DFS Tournament Report: NFL Week 4
Julio Jones was the name of the day this week in DFS as the Falcons star WR put up a 300 yard 1 TD performance. The seven contests we are reviewing today all had one thing in common and that was Julio in their lineups.
RotoGrinders vlogger, AssaniFisher, won the FanDuel Monster but he wasn’t the biggest winner on the day, as it was steiniscool who would indeed be cool as he won the Millionaire on DraftKings for a seven-figure payday. Here’s a quick review of the big GPPs at FanDuel and DraftKings, the top 10 standings for each contest, and the winning lineups:
FanDuel $1.75M Sunday Million ($200K to 1st)
Sunday Million winner siksidin25 would dominate the top of the leader board in this contest with three entries in the top 10 including the 1st and 2nd place winning lineups. It was no wonder either since he paired the monster game of Julio Jones with his QB Matt Ryan (who threw for 500 yards) and a 3 TD, 30 fpt outing from Michael Crabtree.
FanDuel $1.1M Sling TV Rush ($100K to 1st)
Sling winner jonnywod72 would thank RotoGrinders on Twitter for helping in his process that would lead to him winning $100,000 this weekend. It was a great lineup for Jonathan as he had the Ryan-Jones-Crabtree trifecta as well as big games from Will Fuller and Isaiah Crowell.
FanDuel $700K Monster ($75K to 1st)
Assani Fisher entered this weekend as #8 in RotoGrinders TPOY race and #13 in NFL – those numbers are sure to improve after he rode a Matt Ryan (1.9% owned) and Julio Jones combo to emerge victorious.
DraftKings NFL $4.4M Fantasy Football Millionaire [$1M to 1st]
Millionaire winner Steiniscool had an unconventional lineup for sure with four of his players coming in at under 8% ownership. Julio Jones wasn’t out of the ordinary but he did come low-owned at 7.6% (enjoy it DFS’ers as it won’t happen again). Add in a 5.8% owned Isaiah Crowell and a 1.3% owned Matt Ryan and you have the beginnings of a great contrarian lineup. Perhaps the biggest shock of the winning lineup, however, was the .4% owned Eddie Royal. It was a difference maker for sure as Royal would put up a big number (27.1 fpts) for a near minimum ($3,500) price tag.
DraftKings NFL $1.25M Play-Action
Chiguy123 had the Ryan-Jones-Crabtree trifecta as well with Matt Jones at 3.1% being his low-owned difference maker as the Redskins RB put up 24.8 fpts. Nearly 50 fpts from Steve Smith and Greg Olsen didn’t hurt either.
DraftKings NFL $1.25M Wildcat Special
Yet another Ryan-Jones-Crabtree trifecta lineup would lead Vassa to the win in the Wildcat Special. Late news of Terrance West getting the start had many in DFS pivoting to the Ravens RB and Vassa would be one of those who would benefit from a 20 fpts performance at low ownership (2.7%).
DraftKings NFL $500K Slant
The $9 Slant is a popular tournament among those in the DFS community with a great payout structure and a reasonable buy-in. Sjmfire would take it down this week with someone not named Matt Ryan as their QB. He would instead use Ben Roethlisberger who nearly matched Ryan with a 36.9 fpt outing. He paired Big Ben with Antonio Brown and another Brown who had an even bigger day in Cardinals WR John Brown (27.4 fpts at 2% ownership). Add in Will Fuller 27.1 fpts and you have your winning lineup.
