Week 5 Fantasy Football Quarterback Rankings
The Week 5 Fantasy Football QB rankings are special. Why you ask? There are finally teams on bye weeks, so that means the ranking list becomes a lot shorter. Nice! It’s never fun ranking the bottom few fantasy football quarterbacks each week as we probably don’t want to be using them anyway. While the Top 4 of the Week 5 Fantasy Football Quarterback Ranking remains the same as previous, Week 6 may finally be the time we see someone new crack the Top 4.

Week 5 Quarterback Rankings
1. Josh Allen – He’s having an unbelievable season and gets a great matchup against a Jaguars team that could keep this game close enough to allow Allen to sling it all game.
2. Patrick Mahomes – The best QB in the league against a horrible defense. The only negative is a potential blowout.
3. Jalen Hurts – The Eagles QB gets one of his best matchups of the season, load him up with confidence.
4. Lamar Jackson – The Ravens have really struggled with injuries, but Jackson looks incredible.
5. Anthony Richardson – The rushing upside is even better than we hoped, fire up Richardson every single week.
6. Tua Tagovailoa – Although the Bills slowed down the Dolphins last week, Tua still belongs in the top tier of Fantasy Football QBs.
7. Kirk Cousins – A strong second tier, but there’s still a big drop-off after Tua.
8. Sam Howell – It’s finally the week of the rookies! Howell looks great and gets the best possible matchup.
9. C.J. Stroud – Quietly the best of all the rookie QBs, he looks wonderful.
10. Trevor Lawrence – He’s going to be throwing the ball a lot to keep his team in the game, there’s a drop-off behind him to tier 3.
11. Jordan Love – Top QB in tier 3.
12. Jared Goff – Well, Goff is at home, so I guess that means he’s going to do well, weirdly enough.
13. Joe Burrow – Oof, the Bengals look so bad. I didn’t think Burrow would ever be this low.
14. Justin Fields – He put up a great fantasy performance against a terrible team. Let’s see if he can build some momentum even though they took the L.
15. Daniel Jones – Wow, did Jones ever look awful in Monday Night Football against the Seahawks. At least he has rushing upside.
16. Brock Purdy – Solid game manager in one of the league’s best offenses.
17. Zach Wilson – This is the last player in tier-3. He’s weirdly a great DFS option after a strong showing vs. the Chiefs and now landing a phenomenal matchup against the Broncos.
18. Ryan Tannehill – Big drop off after Wilson.
19. Matthew Stafford – Stafford would be ranked higher if he wasn’t dealing with an injury, he may not even play.
20. Dak Prescott – Tough matchup for Dak, but this team looks pretty strong this year.
21. Russell Wilson – Let Russ cook in the second half when the Broncos are down 21.
22. Bryce Young – Top of the bottom tier.
23. Joshua Dobbs – Probably the highest Dobbs will be ranked all year.
24. Derek Carr – The play-calling, the blocking, it’s just so bad for the Saints.
25. Aidan O’Connell / Jimmy Garoppolo – Who knows, I’m out either way.
26. Mac Jones – Tough matchup for Mac.
27. Desmond Ridder – He looks really bad and now has to fly home from London.
28. Mitch Trubisky – Sorry Steelers fans, at least Pickett isn’t out for the year.
Fantasy Football QB Notes
Anthony Richardson and Tua Tagovailoa are so close to cracking the Top 4, it could happen literally any week. In the meantime, this is no longer a secondary tier behind Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, Jalen Hurts and Lamar Jackson. Tagovailoa and Richardson are right in that top tier with them for Fantasy Football purposes. However, Anthony Richardson isn’t the only impressive rookie QB this season as C.J. Stroud has been wildly impressive and it’s finally going to be Sam Howell week against a terrible Bears team.
There’s a pretty big drop off in the Week 5 Fantasy Football QB Rankings after… Zach Wilson. Now, that’s not a sentence I ever thought I’d say, but the matchup against the putrid Broncos’ defense makes it a reality. The Tannehill through Wilson range is all totally reasonable in a worst-case scenario but not something I’d want to do if I had any other options in DFS or season-long Fantasy Football.
