Rudy Gay (shoulder) will play on Thursday

Rudy Gay will be playing tonight against the Mavs and will likely regain his starting position. Gay’s return diminishes Omri Casspi’s value, who is now a tournament option only. Gay will be an under-owned pick and could be worth a late swap on the four-game slate.

Dante Cunningham (knee) confirmed as the starter tonight

Dante Cunningham will be starting tonight after hyperextending his knee last night. Cunningham played well against the Rockets but faces the Spurs tonight. Cunningham is a low-end play but does have some value with his $3,500 salary on both major sites.

Rajon Rondo confirmed as the starter tonight

Rajon Rondo will be starting tonight even though he is dealing with a toe injury. Rondo should be considered an elite option on a four-game slate. Rondo will be facing his former team and should play well after picking up 17 assists last night. Rondo played 41 minutes and also chipped in with six points in that game.

Josh Richardson may help you roster multiple high-end players tonight

As we can see in our Trending Stats page (linked below), Richardson has seen an increase of 13.7 minutes over the past week (he’s averaging 14.7 MPG on the season, 27.33 over the last week) and with the Heat expected to control this game (they are 14 point favorites), he may benefit from a potential blowout. The Heat’s rotation has shrunk since Joe Johnson was brought on, which has led to Gerald Green being a DNP-CD over the last few contests. Richardson has clearly passed him in the pecking order and 28-32 minutes from him tonight at 3.5K on DraftKings could go a long way in allowing you to roster a combination of Curry, Westbrook, Durant and Cousins. The Suns have allowed the 2nd most FPs to the SG position which also works in Richardson’s favor.

Dante Cunningham will try to play on Thursday

Dante Cunningham will try to play through a knee injury tonight. Cunningham will go through warmups before officially deciding his status. Look for a status update soon on the Pelicans starting small forward.

Chase Budinger to be waived as Ty Lawson agrees to deal with the Pacers

Chase Budinger will be waived on Saturday to open up a roster spot for Ty Lawson. Lawson has agreed to a deal with the Pacers and will be eligible for the playoffs. Lawson will be a volatile DFS option for the rest of the season with random games of exceeding value.

Goran Dragic has been the biggest beneficiary with Chris Bosh out

With Chris Bosh out indefinitely because of blood clots, Goran Dragic has surprisingly been the player to pick up the slack in his absence. Dragic has seen a resurgence lately and gets a great matchup vs. the Suns tonight. The Suns are one of the worst teams in the league and their defense is even worse, and with a line of 13.5 this one will probably be over by the end of the third quarter. Dragic isn’t necessarily a recommended cash play, but if the Suns were to keep this one close then he could be a great GPP option. Dragic is averaging over 37 DK points in the last seven games and has a pretty high ceiling again tonight. He hit over 45 DK points against the Wizards and the Hawks a couple weeks ago, and it isn’t unreasonable that he hits that threshold again tonight. He has a great matchup and while a lot of people will be spending up for Steph Curry or Russell Westbrook, rostering Goran Dragic is a great way to differentiate your lineup tonight.

Klay Thompson is a great way to get exposure to the Warriors lineup

For a short four game slate tonight, there is definitely no shortage of superstars to pay up for. With Steph Curry, Russell Westbrook, Kevin Durant, DeMarcus Cousins, and Anthony Davis all in action tonight, you will need to find some cheaper options to fit some of these guys into your lineup. While Klay Thompson isn’t necessarily cheap, he is significantly discounted from the guys listed above. He also gives you exposure to this Warriors-Thunder matchup tonight, and we saw last weekend why we want to have a lot of exposure to the star players in this game. Thompson has also been on fire lately scoring 25+ real life points in five of his last six games including 32 last weekend vs. the Thunder. While he is very scoring dependent, he can be penciled in for at least 25 real-life points again tonight which gives him a pretty high floor especially on DraftKings with their three-point bonus. He is a top option on the board tonight at SG and at a bit of a discount from the others, you may be able to fit another higher-priced player into your lineups on this star-studded night.

Zaza Pachulia is a viable GPP play at center

Zaza Pachulia’s price has dropped quite a bit lately and he now sits at $5,400 on both sites. He has been pretty inconsistent, but that is because he has been in some pretty bad matchups and the Mavericks have played against teams that love to play small. Coach Rick Carlisle has a problem running Pachulia out there when there isn’t another big man on the court, and that is why we see some games where he plays 20 minutes or less. However, when teams play big, Pachulia sees a lot more court time and in turn a lot more production. The Kings have no shortage of big men with DeMarcus Cousins, Willie Cauley-Stein, Kosta Koufos, and even Quincy Acy seeing the floor a lot lately. Pachulia shouldn’t have a problem with the Kings going small against the Mavs, and in turn should see the floor a lot tonight. It also helps that the Kings play at one of the fastest paces in the league and there will likely be a lot of missed shots, playing right into the hands of Pachulia’s skills on the glass. If you need a cheap GPP center, Pachulia is a great option at his price because of the upside he has in this matchup.

Jordan Clarkson (knee) and Kobe Bryant (shoulder) are both questionable for Friday

Both Jordan Clarkson and Kobe Bryant are questionable for Friday’s game against the Hawks. Clarkson and Bryant were not able to finish Wednesday’s game aginst the Nuggets. Clarkson is dealing with a strained tendon in his knee while Bryant is bothered by a sore shoulder. D’Angelo Russell would be an elite option and a lock for cash games if both players miss.

Alexis Ajinca is out tonight with a fractured sternum

Alexis Ajinca will miss tonight’s game after he suffered a fractured sternum during the fourth quarter of last night’s game. Ajinca came off the bench while Kendrick Perkins started Wednesday’s game. Look for Perkins to start again but he is an extremely low-end option. Anthony Davis should see more time at center while Ryan Anderson fills in at power forward on Thursday.

The Nuggets have picked up guard-forward Alex Toupane on a 10-day contract from the D-League. Toupane is not in the available players list for Friday and will be a minimum salaried player when he is added. With the Nuggets considering shutting down injured Danilo Gallinari, Toupane could see some minutes behind JaKarr Sampson and Gary Harris.

Manu Ginobili officially ruled out for tonight

Manu Ginobili has been ruled out of tonight’s contest with the Pelicans but is expected back next week. Ginobili has missed eleven February games with testicular surgery and is ahead of schedule to return. Ginobili has played over 26 minutes in only one game this season and he will likely be eased back into the rotation. He has been a strict tournament option due to his volatile play this season and has only exceeded value in 16 of 42 games.

Dante Cunningham (knee) questionable for Thursday

Dante Cunningham is being listed as questionable for tonight’s game against the Spurs. Cunningham played 29 minutes last night and had 16 points, his highest-scoring output of the season. He ended the night with 21.8 DKFP for a value of 6.2x. If Cunningham misses the game, Alonzo Gee will most likely replace him in the starting lineup. Gee is a low-end DFS play on Thursday but is a viable option due to only four games being on the slate. Gee is only in consideration for low dollar tournaments as he does not possess huge upside.

Rajon Rondo, Rudy Gay listed as questionable for tonight

Rajon Rondo and Rudy Gay are both listed as questionable for tonight’s game with the Mavericks. Rondo has made it through each of the past two games unscathed and figures to be closer to probable than questionable at this point. He’s a fine GPP target to stack up with DeMarcus Cousins, but Westbrook and Curry will both be far more popular plays – if you are looking to pivot off the OKC/GS game, the SAC/DAL tilt could also be close and high scoring. Rudy Gay has been upgraded to questionable and he seems much more iffy to actually suit up compared to Rondo; if Gay isn’t able to play, both DeMarcus Cousins and Omri Casspi will get value bumps.
