MLB DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Friday, April 19

Who is your favorite hitter to spend up for in cash games?

CheeseIsGood: Aaron Judge (FD) / Gunnar Henderson (DK)
squirrelpatrol: Anthony Volpe
boggslite: Aaron Judge
ebeimfohr: Gunnar Henderson
Alex Sonty: Ronald Acuna

How do you plan to beat the field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?

CheeseIsGood: I’m going with the ‘Don’t Overthink It’ approach at pitcher, just playing Freddy Peralta and Joe Ryan in the bulk of my lineups. I see the case for Jack Flaherty on DK, and he’ll be in my pool, but for the most part, if I can’t get double-aces, I’ll just go all the way down to a $5,000 Yariel Rodriguez and hope for the best. My initial lean is that the Mariners, Braves, Dodgers, and Yankees split up the high-end ownership to the point where it essentially doesn’t matter. In that case, I want to be most over the field on the Mariners, a rare chance to get an upside team in Coors. I’ll be pretty spread out after that top group of expensive stacks, but with salary being the focus, I’ll end up on more cheap stacks or mini stacks, like the A’s, or using the bottom of the order from teams like the Orioles and Royals.

squirrelpatrol: I’ll spend up for teams that have power and speed and spend down at pitcher if I have to. I’ll likely be under the field on the Coors Field game, as that spot jumps out less than it usually does with the chilly weather. I’ll target some other stacks, like the Yankees and Blue Jays, that I think can put up better numbers at lower projected ownership.

boggslite: As much as I love the matchup and attractive prices of Seattle, the weather has me hesitant to go all in on them. The Yankees and Braves stand out to me as well, and I will likely spread out my exposure to those top three while adding in the Dodgers and Orioles. I will also try my best to pay up for pitching with Joe Ryan and Freddy Peralta, as I don’t love the middle tier of options. I will drop down to Yariel Rodriguez only if I have to.

ebeimfohr: The approach of focusing on the cheap pitchers that allow us to get superstar bats and elite stacks has been really strong much of this season, but this slate doesn’t give us the cheap pitching options we would like for that. So I’m looking to deviate from the field with my bats. In particular, I’m looking at low-owned Guardians, Padres, and Brewers. I’m also looking at a team like the A’s, who no one will feel comfortable clicking despite Triston McKenzie‘s arm issues.

Alex Sonty: If the field is gonna underexpose themselves to great hitting parks like Yankee Stadium, I’m gonna target that park very aggressively with Yankees in single-entry and three-max tournaments. In MME, I wanna full-stack the higher-owned Braves under the field, mini-stack low-owned spots against vulnerable pitching, and go way underweight on the Orioles (because ballpark matters a lot when we’re splitting hairs).

Who is your top overall pitcher (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?
