MLB DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Tuesday, April 23

Who is your favorite hitter to spend up for in cash games?

CheeseIsGood: Fernando Tatis
squirrelpatrol: Fernando Tatis
stevietpfl: Ronald Acuna
boggslite: Fernando Tatis
ebeimfohr: Fernando Tatis

How do you plan to beat the field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?

CheeseIsGood: There are a lot of factors at play. First off, I don’t think Coors Field bats are going to be chalky at all. Saying you’re going to fade the Padres is not enough of a strategy. If anything is chalky, it’s probably the Astros and Cubs along with the cheap Twins. But I also think the Orioles are going to pick up a lot of steam as the day moves on. This should give us a large-enough group of offenses that nothing ends up hitting a concerning level of ownership. Meanwhile, Pablo Lopez is going to be massive chalk on the pitching side and likely joined by Michael King on DK. My initial lean is that Lopez is just in too good of a spot to overthink it, and King is just too much better than the other cheap options to overthink it. If I’m correct that the Cubs are chalky and the Orioles start to pick up steam, then my tactic or strategy to ‘set me apart’ is to hope that everyone else overthinks it. I may do a little less full-stacking, but my hope is just that the hitter ownership is spread out enough that it essentially doesn’t matter.

squirrelpatrol: I’ll go chalkier than I normally do at pitcher, playing Pablo Lopez in his excellent matchup against the White Sox, and I’ll mix my stacks to pair higher-owned stacks with lower-owned stacks with upside. I will aim to pair the Cubs and Astros in a game stack more than I normally pair offenses in the same game, however. With the wind being a driving factor behind the higher total in that game, I expect it to either lift both offenses together or disappoint for both teams.

stevietpfl: This slate has 6-10 teams that have the ceiling of scoring 10+ runs. I’m going to be spreading out my exposure with my stacks and looking for some lower-owned secondary teams. It’s a good slate to focus on pitching. I’ll be building around Grayson Rodriguez, Pablo Lopez, and Logan Gilbert. I’ll be mixing in some of the risk/reward pitchers, like Michael King, Luis Severino, Dane Dunning, Max Fried, and Logan Webb.

boggslite: On a slate lacking high-upside options at pitcher, Pablo Lopez and Grayson Rodriguez stand out with their respective matchups. Lopez is my top option and will be a priority, and if I can’t squeeze in Rodriguez, then I will likely go down to Max Fried as my SP2, as I don’t like the cheap options. I will then look to some value bats to round out my stacks, where the Cubs, Padres, and Orioles will be my focus.

ebeimfohr: As of right now, my favorite stacks are projected to be lower owned, which is always nice on any slate. On this one in particular, I am trending towards the top pOWN% pitchers being the core of my pitching pool/exposure, while I trend away from the more popular stacks, like Coors Field, Houston, and the cheap Twins who are picking up ownership.

Who is your top overall pitcher (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?
