Robert Williams (personal) ruled out Monday

Robert Williams (personal) has been ruled out for Monday’s game against the New Orleans Pelicans. There are a couple different ways the Celtics could approach the starting lineup with Robert Williams out. They could shift Al Horford to the five with Grant Williams entering the starting lineup, or they could insert Enes Freedom in for Robert Williams at the center position. Either way, both Grant Williams and Enes Freedom should see increased minutes and become slightly better plays.

Jaylen Nowell, Leandro Bolmaro both available to play Sunday

Nowell is likely to play minutes behind Beverley/Russell off the bench, while Bolmaro would likely need an injury to find his way into any playing time. Nowell is not a recommended DFS option with the Wolves backcourt healthy.

Austin Rivers (non-COVID illness) ruled out Sunday

Rivers won’t return to the Nuggets lineup on Sunday, which should afford Davon Reed, Bones Hyland and potentially James Ennis to see some more opportunity. We’ll also likely see Will Barton become more involved than he has been in his two games since returning from injury.

Marvin Bagley (shoulder) ruled out Sunday

Marvin Bagley won’t play Sunday due to shoulder soreness. Chimezie Metu will start in his place at PF, and Metu sets up as one of the best value plays on the board Sunday with a starting spot. Even if he plays minutes on the lower end of his projection, he should still be able to pay off his salary thanks to his per-minute numbers. Maurice Harkless is a candidate to step back into the rotation with Bagley (and Haliburton) out of action, but he’s nowhere near the DFS radar. With Richaun Holmes likely to be somewhat limited, Damian Jones figures to have some stability as the backup five.

Richaun Holmes, Damian Jones both available to play Sunday

The Kings will have a relatively healthy frontcourt on Sunday with Holmes and Jones both available. They’ll start with Holmes and Metu in the frontcourt alongside De’Aaron Fox, Harrison Barnes and Terence Davis. Jones will likely see minutes behind Holmes, but he will have to contend with Alex Len, Metu and Marvin Bagley. With Bagley coming off the bench, he becomes a little less appealing but is still a potential tournament option on a short Sunday slate.

Tyrese Haliburton has entered the league's health and safety protocols, out Sunday

Tyrese Haliburton has entered the league’s health and safety protocols, per Kings reporter James Ham. He won’t be able to play Sunday night if that’s the case, which should afford De’Aaron Fox a chance to run as the team’s unquestioned lead guard and should give Buddy Hield, Davion Mitchell and Terence Davis bumps in playing time. Fox becomes an elite target on this slate, as does Hield in a game that should feature plenty of fantasy appeal if it stays competitive. Mitchell and Davis are both stronger value targets with Haliburton out of action.

Austin Rivers (non-COVID illness) listed questionable Sunday

Rivers is listed questionable tonight due to a non-COVID related illness. With Barton back his role has reverted back minutes in the high teens to low twenties, and if he can’t go that time would likely slide to a combination of Davon Reed, Bones Hyland and possibly James Ennis. We’ll continue to update Rivers’ status throughout the day.

Gary Payton II (back) ruled out Sunday

Gary Payton II (back) has been ruled out for Sunday’s contest against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Payton’s minutes are expected to be spread out between the available warriors tonight, meaning they will all see a slight boost but there will be no true winner here. Jordan Poole, Andre Iguodala, and Otto Porter Jr. already projected as good plays and will become slightly better plays on this three game slate. Poole projects as the top play on the slate and should be considered in all formats.

Status Update: Kelly Olynyk (knee) and Frank Jackson (conditioning) listed out Sunday

Kelly Olynyk (knee) and Frank Jackson (conditioning) listed out Sunday. Olynyk status has gone all over the place today but it seems that his listing on the official NBA injury report will be his final swap. With Olynyk still out Trey Lyles will backup Isaiah Stewart at the center position and can be considered on the showdown slate after a monster game in his last outing.

Leandro Bolmaro (conditioning) now questionable Sunday

Leandro Bolmaro (conditioning) is listed questionable for Sunday’s game against the Golden State Warriors. Bolmaro was out of the rotation when he entered health and safety protocols, so even if he is available to play he is not expected to see the court barring a blowout.

Frank Jackson has cleared health and safety protocols, no update on status for Sunday

Frank Jackson has cleared health and safety protocols according to his HC Dwayne Casey but no update on his availability for Sunday was given. Jackson hasn’t played in a game since December 29th so it would not be surprising for him to need to ramp up his conditioning before returning to game action. Jackson is currently listed on the injury report as out (health and Safety protocols) but there is speculation this should be listed as conditioning.

Jaylen Nowell (ankle) available to play Sunday

Jaylen Nowell (ankle)will be available to play Sunday against the Golden State Warriors. Nowell is expected to see his usual backup guard minutes and should not be considered in DFS contests at this time.

Cam Johnson (ankle) ruled out Sunday

Cam Johnson (ankle) has been ruled out for Sunday’s contest against the Detroit Pistons. With Johnson out, Mikail Bridges and Jae Crowder should see the bulk of the forward minutes with Jalen Smith also expected to see minutes in the mid teens. Ish Wainwright should also remain in the rotation. All players will see an uptick in minutes and expected production.
