MLB DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Wednesday, July 3
Who is your favorite hitter to spend up for in cash games?
SquirrelPatrol: Aaron Judge
stevietpfl: Christian Yelich
TheLuuch: Shohei Ohtani
Alex Sonty: Shohei Ohtani
How do you plan to beat the field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
SquirrelPatrol: It looks like a great day for some offenses, and I’ll spend down with some uncomfortable pitchers to get the top hitters and stacks. Aaron Judge and Shohei Ohtani seem too expensive, but over the past 30 days, Judge has a .872 SLG% and Ohtani has a .765 SLG%, so maybe they’re still too cheap. I’ll aim to be over the field on those two along with the stacks in good hitting conditions.
stevietpfl: I will be underweight on Davis Daniel, Carlos Rodon, and Logan Gilbert. All three of those pitchers have a much higher pOWN% than I expected. I’ll be overweight on Chris Sale, Zack Wheeler, Ryan Pepiot, and David Festa.
TheLuuch: I’m going to roll the dice and fade Coors Field in tournaments. Dakota Hudson isn’t good, but he is at least a ground-ball pitcher, and I don’t love stacking against them. Colin Rea has been surprisingly serviceable this season, allowing more than 3 ERs in a start just twice since the beginning of May.
Alex Sonty: I don’t think I’ll fade the Rockies, but I’ll fade the Brewers due to the 52.9% ground-ball rate of Dakota Hudson this season. I’m not paying up for pitching very often in 2024, so I could also fade Chris Sale just because I wanna pay for what pOWN% says will be overlooked Dodgers and Yankees bats — together. I can also stack the Mariners against the chalky Dean Kremer.
