Pitcher Grind Down
Jonathon Niese – Niese has really pitched well for the Mets this season. He has a 2.20 ERA with a 1.05 WHIP and 24 K’s over 32 innings of work. He seems to be pitching over his head though and I think he will come back down to Earth here soon. Last season Niese really struggled on the road with a 5.70 ERA and a 1.69 WHIP. This start will be on the road and he has to face a Marlins’ offense that has been on fire at Marlins Park this season. He carries some value as a tournament play, but should be avoided in cash games. Rating = 4
Nathan Eovaldi – Eovaldi is one of the best under the radar pitchers that we have left in DFS. Eovaldi has always had great velocity, but he is just starting to put it all together. In his first 6 starts this season he has posted a 2.58 ERA with a K/9 of 8.3. I’m not sure he will be on many people’s radar tonight, but I think he makes a terrific play against a Mets’ offense that often forgets to bring their bats to the ballpark. Rating = 8

N.Y. Mets
Curtis Granderson – The Grandy Man is finally starting to produce for the Mets. He has reached base with either a hit or a walk in each of his last 10 games and has shown a nice eye for the ball as he hasn’t struck out more than once in any game during that stretch. Granderson has nice power against RH pitching and is still cheap across the major sites in the industry.
Additional Plays: None
Miami
Giancarlo Stanton – Giancarlo is looking a lot like the Mike of 2012. He already has 10 HR’s this season including 2 of them yesterday against the Dodgers. Marlins Park is typically one that favors pitching because it’s hard to hit HR’s, but Stanton certainly has the power to clear the fence. He is also facing a lefty which is his specialty.
Additional Plays: Marcell Ozuna

Pitcher Grind Down
Shelby Miller – If you just look at Miller’s numbers, they certainly aren’t bad this season. He is sporting a 3.15 ERA with a 1.46 WHIP and a K/9 of 6.8. The issue is that he hasn’t been able to keep his pitch count down as evidenced by the fact that he has yet to pitch more than 6 innings in any of his starts this season. Miller has also had his struggles on the road over the last two seasons. Rating = 5
Aaron Harang – All right, I think everyone jumped off of the Harangatang bandwagon as soon as they could after he got blown up by the Marlins in his last outing. But to his defense, many pitchers (including Alex Wood) have been shelled by the Marlins in Marlins Park this season. I’m not jumping ship just yet and it appears that Vegas isn’t either. Harang is a small favorite tonight against the Cardinals whose offense has been ice cold the first month of the season. I’m going out on a limb here, but I think Harang pitches well and picks up the W. Rating = 7
Batter Grind Down
St. Louis
Matt Adams – Adams makes a nice punt play at 1B tonight. He is batting .385 against RH pitching this season and has 5 hits in his last 2 games. Not only that, but Harang struggled against LH batters last season giving up a .337 wOBA to lefties.
Additional Plays: Matt Carpenter
Atlanta
Jason Heyward – Heyward, like a few other Braves hitters, is off to a slow start this season. He is only batting .220 on the year, but he does have a couple of things in his favor tonight. Miller gave up a .344 wOBA last season and Heyward is starting to heat up with 9 hits in his last 7 games.
Additional Plays: Freddie Freeman

Pitcher Grind Down
Jose Quintana – Quintana has 6 starts under his belt this season and has posted a 4.00 ERA with a 1.33 WHIP. He has struck out 32 batters over 36 innings pitched. Tonight he faces a Cubbies offense that has struggled to hit all types of pitching this season. I won’t be using him in cash games, but may throw him on a few tournament lineups. Rating = 6
Jeff Samardzija – Samardzija has a 1.98 ERA on the season with a 1.24 WHIP and 31 K’s over 41 innings of work. Last season he had one of the better K-rates in baseball as he posted a K/9 just under 9.00. He is a high upside pitcher, but can be difficult to target in cash games because he often sees little to no run support. He is better served as a GPP tonight, especially on sites like FD that heavily weight the win for a starting pitcher. Rating = 6
Batter Grind Down
Chicaco White Sox
Jose Abreu – Wrigley Field is a very HR friendly ballpark and Abreu is a very HR-friendly batter. Abreu already has 12 HR’s on the season and is one of the few players in DFS that has multi-HR upside. Use him as a tournament play tonight.
Additional Plays: Adam Dunn
Chicago Cubs
Junior Lake – Lake is a nice punt option in the OF tonight. Last season he hit .377 against LH pitching and he has some nice pop in his bat. He also has decent speed and should be batting in the middle of the order against the LH Quintana.
Additional Plays: Starlin Castro

Pitcher Grind Down
Mike Bolsinger – Bolsinger will be making his 4th career start tonight and so far he has had mixed results. He’s given up at least 4 earned runs in two starts and didn’t allow a single earned run in the other start. With a matchup against the Brewers in the hitter-friendly Miller Park, he can safely be avoided in all leagues tonight. Rating = 3
Matt Garza – Garza’s 5.00 ERA on the season isn’t pretty, but he does have a K/9 of 7.5. He is a high-upside pitcher that comes with a lot of risk. If you look at his game log, his fantasy production has been all over the board this season and at this point he is only recommended as a GPP play. Rating = 5
Batter Grind Down
Arizona
Paul Goldschmidt – Something tells me that no one is going to be targeting Goldy tonight. Garza has the big name, but Goldy is batting .331 with an OPS of .905 this season. He also has 5 HR’s and should play well in the hitter-friendly Miller Park.
Additional Plays: Miguel Montero, Aaron Hill
Milwaukee
Carlos Gomez – Gomez is batting .295 with an OPS of .879 against RH pitching this season. He also has nice speed as evidenced by his 40 stolen bases last season. Sure he has some on-field antics, but as long as he is producing, that’s all we need to worry about.

Pitcher Grind Down
Martin Perez – Perez’s terrific start finally has a blemish. He gave up 8 earned runs in his last start. While his ground ball ratio is impressive, I expect his ERA and WHIP to slowly creep up to where they were last season. Tonight he faces the Rockies in Coors Field and you know the drill with pitchers in Coors. Rating = 2
Jordan Lyles – A change of scenery has been exactly what Lyles has needed. He has an ERA that is half of his ERA over the last two seasons. He has managed to keep his WHIP at an impressive 1.07. That said, this game is in Coors and I will not be using him in any lineups tonight. Rating = 3
Batter Grind Down
Texas
Shin-Soo Choo – The Rangers are coming off of a 14 run performance yesterday and their offense will likely stay hot now that they get a series in Coors. The total is set at 10.5 runs and the entire Rangers lineup is in play. My favorite play here is Choo who has great power against RH pitching.
Additional Plays: Adrian Beltre, Prince Fielder, Alex Rios, Mitch Moreland, Elvis Andrus
Colorado
Troy Tulowitzki – Tulo got the day off yesterday, but should be back in the lineup tonight. He has always hit LH pitching well and has some insane splits at home this season. He is batting .591 with a 1.65 OPS. Fade Tulo at your own risk tonight.
Additional Plays: Carlos Gonzalez, Jordan Pacheco, Drew Stubbs, Nolan Arenado
