Gio Gonzalez : FD: $9,400 — DK: $9,100
Pitching Stats:
2014 – 2015: IP: 274.0 — SIERA: 3.56 — ERA: 3.65 — K%: 23.2% — BB%: 8.7% — HR/9: 0.5
Last 30 Days: IP: 26.2 — SIERA: 3.54 — ERA: 2.36 — K%: 22.9% — BB%: 9.3% — HR/9: 0.3
Los Angeles Dodgers Offense (2015)
vs. LH Pitching: wOBA: 0.329 (Rank: 4) — Strikeout Rate: 20.3% (Rank: 11)
Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.332 (Rank: 12) — Strikeout Rate: 21.9% (Rank: 21)
Pitchers per PA: 3.88 (Rank: 5)
Analysis: Gonzalez has been in good form recently, posting a 3.54 SIERA with a strikeout rate of 22.9%. It’s always a bit unnerving when you target him though, as he has a very high walk rate and he often gets himself into trouble. Gonzalez is a small underdog tonight against the Dodgers, who are ranked fourth in team wOBA and 11th in team strikeout rate against against left-handed pitching this season. There are better pitching options at better price points tonight.
Pitcher Rating: 63.6
Brett Anderson : FD: $7,700 — DK: $7,100
Pitching Stats:
2014 – 2015: IP: 167.0 — SIERA: 3.41 — ERA: 3.02 — K%: 16.8% — BB%: 6.7% — HR/9: 0.6
Last 30 Days: IP: 22.2 — SIERA: 3.93 — ERA: 2.78 — K%: 12.8% — BB%: 5.3% — HR/9: 1.2
Washington Nationals Offense (2015)
vs. LH Pitching: wOBA: 0.306 (Rank: 18) — Strikeout Rate: 21.6% (Rank: 18)
Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.295 (Rank: 25) — Strikeout Rate: 20.6% (Rank: 15)
Pitchers per PA: 3.77 (Rank: 22)
Analysis: Anderson has pitched well over the last two seasons, posting a 3.41 SIERA with a strikeout rate of 16.8%. His strikeout rate has been down a bit recently though, and he is facing a Nationals’ offense that is finally healthy. Washington has a much better lineup with Ryan Zimmerman, Anthony Rendon, and Jayson Werth back. Anderson isn’t the worst pitching option on the board, but I have both Jon Niese and Ian Kennedy ranked higher than him and they are at a comparable price point.
Pitcher Rating: 63.0

Washington
The Nationals draw a decent matchup tonight against Brett Anderson, who is a low strikeout pitcher. There typically wouldn’t be any elite plays here, but we only have seven games on the schedule, so choices are limited. Ryan Zimmerman and Anthony Rendon are both in play tonight.
Elite Plays:
Ryan Zimmerman : FD: $2,700 — DK: $3,400

LA Dodgers
The Dodgers are small favorites tonight against Gio Gonzalez, but this is not a matchup that we should go out of our way to target. Gonzalez has held left and right-handed hitters under a .310 wOBA over the last two seasons. The Dodgers are secondary fantasy options tonight at home.

Wei-Yin Chen : FD: $7,800 — DK: $7,700
Pitching Stats:
2014 – 2015: IP: 315.2 — SIERA: 3.86 — ERA: 3.45 — K%: 18.5% — BB%: 5.0% — HR/9: 1.3

Seattle Mariners Offense (2015)
vs. LH Pitching: wOBA: 0.305 (Rank: 19) — Strikeout Rate: 20.5% (Rank: 13)
Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.343 (Rank: 7) — Strikeout Rate: 20.8% (Rank: 16)
Pitchers per PA: 3.87 (Rank: 8)
Analysis: Chen has been an underrated pitcher for the Orioles over the last two seasons, posting a 3.86 SIERA with a strikeout rate of 18.5%. He draws a mediocre matchup tonight against the Mariners, who are ranked 19th in team wOBA and 13th in team strikeout rate this season. Seattle does have some intimidating right-handed hitters to throw at Chen, though. Once again, I’m leaning toward Jon Niese or Ian Kennedy at this price point.
Pitcher Rating: 56.3
Vidal Nuno : FD: $5,200 — DK: $4,300
Pitching Stats:
2014 – 2015: IP: 201.0 — SIERA: 3.78 — ERA: 4.16 — K%: 20.3% — BB%: 6.7% — HR/9: 1.3

Baltimore Orioles Offense (2015)
vs. LH Pitching: wOBA: 0.309 (Rank: 14) — Strikeout Rate: 21.9% (Rank: 19)
Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.335 (Rank: 9) — Strikeout Rate: 20.5% (Rank: 14)
Pitchers per PA: 3.82 (Rank: 13)
Analysis: Nuno has been a nice surprise for the Mariners, but he hasn’t thrown more than 62 pitches in a game in more than two months. He will likely be on some sort of pitch count tonight, which really hurts his fantasy appeal. He can safely be avoided against the Orioles, who are ranked 14th in team wOBA and 19th in strikeout rate against left-handed pitching this season.
Pitcher Rating: 46.2
Batter Grind Down
Baltimore
The Orioles draw a favorable matchup tonight against Vidal Nuno, who has given up a .342 wOBA to right-handed hitters over the last two seasons. The right-handed hitters have the edge in this matchup, but the Orioles will likely see plenty of the Mariners’ bullpen as well, so the left-handed hitters in this lineup could make for intriguing tournament options.

Seattle
The Mariners draw a favorable matchup against Wei-Yin Chen, who has given up a .332 wOBA to right-handed hitters. Nelson Cruz and Mark Trumbo have both been swinging hot bats and are elite plays in the outfield. Austin Jackson and Jesus Montero are also in play if they are in the lineup tonight.
