CourtIQ shows that when VanVleet has been off the court this season, Gary Trent Jr. has see a +5.5% usage bump while Pascal Siakam has led the team with a 1.17 fantasy point per minute average.

Chimezie Metu (knee) listed doubtful Tuesday. This downgrade should leave more playing time for Richaun Holmes, Marvin Bagley and Harrison Barnes. Holmes is extra cheap on DraftKings while Barnes has some appeal in GPPs, especially if De’Aaron Fox (questionable) can’t suit up.

Ingram was already doubtful and not in initial projections but Josh Hart being ruled out is big news as the Pelicans have also ruled out Devonte Graham and Jonas Valanciunas. There is a chance Nickeil Alexander-Walker joins the starting lineup to replace Hart, making him an even stronger punt play on this slate. He’s coming off a 30 point fantasy game and now will have free reign in this offense to take on more. He graded out as a top 3 RG Value option already and his projected ownership should skyrocket with this news.

This likely pushes Jose Alvarado into the starting lineup for Graham, and potentially Willy Hernangomez for Valanciunas, who has been a DNP-CD candidate lately. This is also a boost Nickeil Alexander-Walker and Jaxson Hayes. The Pelicans are now going to be the source of value we’re looking for to allow us to spend up on the studs.
