OG Anunoby (calf) and Yuta Watanabe (ankle) ruled out Sunday
Both players will be unable to make their return to the court as the Raptors prepare to play the Minnesota Timberwolves. Anunoby will be missing his tenth straight game with his calf issue, while Watanabe will miss his third straight due to an ankle injury. Norman Powell has been starting in the absence of Anunoby, and has averaged 33 minutes over the last six games. Watanabe’s minutes have mostly been replaced by a combination of Deandre Bembry, Stanley Johnson, and Terrence Davis. With the Raptors starters all playing heavy minutes, fantasy production will be hard to come by for the Raptors bench outside of Chris Boucher.
As reported by: Blake Murphy via Twitter Other tagged players: Yuta WatanabePJ Washington (health protocols) ruled out Sunday
After being listed doubtful during the day, Washington was officially ruled out due to health and safety protocols, and will miss the game against the San Antonio Spurs. With Gordon Hayward also ruled out, Miles Bridges will get the start at the power forward position, while coach James Borrego stated pregame that Jalen Mcdaniels will get minutes after returning from his stint in the G league.
As reported by: the Charlotte Hornets via TwitterGordon Hayward (back) ruled out Sunday
After being added to the injury report late with a probable designation, Gordon Hayward has officially been ruled out due to lower back discomfort and will not play against the San Antonio Spurs. This will make the Hornets frontcourt very thin, as the health and safety protocols have impacted the Hornets significantly. PJ Washington is still considered doubtful, while both Caleb and Cody Martin have been ruled out. Miles Bridges will presumably get the start at the power forward position, while Jalen McDaniels may be forced to play some minutes off the bench as frontcourt depth. LaMelo Ball receives the biggest bump with Hayward off the floor, as he averages 1.35 FPM with a 27.2% usage percentage in a 290 minute sample per CourtIQ. Coach Borrego likes to run very tight rotations so we might see heavy duty minutes if the Hornets can keep the game close.
As reported by: the Charlotte Hornets via TwitterAbdel Nader (ankle), Cam Payne (foot) and Dario Saric (ankle) all listed probable Sunday
On the second night of a back-to-back set, all three Suns are expected to play through their respective ailments and suit up against the Orlando Magic. Payne made his return from a nine game absence last night and played 15 minutes off the bench. Saric made his return after missing thirteen games in a row due to an ankle injury, and also came off the bench and played 20 minutes. Nader was available but only played in garbage time as the Suns have become fully healthy. Saric played his minutes yesterday as the backup center behind Deandre Ayton, while Frank Kaminsky got the start but only played ten minutes and may have his minutes in jeopardy.
As reported by: Kellan Olson on Twitter Other tagged players: Cameron Payne, Abdel NaderGordon Hayward (back) listed probable Sunday
Hayward was a late addition to the injury report this afternoon and is listed as probable with lower back discomfort before the Hornets matchup against the San Antonio Spurs. This looks to be a new injury, as Hayward started and played 35 minutes on Friday against the Minnesota Timberwolves. If Hayward were to sit, the Hornets would be very shorthanded as Cody and Caleb Martin are already ruled out, while PJ Washington is doubtful due to health and safety protocols. The Hornets only played eight players on Friday (including Hayward), so their tight rotation would become even tighter. Expect Miles Bridges to get the start while Lamelo Ball would be the biggest benefactor as he averages 0.12 FPM more with Hayward off the court per CourtIQ.
As reported by: the Charlotte Hornets via TwitterSemi Ojeleye (knee) and Robert Williams (hip) available to play Sunday
Both of the Celtics frontcourt players will be available to play this afternoon against the Washington Wizards. Williams will be returning from a two game absence with his hip injury, while Ojeleye will not be forced to miss any time with a hip injury that he suffered in the second half against the Pistons. Ojeleye will stay in the starting lineup, as he has the last two games, while Williams will fight for the backup center minutes behind Daniel Theis.
As reported by: the Boston Celtics via Twitter Other tagged players: Robert Williams IIIPJ Tucker (thigh) and John Wall (ankle) will play Saturday
As expected, Tucker has officially been upgraded from questionable and will play in Saturday’s matchup against the New York Knicks despite dealing with a left thigh contusion he sustained during Thursday’s loss, while Wall has also been cleared to play following his original probable designation on the Rockets’ injury report. There haven’t been any reports of potential minute restrictions Tucker or Wall, so they should resume their usual roles in the starting lineup and see somewhere close to their normal minute workloads in tonight’s contest. Wall was able to play 36 minutes in Houston’s previous games, so he’ll be a particularly intriguing option for all daily fantasy formats with Victor Oladipo and Christian Wood still sidelined with their respective ailments.
As reported by: Jonathan Feigen via Twitter Other tagged players: John WallTony Snell (Achilles) ruled out Saturday
Snell has officially been downgraded from questionable and won’t play in Saturday’s matchup against the Indiana Pacers due to right Achilles soreness, while Cam Reddish and Brandon Goodwin will be available to play following their original probable designations on the Hawks’ injury report. In Snell’s absence, head coach Lloyd Pierce already confirmed with reporters during his pregame media availability that Skylar Mays will join the rotation to help fill the void left behind by Snell in the second unit. However, Mays is nothing more than a dart throw in large-field tournament formats as he’s still highly unlikely to see enough playing time to become relevant across the daily fantasy industry.
As reported by: Brad Rowland via TwitterDe'Aaron Fox (knee) and Marvin Bagley (calf) ruled out Friday
Fox has officially been downgraded from questionable and won’t play in Friday’s matchup against the Orlando Magic due to a left knee contusion, while Bagley will also be unavailable because of left calf soreness following their late additions to the Kings’ injury report. In their absences, Tyrese Haliburton and Glenn Robinson III will move into the starting lineup, and Halliburton, particularly, should have a substantially higher minute floor as a member of the second unit. However, the same can’t be said for Robinson, as head coach Luke Walton already hinted to reporters during his pregame media availability that one or both of Nemanja Bjelica and Jabari Parker could join the rotation at the forward positions in tonight’s contest.
As reported by: Deuce Mason via Twitter Other tagged players: Marvin BagleyAnthony Davis (Achilles) will start Friday
As expected, Davis has been upgraded from questionable and will start in Friday’s matchup against the Memphis Grizzlies after he was held out for two games as a precaution due to right Achilles tendonosis. There haven’t been any indications from the Lakers or head coach Frank Vogel that Davis will be subject to a minute restriction in his return, so he should be fine to handle somewhere close to his usual minute workload in tonight’s contest. The availability of Davis will also send Kyle Kuzma back to the bench following his solid fantasy performance in just under 39 minutes of action in Wednesday’s overtime win.
As reported by: Mike Trudell via TwitterBlake Griffin (rest) will start Friday
Head coach Dwane Casey confirmed with reporters that Griffin will play and start in Friday’s matchup against the Boston Celtics after logging 33 minutes in Thursday’s loss, meaning he’ll play in both games of a back-to-back set for the first time this season, while Frank Jackson is also available to play despite dealing with a sprained right finger. There haven’t been any reports of a potential minute restriction for Griffin, so he’ll presumably see somewhere near his usual minute workload in tonight’s contest. In Plumlee’s absence, Isaiah Stewart will almost certainly receive his second consecutive start at the center position, and he was phenomenal for fantasy purposes last time out in just over 31 minutes of action, making him easily the top value option for all formats across the daily fantasy industry this evening.
As reported by: Rod Beard via TwitterDevonte' Graham (groin) available to play Friday
Graham has officially been upgraded from questionable and will be available to play in Friday’s matchup against the Minnesota Timberwolves after missing three games due to a strained left groin, while PJ Washington, Caleb Martin, and Cody Martin were all late additions to the Hornets’ injury report as they have entered the NBA’s health and safety protocols and could require a currently undetermined self-isolation period. Clearly, Charlotte is now extremely shorthanded at the guard, forward, and wing positions, but they have plenty of options at the center position with Cody Zeller, Bismack Biyombo, and Nick Richards all active. Even with Graham now available, Miles Bridges and Malik Monk figure to see extensive run off the bench with the second unit in tonight’s contest whereas the starters should have significantly higher minute floors than normal as well.
As reported by: Charlotte Hornets PR via TwitterPJ Washington (protocols) ruled out Friday
Washington is a late addition to the Hornets’ injury report and won’t play in Friday’s matchup against the Minnesota Timberwolves as he’ll join Caleb and Cody Martin the NBA’s health and safety protocols and could require a currently undetermined self-isolation period. Meanwhile, Devonte’ Graham is still listed as questionable with a strained left groin that’s already forced him to miss three games, so Charlotte could potentially be even more shorthanded at the guard, forward, and wing positions than they already are with Washington and Martin twins unavailable. Whether Graham is ruled out or not, Miles Bridges and Malik Monk figure to see extensive run off the bench with the second unit in tonight’s contest whereas the starters should have significantly higher minute floors than normal as well.
As reported by: Charlotte Hornets PR via TwitterCaleb Martin (protocols) and Cody Martin (protocols) ruled out Friday
Caleb and Cody Martin are new additions to the Hornets’ injury report and won’t play in Friday’s matchup against the Minnesota Timberwolves as they’ve entered the NBA’s health and safety protocols and could require a currently undetermined self-isolation period. Meanwhile, Devonte’ Graham is still listed as questionable with a strained left groin that’s already forced him to miss three games, so Charlotte could potentially be even more shorthanded at the guard and wing positions than they already are with the Martin twins unavailable. As reported by: Charlotte Hornets PR via Twitter Other tagged players: Cody MartinMason Plumlee (elbow) and Sekou Doumbouya (concussion) listed out Friday; Josh Jackson (finger) listed probable
Plumlee and Doumbouya have been included on the Pistons’ initial injury report and are listed out for Friday’s matchup against the Boston Celtics due to their respective ailments, while Frank Jackson is listed as probable with a sprained right finger. Curiously, Blake Griffin was excluded from the injury report, which would put him on track to play in both games of a back-to-back set for the first time this season after logging 33 minutes in Thursday’s loss. In Plumlee’s absence, Isaiah Stewart will almost certainly receive his second consecutive start at the center position, and he was phenomenal for fantasy purposes last time out in just over 31 minutes of action, making him easily the top value option for all formats across the daily fantasy industry this evening.
