved a price dip after his last two games, but the floor is just way too high to not be playing him in cash games. And obviously he is in play in tournaments too. It’s Giannis; we know the ceiling this guy has any time he takes the court. It would be tough for me to not hit the lock button on him tonight.

Ben Simmons

LA Clippers
4/24/18, 10:06 AM ET

My Favorite Stud On FanDuel

I don’t see how we aren’t just locking in Simmons on FanDuel every slate he is on. It doesn’t get much more consistent than what he has shown in his playoffs debut in Round 1. He has been anywhere from 49-52 FanDuel points in each of the first four games. And the minutes have ramped up big time in the past three games: 39, 40, and 39. He is a lock for me in cash games on this three-game slate.

James Johnson

Indiana Pacers

Tons Of Minutes At A Mid Tier Price Tag

In the past three games, JJ has played 36, 31, and 35 minutes. With him getting about 1.0 FanDuel points per minute this season, that leaves him just too cheap on FanDuel at only $6,100. He should be a staple if you are playing cash games on this three-game slate, and there is still plenty of profit potential at this price tag if you want to load up on him in tournaments as well. I don’t mind him in cash games on DK/FDRFT as well as a part of balanced lineup builds.
