Pitcher Grind Down
- Madison Bumgarner – This game should be a pitcher’s duel. Bumgarner has a 3.15 ERA on the season with a 1.33 WHIP and a K/9 of 10.4. While the Cardinals have been heating up against RH pitching, they are still only ranked 23rd against LH pitching with a 20.3 K-percentage. Everyone will be on Wainwright in this game, making Bumgarner a very attractive GPP play. Rating = 7
Salaries: $9400 FD, $18242 DS, $15950 DD, $10000 DK, $111800 FF, $26900 SS, $16200 FTD
- Adam Wainwright – If you throw out his starts against the Cubs, Wainwright has an ERA well under 1.00 this season. He has been close to unhittable with a 0.85 WHIP. He also has a K/9 of 8.5 and has the ability to pitch a complete game every time he takes the mound. He is the top pitching option on the board. Rating = 10
Salaries: $10900 FD, $24184 DS, $22550 DD, $12600 DK, $149000 FF, $33000 SS, $20100 FTD

San Francisco / St. Louis
You would have to scrape the bottom of the barrel to try to find any good hitting options in this game. With these two pitchers on the mound, it’s better to just avoid both team’s batters and target the teams with better matchups.

Pitcher Grind Down
- Mike Leake – The only thing holding Leake back from becoming a terrific daily fantasy baseball player is his K-rate. He is only averaging 5.8 K’s per 9 innings. The ERA and WHIP are both very solid though. Leake is a pretty average option tonight though as Chase Field is one of the better hitter’s parks in baseball. For the price, there are better alternatives. Rating = 4
Salaries: $7100 FD, $15401 DS, $13000 DD, $7800 DK, $89300 FF, $22200 SS, $12300 FTD
- Bronson Arroyo – Arroyo has given up 2 or less earned runs in 5 of his last 6 starts. He now has an ERA of 4.15 to go along with his K/9 of 5.1. While this Reds’ offense has been slumping, I still won’t be using Arroyo tonight. This is a hitter’s park and the Reds have some powerful bats in their lineup. Rating = 4

Cincinnati
Devin Mesoraco – Mesoraco is batting .319 against RH pitching this season with an OPS of 1.03. With Jay Bruce struggling since coming back from his injury, I’d much rather take Mesoraco here.
Additional Plays: Billy Hamilton, Brandon Phillips
Arizona
A.J. Pollock – Now is the time to jump on Pollock. He has been crushing everything in site over his last 4 games and has been good against RH pitching all season with a .326 batting average and an OPS of .903. His price is still cheap on a few sites and this may be one of the last times that you can take him at that price.
Additional Plays: Paul Goldschmidt, Martin Prado, Miguel Montero

Pitcher Grind Down
- Garrett Richards – Richards has had two bad outings this season, but has 7 quality starts under his belt. He is boasting a 3.00 ERA, a 1.12 WHIP, and a K/9 of 8.5. While the A’s offense has been terrific against RH pitching this season, I think Richards carries some value as a deep tournament play. His K-potential is certainly there. Rating = 5
Salaries: $7000 FD, $17777 DS, $14300 DD, $9500 DK, $93300 FF, $25700 SS, $12500 FTD
- Drew Pomeranz – Pomeranz continues to be a tough sell for me because he doesn’t pitch deep into games. 90 pitches has been his season high. While that number will slowly creep up, I still think his limited workload limits his fantasy value. Additionally, he is facing an Angels’ offense that is ranked 7th against LH pitching this season. Rating = 4
Salaries: $5100 FD, $14305 DS, $10750 DD, $5700 DK, $80000 FF, $17200 SS, $ FTD

LA Angels
Mike Trout – There is so much chatter about Trout having a down year, but he’s still put up a .291/.380/.918 BA/OBP/OPS. He’s been terrific against LH pitching and has been hot over the last week with a .440 average and an OPS of 1.22.
Additional Plays: Howie Kendrick
Oakland
Brandon Moss – I’m biting on the Moss bullet once again. Moss has good numbers off of Richards in his career and has terrific power against RH pitching. He’s not the top 1B option available, but I will certainly have some exposure to him tonight against Richards.
Additional Plays: John Jaso

Pitcher Grind Down
- Justin Verlander – Verlander has been awful in his last 3 starts. He’s given up a combined 28 hits, 9 walks, and 16 earned runs. He is giving up way too many base on balls to his opponents and until he can turn it around, I’ll be avoiding him. There are better options at his price point. Rating 5
Salaries: $8000 FD, $17113 DS, $15000 DD, $8600 DK, $60000 FF, $23900 SS, $16600 FTD
- Hisashi Iwakuma – Speaking of better options at Verlander’s price point, Iwakuma fits the bill. He has a 2.31 ERA on the season with a 0.83 WHIP and 24 K’s over 37 innings of work. We can expect his strikeouts to increase as the season goes on as his K/9 last season was 7.6. I love targeting Iwakuma at home, even against this tough Tigers’ offense. Rating = 7

Detroit
There aren’t many days where I will recommend avoiding all Tigers’ hitters, but today is one of them. Miggy, V-Mart, and Kinsler are all overpriced in their matchup against Iwakuma.
Seattle
Robinson Cano – If Verlander keeps his current form, the Mariners could be a sneaky stack tonight. They have plenty of LHB’s to throw at the RH Verlander whose command has not been great in his last few starts. Cano is batting .325 against RH pitching this season with an OPS of .814.

Pitcher Grind Down
- Francisco Liriano – I’ve been avoiding Liriano for the last few weeks now and so far it has paid off. In terms of fantasy production, he has only had 1 good outing in his last 10 starts. While the Dodgers have not hit LH pitching well this season, I’ll be avoiding him again tonight. Rating = 5
Salaries: $6900 FD, $13910 DS, $12450 DD, $6200 DK, $59800 FF, $16500 SS, $12300 FTD
- Josh Beckett – Beckett put a stamp on his comeback season with his first career no-hitter in his last start. On the season he has a 2.43 ERA with a K/9 of 8.5. He has pitched very well at home and gets to face the Pirates at Dodger Stadium tonight. The Pirates are ranked 16th against RH pitching this season and are not a team that I’m scared to take pitchers against. Rating = 7
Salaries: $7500 FD, $17989 DS, $16700 DD, $9200 DK, $85800 FF, $25400 SS, $13200 FTD

Pittsburgh
Beckett gives up a higher wOBA to LHB’s than he does to RHB’s, but there aren’t any LHB’s that really stand out here. Ike Davis, Pedro Alvarez, and Travis Snider aren’t must plays by any means.
LA Dodgers
Yasiel Puig – Puig is a terrific play tonight if you can find a way to get him in your lineups. He’s batting .341 against LH pitching this season with an OPS of .975. I have a sneaky feeling that Liriano is going to leave one over the plate and Puig will hit his 12th HR of the season.
Additional Plays: Hanley Ramirez
