Sports Info Solutions: MLB DFS Advice for Wednesday, June 27th

SIS

America’s pastime and daily fantasy sports are a perfect fit with an overload of data and statistics to analyze before making your lineup selections.

Because of the amount of information available to the DFS player, it can be a bit overwhelming, so I’ve tried to help you out by recommending a number of well-priced options by using Sports Info Solutions’ “SIS Model 3”.

SIS Model 3 gives DFS players an edge when setting their lineups as it uses the most expansive and accurate wealth of baseball data to create a tested DFS algorithm. You can learn more about the development of the algorithm in the RotoGrinders Marketplace.

Pitching Option

Kyle Gibson, Minnesota Twins (FD Price $8,300)

The Twins right-hander has some unusual splits which show he’s nearly unhittable on the road. He’s yielded just one home run in 45 IP away from Target Field with a .136 BA, .225 SLG and .217 wOBA. Meanwhile, his K/9 jumps to 9.6. He’ll face a Chicago White Sox team ranked 25th in wOBA (.303), 26th in runs-per-game (3.87) and at the bottom of the league for K% (25.6).\

Hitting Options

C/1B) John Ryan Murphy, Arizona Diamondbacks (FD Price $2,300)

Murphy has been putting up career-high power numbers this season (.268 ISO) and most of the damage comes against LHP (.327 ISO, .397 wOBA). He goes up against Wei-Yen Chen, who struggles against RHB (.553 SLG, .398 wOBA).

2B) Asdrubal Cabrera, New York Mets (FD Price $3,300)

Don’t blame the Mets’ offensive failures on switch-hitter Cabrera, who is having a fine season with the bat (.278, 13 HR, 43 RBI, .341 wOBA). Ivan Nova can’t get out LHB on the road (.408 wOBA).

3B) Matt Carpenter, St. Louis Cardinals (FD Price $3,700)

Coming off a two homer, five-hit night there is a danger he could be too tired from all the base running, but we will take the chance. After a slow start, Carpenter has been mashing the ball, posting a .404 wOBA in May and .443 wOBA in June. Although opposing starter Shane Bieber only has 18.1 IP with the big club, he is already showing a tendency to give it up to LHB (.414 wOBA versus .212 wOBA to RHB).

SS) Nick Ahmed, Arizona Diamondbacks (FD Price $2,500)

Ahmed’s overall numbers aren’t very pretty, but he can hit LHP (.286 BA, .378 wOBA) and we already know about Chen’s ineffectiveness versus righties.

OF) Mookie Betts, Boston Red Sox (FD Price $5,000)

We have found enough bargains so far to bring out the big gun. Betts is hitting everything (.338 BA, 20 HR, 41 RBI, .460 wOBA). Against LHP those numbers jump to .356 BA and .487 wOBA.

OF) Michael Conforto, New York Mets (FD Price $2,900)

Conforto came through yesterday with his 10th homer of the season and we will use the lefty again against Nova, who struggles against all lefties.

OF) Mitch Haniger, Seattle Mariners (FD Price $3,500)

Haniger has been productive this season (.356 wOBA), already matching last year’s home run total with 59 RBI in just 336 at-bats.

UTIL) Adrian Beltre, Texas Rangers (FD Price $3,500)

The veteran’s bat is still producing, particularly in Arlington where he owns a .352 BA and .386 wOBA.

Stacking Option

When it comes time to draft a fantasy baseball team in DFS, stacking is a widely accepted strategy. There’s a reason: it works. If you want to win big, you will need a gigantic score, and stacking makes it easier to rack up the points because the scoring of batters in a given lineup is interrelated. Batters reaching base allows the hitters down the line to drive them in, creating something of a snowball effect.

Arizona Diamondbacks

John Ryan Murphy and Nick Ahmed are solid bargains and you could continue the right-handed assault on Wei-Yen Chen with 1B Paul Goldschmidt (.465 wOBA vs. LHP) and 2B Ketel Marte (.366 wOBA vs. LHP).
