DFS Tournament Report: NFL Week 5

Another NFL week in the books and another big win for a RotoGrinders.com user. This time it was our very own Notorious, one of the hardest-working people in all of DFS, who took down the Monster on FanDuel and sent out this celebratory tweet.

In addition to Noto’s big win, the DraftKings Millionaire came down to the very end. If you didn’t catch Sunday Night Sweats with Joey Ingram do so now to watch the ridiculousness of it all. Punts & Field Goals!

FanDuel $1.5M Sunday Million ($300K to 1st)

It’s not often someone wins a large field GPP by double digits but that’s precisely what janxon007 did this Sunday as his lineup was over 12 points better than his closest competitor. Janxon is a top 200 ranked Grinder whose ranking will surely climb after putting together a lineup that featured all of his roster spots scoring a minimum of 16 points including 23 points from kicker Adam Vinatieri (Punts & Field Goals!). He only had two players with ownership under 10% but those two, Theo Riddick (23.2 fpts) and Martellus Bennett (27.7 fpts) were huge difference makers.

FanDuel $1M Sling TV Rush ($100K to 1st)

Bri5hole27 wasn’t satisfied with just first place in the FanDuel Sling TV Rush. No, he wanted both first and second as he ran a two lineup train to the top two spots, which was good for $140,000 in cold hard cash for him. He went with a naked Philip Rivers lineup which when put together with big games from Ezekiel Elliott (30.6 fpts), Sammie Coates (28.9 fpts), and T.Y. Hilton (28.1 fpts) was enough to just edge out Sunday Million winner janxon007 for the top spot.

FanDuel $600K Monster ($100K to 1st)

It wasn’t easy and he had to fade the Sunday Night Football game but RotoGrinders.com analyst and Grind Down writer Notorious held on for the win in the FanDuel Monster for a six-figure payday. The big plays for Noto were <5% owned players in Cameron Meredith (2.3% owned) and Martellus Bennett (2.7% owned). Those two totaled almost 50 fpts between the two of them.

DraftKings NFL $4.4M Fantasy Football Millionaire [$1M to 1st]

It didn’t look good for dbpittsburgh heading into a Sunday Night Football game that was expected to shoot out but as the game progressed and a defensive battle started to take place, the reality hit him on Sunday Night Sweats with Joey Ingram that he might actually have a shot. He had faded bit games from Odell Beckham and Jordy Nelson. Jamal07 had a shot though with Randall Cobb and needed just one 3 yard reception to get the 3 point bonus for going over 100 yards. The Packers were trying to seal the game by running out the clock but on 3rd and long they decided to look to Cobb to convert. Cobb hauled it in, got the first down, and in doing so knocked dbpittsburgh from 1st to 2nd and gave the million dollars to jamal07. What an ending!

DraftKings NFL $1.25M Play-Action

Jtrain048 stacked the Steelers-Jets game with three Pittsburgh players (Big Ben, Coates, and Le’veon Bell) and Brandon Marshall from the Jets. Those four got him off to a great 120 fpt start and with big games from T.Y. Hilton, Martellus Bennett, and Ezekiel Elliott was able to hold off BRORANNOSAURUS_FLEX for the win.

DraftKings NFL $1.25M Wildcat Special

Jberg1679 had most of the key pieces in his lineup on Sunday including Big Ben, T.Y. Hilton, and Sammie Coates. It was 6.5% owned Cameron Meredith and his 30.6 fpts that would ultimately be the difference maker though.

DraftKings NFL $500K Slant

BalancedLifeApproach would use a Big Ben-Coates-Marshall game stack along with Bennett, Hilton, and Amari Cooper on his way to winning the $500K Slant.
