No Luka, No Problem
Taking out Luka Doncic’s 32 minutes and nearly 20 field goal attempts per game is going to open up some value on the Mavericks for the next couple of weeks. Tim Hardaway Jr is third on the team in usage rate among the players that receive significant minutes, so he should be able to grow his 25 minutes and 10.6 field goals per game. He’s still priced affordably, so we should take advantage.
Cam Johnson (hip) and Tyler Johnson (illness) officially out Tuesday
As expected, Cam Johnson and Tyler Johnson won’t play in Tuesday’s matchup against the Los Angeles Clippers, while Devin Booker was already ruled out of tonight’s second leg of a back-to-back set with a right forearm contusion. Additionally, Deandre Ayton will return from his 25-game suspension, which should help compensate for the absence of Cam Johnson since Frank Kaminsky will now be able to spend most of his time as the backup power forward. In Booker’s absence, Mikal Bridges should start alongside Kelly Oubre on the wing once again, and he has been great fantasy purposes in an average of 31.4 minutes over the last two games. Other than Bridges’ increased workload, the main beneficiary with Booker off the court has easily been Ricky Rubio, as he owns a 26.3% usage rate, a 45.6% assist rate, and is averaging 1.20 DraftKings and 1.15 FanDuel points per minute in a 195.6 minutes sample size.

As expected, Conley has been cleared and will be available to play in Tuesday’s matchup against the Orlando Magic after missing five games due to hamstring tightness. There haven’t been any reports of a potential minute restriction for Conley, so he’ll presumably assume his place alongside Donovan Mitchell in the starting backcourt, which will send Joe Ingles to the bench to resume a reserve role. Ingles logged at least 33 minutes in three of the Jazz’s previous five games, but he’ll more than likely see that playing time reduced back down to the mid or high-20s if Conley is able to handle a full allotment of minutes this evening. Conley has largely struggled this season, and is averaging just 0.89 DraftKings and 0.85 FanDuel points thus far on the year.

Davis was officially downgraded from questionable and won’t play in Tuesday’s matchup against the Indiana Pacers due to a sprained right ankle, while Rajon Rondo continues to be listed as probable with a strained left hamstring. Head coach Frank Vogel has decided to start Jared Dudley at power forward, but Rondo will still likely spend a decent portion of the game at point guard with the starting unit, which would slide LeBron James down to the power forward position and make him and Rondo co-primary ball-handlers. James has only logged 114.5 minutes with both Davis and Kyle Kuzma off the court this season, but in that time, he’s recorded a massive 44.4% usage rate, 42.1% assist rate, and is averaging 1.88 DraftKings and 1.80 FanDuel points per minute.

As expected, Huerter has been cleared to play and will start in Tuesday’s matchup against the New York Knicks despite dealing with a left shoulder contusion, while Jabari Parker is available to play following his original probable designation on the injury report. Head coach Lloyd Pierce disclosed during shootaround that Huerter won’t have a minute restriction in tonight’s contest, and he’s managed to log at least 23 minutes in each of the Hawks’ previous five games. However, even if Hueter sees an increased workload, he’s still a fringe daily fantasy option since he has just a 17.2% usage rate and is averaging 0.87 DraftKings and 0.83 FanDuel points per minute on the season.

With Anthony Davis being ruled out it opens the door for Lebron James to lead this slate in scoring. Davis has only missed 1 game this season but we saw Lebron rack up a 23/6/12 stat line in that game. He only played 27 minutes that night due to a blowout and this game against Indiana should keep him on the court for his typical 35 minutes per game, if not more.

Anthony Davis is currently questionable for tonight’s game, but even if Davis is able to give it a go, JaVale McGee should be in consideration, particularly in GPPs. McGee usually starts and averages only about 16 minutes per game, however he is capable of putting up some big numbers in that time, averaging over 20 FanDuel points per game on the back of a 1.3 blocks per game average. The center position is looking a bit weak tonight, and McGee is a play with some upside who won’t hurt you too much even if he gets limited minutes.
Marvin Williams (knee) available to play Tuesday; Nicolas Batum (hand) ruled out
As expected, Williams will be available to play in Monday’s matchup against the Sacramento Kings after missing five games due to sore right knee, while Batum has been downgraded from questionable and will miss a fourth straight game with left-hand discomfort. Head coach James Borrego opted to go with a rather unconventional starting lineup in Sunday’s loss with both Bismack Biyombo and Cody Zeller starting in the frontcourt, but now that Williams is available, he will likely choose to go with a more traditional power forward in place of P.J. Washington this evening. Williams logged at least 27 minutes in each of the two games prior to his injury, so he’ll be a viable punt option on tonight’s slate even though he averages just 0.75 DraftKings and 074 FanDuel points per minute on the season.

As expected, Fox has been cleared and will play in Tuesday’s matchup against the Charlotte Hornets after missing over a month due to a sprained left ankle. There haven’t been any reports of a potential minute restriction for Fox, but the fact that head coach Luke Walton has opted to bring him off the bench in his first game back could signal that Fox won’t be allocated his normal allotment of minutes this evening. This means that Cory Joseph should remain in the starting lineup at point guard for the time being, but with the expected reduction in minutes, he can easily be avoided in all daily fantasy formats on tonight’s six-game main slate.

Guard JJ Redick is out tonight for the Pelicans, and the likely beneficiary will be reserve guard Josh Hart. Hart ranks second on the Pelicans in minutes with Redick off the court this season, averaging 0.82 fantasy points per minute in that time. Hart will likely move into the starting lineup tonight for his fourth start of the season – one of those previous starts was also against Brooklyn – tonight’s opponent – and Hart put up 14 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 steals in that November 4th game.
Picking Up the Pace
An accelerated tempo could be in store tonight in the Nets/Pelicans game, and that is driving Spencer Dinwiddie’s solid projection tonight. He has started the last 15 games with Kyrie Irving hurt and has averaged almost 33 minutes per game to go along with 24 points, 7.4 assists and a handful of rebounds/steals/blocks. On a slate in which the superstars and value are both limited, Dinwiddie is a solid cash game piece.
Standout Knick Centerpiece for Cash
The 30+ point projection combined with a very favorable $4,500 price tag makes RJ Barrett the starting point for cash games at this time, at least on DraftKings. Over the last 3 games, Barrett has averaged 37+ minutes per game, which provides a safe floor play for your cash teams tonight.
