Pitcher Grind Down
- Jon Lester – Lester has had some very good starts this year and has a 3.02 ERA to show for it. He continues to strike guys out at a decent rate of 9.61 K/9. Oakland is a tough matchup for Lester today as they hit lefties very well. The matchup cuts down a bit of Lester’s fantasy value, but still could make a decent GPP play. Rating = 6
Salaries: $9300 FD, $18565 DS, $17850 DD, $9700 DK, $110100 FF, $26700 SS, $17850 FTD
- Tommy Milone – Milone has average numbers on the season with a 3.56 ERA and 1.24 WHIP. He does not go deep into games on a regular basis and has a low K/9 at 5.63. The numbers and matchup depress Milone’s value a lot and is not a good start today. Rating = 4
Salaries: $6200 FD, $11945 DS, $11700 DD, $7100 DK, $74900 FF, $18100 SS, $11700 FTD
Batter Grind Down
Boston
David Ortiz – A very interesting stat makes Papi the top Boston play today. He is 3 for 4 off of Milone with 3 home runs. He is always worth a GPP shot as he will be under owned. Due to the L/L matchup.
Additional Plays: Dustin Pedroia Xander Bogaerts
Oakland
Yoenis Cespedes – Donaldson and Norris make good plays too, but Yoenis is the hot bat at the moment. He has 2 bombs in the last 7 games and is hitting .360 during that span.
Additional Plays: Josh Donaldson Derek Norris

Pitcher Grind Down
- Madison Bumgarner – Bumgarner comes into this game with a 2.85 ERA and a respectable 1.19 WHIP on the season. He has been one of the Giants more consistent options this year and continues to go deep into games while striking out a good amount of batters. He takes his 9.89 K/9 to Chase Field where he has a 4.41 ERA in 6 starts over the last 3 seasons. He is a heavy favorite though and should pick up the win against Bolsinger. Rating = 7
Salaries: $9500 FD, $21568 DS, $18750 DD, $10500 DK, $129300 FF, $27500 SS, $18750 FTD
- Mike Bolsinger – Bolsinger has not been good for the Diamondbacks this year. He carries a 5.70 ERA and a high 1.60 WHIP after 5 starts. He is a very easy avoid this afternoon. Rating = 3
Salaries: $5100 FD, $9914 DS, $8850 DD, $6100 DK, $63500 FF, $14000 SS, $8850 FTD
Batter Grind Down
San Francisco
Pablo Sandoval – The switch hitter will get to take on Bolsinger today in a very nice matchup. Bolsinger has given up a wOBA of .401 to LH bats and Panda is hitting the ball real well recently.
Additional Plays: Hunter Pence Gregor Blanco Buster Posey
Arizona
Paul Goldschmidt – Goldy against a LH pitcher in Chase field is the ideal situation. He has not hit Bumgarner overly well so it is more of a GPP play today, but does have one home run off of him.

Pitcher Grind Down
- Kyle Lohse – Lohse has been good on the year and brings his 3.09 ERA into a matchup at Coors. There have been 36 runs scored in the first two games of this series and the O/U is again over 10. Regardless of who is pitching, you need to avoid them. Rating = 3
Salaries: $7100 FD, $15029 DS, $15350 DD, $8400 DK, $102900 FF, $23000 SS, $15350 FTD
- Tyler Matzek – Matzek actually pitched well in his first start at Coors as he gave up only 2 earned runs to the Braves. I do not see him matching that performance as the Brewers have a lot of power righties in that lineup that are feasting right now. Avoid him. Rating = 1
Salaries: $5300 FD, $9761 DS, $13250 DD, $6600 DK, $64000 FF, $16400 SS, $13250 FTD
Batter Grind Down
Milwaukee
Ryan Braun – I have really been waiting for Braun to put together a real big game in this series and it has been everyone else around him. I think today is the day he goes deep in Coors and is less salary that Lucroy and Gomez at a few sites.
Additional Plays: Jonathan Lucroy Carlos Gomez Rickie Weeks Jean Segura Aramis Ramirez
Colorado
Charlie Blackmon – Blackmon seems to have found his grove back recently. He has 13 hits in the last 8 games and is back at Coors where his average is about .80 points higher.
Additional Plays: Troy Tulowitzki Corey Dickerson Justin Morneau

Pitcher Grind Down
- Hyun-Jin Ryu – Ryu continues to put together a very consistent season as he holds a 3.16 ERA and an 8-3 record to show for it. He has the best matchup and park on the board today as he faces the punchless Padres at Petco Park. He also should be in line for the win as Stults is on the mound against him. Taking salary into account, he may be one of the safest pitchers for cash games today.Rating = 8
Salaries: $8200 FD, $17600 DS, $14000 DD, $9000 DK, $107200 FF, $23300 SS, $14000 FTD
- Eric Stults – Stults has not been good for the Padres this year and even Petco Park has not helped drop his 5.76 ERA this year. His ERA at Petco is actually a staggering 6.28 and batters are hitting .322 against him. Stults is an easy avoid against all the good RH batters of the Dodgers. Rating = 3
Salaries: $5000 FD, $7155 DS, $7950 DD, $5000 DK, $40000 FF, $13000 SS, $7950 FTD
Batter Grind Down
LA Dodgers
Yasiel Puig – Puig should feast on the lefty today in Stults. He is 5/6 against him in his short career.
Additional Plays: Hanley Ramirez Scott Van Slyke Matt Kemp Adrian Gonzalez
San Diego
I do not suggest taking any hitters today for the Padres.

Pitcher Grind Down
- Yu Darvish – Yu conintues to be Yu this year with a number of good performances. He struggled against the A’s, but so has everyone else this year. He comes into this matchup against the Angels with a 2.39 ERA and a very nice 10.86 K/9. He does have a tough matchup against the Angels today, but could always throw a gem on any given night. Rating = 8
Salaries: $11500 FD, $24523 DS, $20100 DD, $12200 DK, $148500 FF, $30900 SS, $NA FTD
- Matt Shoemaker – Shoemaker is coming off his best performance of the season by far with an 8 inning, 10 K game against the Indians. Prior to this game, he had not gone more than 6 innings in a game or had more than 6 strike outs. I do not forsee a repeat of the Indians game today, and he is safe to avoid. Rating = 4
Salaries: $6800 FD, $16198 DS, $12000 DD, $6400 DK, $ FF, $17000 SS, $ FTD
Batter Grind Down
Texas
Shin-Soo Choo – Shoemaker has really struggled against LH batters this year giving up a wOBA of .351. Choo went deep last night and it may be what he needs to snap out of his June funk.
Additional Plays: Leonys Martin Adrian Beltre *
LA Angels
Mike Trout – If you could find the salary, Trout has crushed Darvish in their short careers. Trout is 9/31 with 4 home runs against him.
