The carousel continues on the left wing of the top line, as now it looks like Richard Panik is back with Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane as Vinnie Hinostroza was scratched with an upper-body injury. Chicago continues with their seven-game road trip as the defeated the Calgary Flames last night to get to an even 1-1 record so far. Vancouver is not a good team by anyone’s standards as they are 3-7 over the last ten games and have given up 57 goals so far this season. Marian Hossa is red hot from the team’s second line and could be used separately or as a full line stack with Artemi Panarin and Artem Anisimov. Duncan Keith is the play on the point, as he tallied his 13th assist of the year in the win last night. Brent Seabrook plays the opposite side of Keith on the team’s top power play unit but has been a bit quiet of late, scoring just one goal in the last four games. The interesting thing here is that he has a team leading 13 shots over the last four games, which surely helps add up the fantasy points. Look for Chicago to score a few tonight and come away with the win in the process.
Daniel and Henrik Sedin are not the players they once were, but this is all Vancouver has at the moment. Daniel either leads or is tied for the team lead with six goals, six assists, and 53 shots. Brandon Sutter played on the top line last game as they beat Arizona by a score of 3-2. In fact, the Canucks have won two of their last three games as they wrap up current four-game home stand. Defensemen Troy Stecher and Alexander Edler join the top line when the team goes on the power play so using any of these five guys in a GPP is not as bad as it first seems. To this point, Loui Eriksson looks like a total flop, but that’s what you get when you go to a bad team. Things don’t get much better. Chicago plays much better at home, but on the road tonight against a bad team, I’d look for the same result as they had last night in Calgary.
