Merry Thursday and welcome to another edition of the Rise & Grind, the place where daily fantasy sports is the subject and winning is the goal.

Today we will go over a magical night in Cleveland for one team and a devastating, gut-wrenching loss for another. We’ll recap what went down in game seven of the World Series between the Chicago Cubs and the Cleveland Indians.

Next, we will show you guys the GrindersLive Schedule for today, which is stuffed to the gills with knowledge for both NFL & NHL.

Finally, we’ll go over some of the BIG winners of last night; check out their lineups and learn some lessons.

Sound good? Of course it does.

World Series Champions….FINALLY

If you were stuck watching a bad movie with your girlfriend, or at some terrible sushi restaurant with your family, and happened to miss one of the most epic, thrilling, baseball games in World Series history, we’re sorry. Yes, it was that good.

Let’s start with the Cubs, whose fans trudged in and out of Wrigley Field thousands of times hoping that one day their team will even make it to the final series. After waiting 108 years, they finally did, rolling in as the best team in the majors for the majority of the year. Studs like Kris Bryant, Anthony Rizzo, Ben Zobrist, and solid pitching from Jake Arrieta, Jon Lester and Hendricks, along with their big pickup from the NY Yankees in the pen Aroldis Chapman, came back from a 3-1 deficit to force a game seven in the Land.

The Cleveland Indians didn’t crawl in either; the Windians, with a 94-67 regular season record, roared into the World Series after beating both the Boston Red Sox and the Toronto Blue Jays. Their roster is pretty young as well. Names like Francisco Lindor, Rajai Davis, Mike Napoli and Jason Kipnis. Don’t forget their crazy rotation with Corey Kluber, Trevor Bauer, Danny Salazar plus their lights out closer Andrew Miller, who they nabbed from the Yankees as well.

As the two teams began Game 7, they quickly felt that this was more than just a game. With the crowd both inside and outside the field on their feet from the first pitch to the final groundout, the energy protruding into the players on the field made this game not only seem magical but historic.

The series was defined by one word: drama, with the Cubs coming back and winning two games in a row after falling behind 1-3. The Cubs carried a 6-3 lead into the eighth inning and just six outs away from an emotional victory. But a double and a two-run home run by the Indians wiped out that lead and tied the game, and the deadlock held through the ninth inning. Typical. That’s when the rain came, play was delayed as the tarp skimmed across the field. The delay lasted all but 15 minutes. Once it let up, the Cubs poured it on in the 10th inning, scoring two runs to provide the cushion they needed. World Series M.V.P. Ben Zobrist hit a go-ahead double, and Miguel Montero followed up with an RBI single to give the Cubs the insurance run they needed.

It is Chicago’s third title, which was introduced in 1903, but this specific win might go down as one of the sweetest and hard earned championships in American sports.

The World Series MVP was Ben Zobrist, who is no stranger to the big stage, winning the World Series a year ago against my beloved New York Mets (sad face).

Congratulations to the Chicago Cubs for eradicating that annoying pesky curse, and winning a title that will be remembered for years to come.

Wednesday’s Big Winners

There was some HUGE GPPs last night across the industry and lots of money to be won, so let’s see who did just that.

In the FanDuel’s $1 Million Wed NBA MEGA Slam lizthebiz24 came out on top, winning the whole shebang with a score of 377.80 FD points.

Let’s take a look at their lineup:

The highest scoring human on their roster was James Harden, who seems to get this label quite often. Harden faced the NY Knicks and exploded for 30 points, 15 dimes, and 6 boards, totaling to 60.7 FD points.

Next to highest was John Wall from the Washington Wizards. Walldoesn’t find himself on top lineups as much as he maybe should in my opinion. This dude has got raw talent and he showed it last night, running over Kyle Lowry and scoring 33 points and dishing out 11 assists, finishing the night with 54.5 FD points.

Their best value play was Amir Johnson, who after Jae Crowder went down with a cankle took control of the offense and racked up 23 points with 6 boards aiding the Celtics to a 107-100 victory over the Chicago Bulls. Amir ended the night with a shocking 44.7 FD points, which propelled lizthebiz24 to their 200k triumph.

Congratulations on your MAJOR win!
