- Hisashi Iwakuma – Iwakuma continues to pitch well this season. He has a 3.06 ERA and a sub 1.00 WHIP on the year. He faces a tough matchup in Camden Yards against an Orioles squad that just put up 4 earned runs against Iwakuma in Safeco. He is tough to pay up for in this matchup due to others in his price point being in much better spots. With that said, I think he pitches well today. Rating = 7

- Chris Tillman – Tillman has been a serviceable starter this year and holds a 3.95 ERA. His low 5.89 K/9 really diminishes any fantasy value he would have stepping into a matchup with the Mariners. You can avoid him today. Rating = 4

- Jered Weaver – Just when I thought Weaver looked like a decently safe start, he got blown up by Baltimore, allowing 6 earned in 5 innings. Prior to this he had 6 quality starts in his last 7. He will look to get back on track today against the Rays who have won 10 of their last 13 games. He is a decent option as he is low priced across the industry. Rating = 5

- Jake Odorizzi – Odorizzi has pitched tremendous this season for the Rays after starting out with a 6.85 ERA in the month of April. Since then, he has dropped his season ERA to 3.80 and has had sub 3.00 ERAs in both June and July. He has a tough matchup today against the Angels who are 10th in team wOBA against RH pitching, but I think he makes for one of the top mid-tier options today.Rating = 7

- Kyle Gibson – Gibson has an overall 3.94 ERA on the year, but has been very up and down recently. In his last 6 starts, he has allowed 5 or more earned runs in 3 games, and 2 or less in the other 3. The inconsistency of Gibson makes him a tough start against the White Sox today. Rating = 5

- Jose Quintana – Quintana continues to be a pitcher I love to take and seems to be under owned even when he gets a good matchup. He has a 3.15 ERA on the year with a 1.22 WHIP. His strikeout numbers have been a bit all over the place, but has a 7.86 K/9 on the season. He has a great matcup against the Twins who strike out at a 21.4% clip against LH pitching. Quintana is the other top mid-tier option today. Rating = 7

Danny Santana – I have really liked taking Santana due to the fact that his price has still been low at some outlets. He also has 2 home runs in his last 3 games.

Jose Abreu – I will continue putting him here basically against any subpar pitcher. Gibson is one of those and Abreu should get on base a few times today once again.

- Marcus Stroman – Stroman has been great for the Blue Jays, especially recently. In his last 3 starts he has allowed only 1 earned run combined, while making 2 of those starts in hitter friendly Rogers Centre. During this stretch he has only allowed 15 base runners combined while striking out a very nice 20 batters in 21 innings. He will look to continue this against the Astros who are in the bottom third of the league in most major offensive categories against RH pitching. Rating = 6

- Scott Feldman – Feldman has an overall 4.39 ERA on the year and a 1.42 WHIP. He is not a fantasy option today against the Blue Jays who are a top offense in the league. His strikeout rate of 5.14 K/9 takes any value away and makes him a clear avoid in all formats. Rating = 3

- Matt Garza – Garza is another guy going today that has been a bit inconsistent on the year. This was personified by his start against Washington where he only got 1 out, while allowing 5 earned runs. He has also been great on the year at times too. In his last 2 starts he has allowed 1 earned run in each, while going at least 7 innings. His strikeouts are a bit down (6.44 K/9) and is taking on a STL squad that has hit him for 9 earned runs in 10 innings. I will be avoiding Garza today as there are much better options at his price. Rating = 4

- John Lackey – Lackey will make his first start since being traded to the Cardinals. His 3.60 ERA and 1.23 WHIP should benefit a good deal from the switch to the NL for the rest of the season. He has nice strike out numbers (116 SO in 137 innings) on the year, which should also see a bump this after noon. This Brewers offense is a whole lot less scary against RH pitching and Lackey is a small favorite today. Rating = 6
