Pitchers
- Home David Phelps is coming out of the bullpen and is likely going to be a starter for a little while now that Ivan Nova is on the DL. Phelps couldn’t ask for a better matchup for his first start. He draws the strikeout happy Astros and I think that this game will resemble game 2 of this series, not the first game where Pettite got smoked. Love the matchup and the K potential here so target Phelps.
- Away Erik Bedard has not looked like himself the last two seasons. Whether it is from injuries or age, he just isn’t the same pitcher that he used to be. While the Yankees do have a lot of left handed bats, I just don’t see Bedard having a very good game in Yankee Stadium. Avoid
Batters
- Home Target all of the right hand bats of the Yankees today. Vernon Wells is my favorite of the bunch though. He is batting .342 against lefties this season and got the night off last night so he should be well rested for tonight’s game.
- Away I could see the Astros putting up a couple of runs today, but they don’t have any consistent bats outside of Jose Altuve so it’s really hard to recommend taking any of them.

Pitchers
- Home Trevor Bauer was a highly touted prospect that just hasn’t looked that great so far in his young career. I think he has decent upside, but until he shows us that he can actually pitch in the majors, I am going to take other more reliable options.
- Away Cliff Lee is on the mound for the Phillies tonight and he will try to avoid what happened to Roy Halladay and the rest of the pitching crew for the Phillies last night. The Indians blasted them for 7 HR’s and 14 runs. While this would normally scare people away, the Indians are as inconsistent as they come and they could very easily get shut out tonight. Lee has decent success against them and is a recommended play if you can afford him.
Batters
- Home I’m not a believer in taking any hitters against top aces. Cliff Lee is still one of the best pitchers in the game, why take anyone against him?
- Away The Phillies bats have a decent matchup today against Bauer. I think Chase Utley could continue his good play and this may be a game where you want to take Ryan Howard.

Pitchers
- Home Mark Buehrle has been pretty disappointing for the Jays so far as has the rest of their team I guess. Buehrle has a 6.35 ERA with a 1.53 WHIP this season, those numbers don’t inspire any confidence. Avoid him today against those Red Sox bats.
- Away Clay Buchholz has really looked sharp this season but draws a tough matchup against a Rays team that is finally starting to hit the ball well. Vegas and the BvP stats both favor Buchholz today, but if he is as expensive as some of the other top pitchers today, I think I would rather go that route. However, he is in play.
Batters
- Home BvP numbers do not look good for the Rays other than Maicer Izturis and Adam Lind, but I don’t think I can trust either of them at this point. Maybe take a shot on Jose Bautista and hope for a HR, but Buchholz has really been solid this season.
- Away Load up on those right hand bats of the Red Sox today. Dustin Pedroia, Will Middlebrooks, and Mike Napoli all have positive splits in their favor.

Pitchers
- Home Paul Maholm got rocked in his last start, but it was against the Tigers in Detroit so I am going to give him a pass on that one. Maholm is very affordable, has a decent strikeout rate, and pitches at home where he has been solid over the last two seasons. I think he is a great option against the Nats tonight. Target
- Away Jordan Zimmerman is a pitcher that always seems to fly under the radar because he never has these crazy 15 K performances. He usually just pitches well and gets a decent amount of fantasy points. I think he will do that again tonight, but be on the wrong end of a close game.
Batters
- Home This one looks like it will be very low scoring which is not my favorite situation when taking hitters. Maybe take a shot on Justin Upton.
- Away Werth and Desmond both hit lefties well, but I think Maholm pitches a solid game in this one. I think you should save your roster spots for higher scoring games.

Pitchers
- Home I gave you the heads up about that wind in Chicago last night and hopefully you listened. That game was fantasy gold and almost every player racked up fantasy points. Tonight’s game should be a different story though as the wind is not blowing out and the over/under is pretty low. Scott Feldman is pitching for the Cubs, but he shouldn’t ever be on your radar. Avoid
- Away Andrew Cashner pitched well in his last start against the Giants, but they have a quick trigger for him and anytime he is in trouble they are going to pull him. I think he struggles against the Cubs and gets pulled before he reaches 5 innings.
Batters
- Home Even though the wind won’t be helping out any fly ball, I still think there are some solid options today. Starlin Castro and Anthony Rizzo both seem to be heating up.
- Away Feldman is not a very good pitcher and the Padres finally have some power back in their lineup with Headley and Quentin. I love the matchup for Chase Headley, I am calling a HR tonight, lock it up!
