On Tuesday night, the American League and National League will play the 95th Midsummer Classic. First pitch is scheduled for 8:00 PM ET on FOX from Truist Park in Atlanta, GA – the first time the All-Star Game has been in Atlanta since the Braves opened their new ballpark in 2017.

Ahead of tonight’s action, oddsmakers have priced the National League as -116 favorites on the moneyline, with Paul Skenes listed as their scheduled starter. The total for this game is set at over/under 7 runs.

Let’s take a deeper look at MLB odds to see where baseball bettors can find value for tonight’s 2025 MLB All-Star Game.

American League Preview

Tigers pitcher Skubal

Skubal to toe the rubber for American League

Fresh off of an American League Cy Young award and Triple Crown season in 2024, Tarik Skubal will add another accolade to his résumé when he starts the All-Star Game for the American League. Skubal has arguably been the best pitcher in all of baseball of late, turning in a 1.61 ERA across his final 9 turns through the rotation heading into the break.

Behind him, the American League has plenty of impressive arms, including Andres Munoz and Josh Hader – two of the most dominant relievers from the first half of the 2025 MLB season. It remains to be seen if players like Hunter Brown, Garrett Crochet, and Jacob deGrom end up pitching, but this roster should be more than fine with guys like Joe Ryan and Max Fried likely to find their way into tonight’s action for at least 1 inning.

Judge, Raleigh headline Midsummer Classic

Aaron Judge and Cal Raleigh headline an impressive American League lineup. They are both flirting with a 60-homer pace entering the All-Star Break in what is shaping up to be an electric MVP battle during the second half of the season. Raleigh, barring injury, is nearly guaranteed to set a new MLB record for home runs in a single season by a catcher – the previous record being 48 by Salvador Perez in 2021.

Notably, the American League will have both finalists from last night’s Home Run Derby in their lineup, with Raleigh starting behind the plate and Junior Caminero drawing the start at the hot corner. Gleyber Torres, Riley Greene, and Vladimir Guerrero will bat in the top 5 of the order as well, giving this lineup some serious star power in Atlanta.

National League Preview

Pirates pitcher Skenes

Skenes making 2nd consecutive All-Star start

Last year, Paul Skenes was the starting pitcher for the National League in the All-Star Game only 66 days after making his Major League debut. This time around, he’s had a full first-half schedule, during which he’s paced all starting pitchers with a 2.01 ERA. He’s been even better of late, posting a 1.20 ERA across his last 3 starts.

Skenes is expected to throw 1 inning before turning things over to Clayton Kershaw and Jason Adam. Manager Dave Roberts will have plenty of other talent at his disposal as well, with MacKenzie Gore, Jacob Misiorowski, Logan Webb, Edwin Diaz, and others also likely to be available in relief.

Ohtani leading off for National League

The National League has one of the best lineups we have seen in an All-Star Game in quite some time. Even in the Midsummer Classic, it’s rare to see players of the caliber of Kyle Tucker and Francisco Lindor hitting in the 7-hole and 8-hole, respectively. MVP candidate Pete Crow-Armstrong is in the 9-hole as well.

Coming off of the bench, the National League has a tremendous amount of talent, with players like Pete Alonso, Elly De La Cruz, Matt Olson, Fernando Tatis Jr., James Wood, and Kyle Schwarber each likely to earn at least 1 trip to the plate. This is a group that has the potential to put some runs on the board.

2025 MLB All-Star Game Prediction

The National League has scored 3, 2, 2, 3, and 3 runs in the last five All-Star Games. Tonight might finally be a breakout opportunity for them with the bats given the significant offensive depth they have. It’s also worth pointing out that Truist Park has the 3rd-highest elevation of any stadium in the big leagues, and it’s looking like another warm Georgia night in the forecast. The over for the full game probably has some value too, but isolating the better lineup in tonight’s contest might be the best way to enjoy the festivities.
