Sports Info Solutions: MLB DFS Advice for Saturday, June 23rd
America’s pastime and daily fantasy sports are a perfect fit with an overload of data and statistics to analyze before making your lineup selections.
Because of the amount of information available to the DFS player, it can be a bit overwhelming, so I’ve tried to help you out by recommending a number of well-priced options by using Sports Info Solutions’ “SIS Model 3”.
SIS Model 3 gives DFS players an edge when setting their lineups as it uses the most expansive and accurate wealth of baseball data to create a tested DFS algorithm. You can learn more about the development of the algorithm in the RotoGrinders Marketplace.
Pitching Option
Lance McCullers, Houston (FD Price $8900)
McCullers is tough in Minute Maid Park, yielding just a .193 batting average and .248 wOBA at home. The Royals rank 27th against RHP producing just a .293 wOBA. McCullers struck out nine Royals on June 17 in a no-decision.
Hitting Options
C/1B) Mitch Moreland, Boston (FD Price $3400)
Since the release of Hanley Ramirez, Moreland has gotten the opportunity to start almost every day. He’s posting a career-best .386 wOBA and .255 ISO. Moreland owns a .408 wOBA and has smashed nine of his 10 homers against RHP.
2B) Devon Travis, Toronto (FD Price $2300)
After a horrible start, Travis has upped his game producing a .350 wOBA in May and .360 wOBA in June.
3B) Rafael Devers, Boston (FD Price $3400)
While Devers hasn’t produced up to last season’s level, he’s still posting solid numbers against RHP (.317 wOBA).
SS) Aledmys Diaz, Toronto (FD Price $2700)
Diaz’s problem is he can’t hit LHP (.176 wOBA) so it’s a good thing he faces righty Jaime Barria. He’s a .324 wOBA against RHP and Barria has more difficulty with RHB (.349 wOBA) than LHB (.280 wOBA).
OF) George Springer, Houston (FD Price $4100)
He’ facing a pitcher in Kennedy that owns a .390 wOBA on the road and .418 against RHB away from Kauffman Stadium. Springer is a .375 wOBA hitter at home versus RHP and a season-best .385 overall wOBA in June.
OF) Andrew Benintendi, Boston (FD Price $4400)
Benintendi is doing everything this season, batting .296 with 13 HR, 50 RBI, 55 runs scored and 12 SB in 73 games. He’s even more deadly against RHP in Fenway Park (.386 BA, .693 SLG, .467 wOBA).
OF) Josh Reddick, Houston (FD Price $2500)
Reddick’s overall numbers are pedestrian (.241 6 HR, 20 RBI, .313 wOBA), but improve against RHP at Minute Maid Park (.344 wOBA).
UTIL) Curtis Granderson, Toronto (FD Price $2900)
The “old guy” can still hit RHP posting a .365 wOBA and all six of his home runs.
Stacking Option
When it comes time to draft a fantasy baseball team in DFS, stacking is a widely accepted strategy. There’s a reason: it works. If you want to win big, you will need a gigantic score, and stacking makes it easier to rack up the points because the scoring of batters in a given lineup is interrelated. Batters reaching base allows the hitters down the line to drive them in, creating something of a snowball effect.
Boston Red Sox
Hopefully they aren’t tired from all that running around the bases Friday night. Benintendi. Moreland and Devers are already in the lineup and if you can somehow fit MVP candidate J.D. Martinez under your cap he owns a .533 wOBA against RHP in Fenway this season.
