Cam Reddish (wrist) officially out Saturday
Reddish has officially been downgraded from doubtful and won’t play in Saturday’s second leg of a back-to-back set against the Toronto Raptors due to a sprained left wrist that’s now forced him to miss two games. In Reddish’s absence, DeAndre Bembry received the start alongside Trae Young in the backcourt and was phenomenal for fantasy purposes in 35 minutes of action, while Evan Turner was limited to just nine minutes off the bench and Chandler Parsons made just his second appearance of the season, logging 16 minutes. Jabari Parker has thrived with Reddish, Kevin Huerter, and John Collins off the court this season and is averaging 1.45 DraftKings and 1.41 FanDuel points per minute to go along with a 29.3% usage rate in a 104.0 minutes sample size.
As reported by: Chris Kirschner via TwitterChandler Hutchison (shin) active but won't start Saturday
Head coach Jim Boylen confirmed that Hutchison will be active and available off the bench for Saturday’s matchup against the Charlotte Hornets after missing two games due to bilateral shin splints. In his absence, Shaq Harrison has started both games at small forward, and he’s been extremely efficient for fantasy purposes despite playing just 23 minutes in Friday’s loss. It remains to be seen if Harrison has earned playing time over Hutchison moving forward, at least for the duration of Otto Porter Jr.‘s injury-related absence, but either way, Harrison and Hutchison seem to be easy players to avoid on tonight’s main slate with both players active.
As reported by: K.C. Johnson via TwitterBlake Griffin (hamstring) and Tony Snell (hip) listed out Saturday; Derrick Rose (foot) and Luke Kennard (hip) listed questionable
As expected, Griffin and Snell won’t play in Saturday’s second leg of a back-to-back set against the Milwaukee Bucks, while Derrick Rose and Luke Kennard are listed as questionable on the Pistons’ injury report due to their respective ailments. Christian Wood is listed as probable, but he is fully expected to play and should be responsible for absorbing a large chunk of the available power forward minutes with both Griffin and Snell sidelined. In fact, Wood’s season-high in total minutes played came the last time Griffin sat out for a back-to-back situation, and he was phenomenal from a fantasy perspective in 26 minutes of action. If Rose and Kennard are able to give it a go, they’ll both be intriguing tournament targets since they each see a minimum of a +1.5% increase in usage rate and average at least +0.06 more DraftKings and FanDuel points per minute with Griffin off the court this season
As reported by: K.C. Johnson via Twitter Other tagged players: Tony Snell, Derrick Rose, Luke KennardDamian Lillard (back) will play Saturday
As expected, Lillard will play in Saturday’s matchup against the Cleveland Cavaliers, despite calling himself a game-decision at Trail Blazers’ shootaround, after missing two games due to back spasms. There has yet to be any report of a potential minute restriction for Lillard, so he’ll more than likely displace Gary Trent Jr. from the starting lineup, and possibly the rotation, following his serviceable fantasy performance in 21 minutes of action in Thursday’s win. With Hassan Whiteside unavailable for Thursday’s loss, Anthony Tolliver ended receiving the start at center and logged 31 minutes of action compared to the 28 minutes Skal Labissiere recorded off the bench. Labissiere figures land in a similar minute range in tonight’s contest, but he projects as more of a FanDuel specific option considering his elevated price on DraftKings, even though he is currently averaging 1.04 DraftKings and 1.06 FanDuel points per minute on the season.
As reported by: Chris Haynes via TwitterMalcolm Brogdon (back) and Jakarr Sampson (back) out Saturday
As expected, Brogdon and Sampson won’t play in Saturday’s matchup against the Orlando Magic, while Jeremy Lamb and T.J. McConnell will make their returns from their respective injury absences in tonight’s contest. There’s been no report of a minute restriction for either player, and head coach Nate McMillan already confirmed that Lamb will start at the shooting guard position alongside Aaron Holiday in the backcourt. Holiday remains cheap enough on FanDuel to be considered in all daily fantasy formats, but he’s too priced up on DraftKings to be seriously considered as a roster option with his substantially lower minute floor now that Lamb and McConnell are officially active.
As reported by: Tony East via Twitter Other tagged players: JaKarr SampsonJosh Okogie (knee) out Saturday; Treveon Graham (arm) available to play
Okogie has officially been downgraded from questionable and won’t play in Saturday’s matchup against the Phoenix Suns due to a sore left knee, and he’ll join Robert Covington and Shabazz Napier on the Timberwolves’ inactive list, while Graham is available to play following his brief questionable designation. Head coach Ryan Saunders has opted to shake-up his starting lineup once again by rolling with Jarrett Culver over Graham at small forward, and Vonleh will draw the start at power forward with Covington away from the team for personal reasons. Andrew Wiggins returned from a three-game absence in Wednesday’s loss and logged 34 minutes, so he’ll presumably be a full-go moving forward and is currently enjoying the most efficient season of his young career.
As reported by: Timberwolves PR via Twitter Other tagged players: Treveon GrahamAlex Caruso (calf) questionable Saturday
Caruso has been upgraded from doubtful and is now questionable for Saturday’s matchup against the Memphis Grizzlies due to a strained right calf, while Anthony Davis is listed with his now customary probable designation with a sore right shoulder. With the Lakers getting healthier in recent days, Caruso has been limited to 21 or fewer minutes in each of the previous three games, so Quinn Cook would be the likeliest candidate to step into Caruso’s potentially vacated role while Troy Daniels could possibly rejoin the rotation if head coach Frank Vogel doesn’t opt to condense his rotation to nine players sans Caruso this evening.
As reported by: Ryan Ward via TwitterRicky Rubio (back) officially out Saturday
As expected, Rubio won’t play in Saturday’s matchup against the Minnesota Timberwolves due to back spasms that have now forced him to miss two games, while Frank Kaminsky will start once again with Aron Baynes still sidelined with a right hip contusion. Tyler Johnson will start a second straight game at point guard with Rubio unavailable, and he was relatively serviceable in 29 minutes of action in Thursday’s loss. A majority of the backup point guard minutes in that contest went to Elie Okobo, who logged 20 minutes, and Jevon Carter was forced to the end of the rotation and was limited to just two stints off the bench, totaling nine minutes.
As reported by: Duane Rankin via TwitterRudy Gobert (ankle) questionable Saturday
Gobert has been included on the Jazz injury report and is questionable for Saturday’s matchup against the New Orleans Pelicans due to a sprained left ankle. Gobert was able to log 35 minutes and closeout Friday’s win with the other Utah starters, so it’s unclear when he actually sustained the aforementioned injury. Head coach Quin Snyder has been utilizing a combination of Tony Bradley and Jeff Green as the backup center depending on lineup variations, so they’d be the likeliest candidates to see an increase in playing time if Gobert is ruled out this evening.
As reported by: Eric Walden via TwitterErsan Ilyasova (heel) listed out Saturday
Ilyasova is a new addition to the Bucks’ injury report and won’t play in Saturday’s matchup against the Detroit Pistons due to a sore left heel. Ilyasova has been limited to 16 or fewer minutes in seven of his previous eight games, so his absence shouldn’t have too much of a meaningful impact on the remaining members of the frontcourt rotation. D.J. Wilson could essentially just step into Ilyasova’s vacated role in the second unit, but it will be difficult for him to become relevant for daily fantasy formats in what will likely be limited action off the Milwaukee bench.
As reported by: NBA Official Injury ReportKevin Love (back) listed questionable Saturday
Love has been listed as questionable the Cavaliers’ updated injury report for Saturday’s matchup against the Portland Trail Blazers due to a low back contusion that also forced him to miss Monday’s loss. Love was able to record 25 minutes in just three-quarters of action in Friday’s blowout loss, so he’ll presumably be a full-go if he’s cleared to play in tonight’s second leg of a back-to-back set. Larry Nance Jr. was also unavailable the last time Love was sidelined, so he’d more than likely step into the starting lineup this time around if Love is ruled out, and he was phenomenal from a fantasy perspective in his spot start in 35 minutes of action in Wednesday’s loss. Kevin Porter Jr. doesn’t have a stable minute floor, but he could be an intriguing punt in tournament formats considering he has a 22.8% usage and is averaging 0.88 DraftKings and 0.86 FanDuel points per minute with Love off the court this season.
As reported by: NBA Official Injury ReportChandler Hutchison (shins) listed probable Saturday
Hutchison has been listed as probable on the updated version of the Bulls’ injury report for Saturday’s matchup against the Charlotte Hornets due to bilateral shin splints that already forced him to miss two games. In his absence, Shaq Harrison has started both games at small forward, and he’s been extremely efficient for fantasy purposes despite playing just 23 minutes in Friday’s loss. It remains to be seen if Harrison has earned playing time over Hutchison moving forward, at least for the duration of Otto Porter Jr.‘s injury-related absence, but either way, Harrison and Hutchison are easy players to avoid on tonight’s main slate if both players are active.
As reported by: NBA Official Injury ReportDejounte Murray (recovery) listed out Saturday; Derrick White (foot) probable
Murray has been listed out on the Spurs’ injury report and won’t play in Saturday’s second leg of a back-to-back set against the New York Knicks due to rest purposes, while White is now probable after missing two games with a sore left foot. Murray rejoined the starting lineup in Friday’s loss, but he was still limited to just 23 minutes as the Spurs continue to be ultra-cautious with his minute totals in the early going of the season. There’s been no report of a potential minute restriction for White in his first game back, so he’ll likely be in consideration for the starting nod at point guard along with Patty Mills, who was extremely effective for fantasy purposes in 30 minutes of action in his most recent spot start in Wednesday’s loss.
As reported by: NBA Official Injury ReportCam Reddish (wrist) questionable Saturday; Evan Turner (Achilles) probable
Reddish is listed as questionable for Saturday’s second leg of a back-to-back set against the Toronto Raptors due to a sprained left wrist that’s already forced him to miss one game, while Evan Turner continues to be listed as probable with left Achilles pain. In Reddish’s absence, DeAndre Bembry received the start alongside Trae Young in the backcourt and was phenomenal for fantasy purposes in 35 minutes of action, while Turner was limited to just nine minutes off the bench and Chandler Parsons made just his second appearance of the season, logging 16 minutes. Additionally, Jabari Parker has thrived with Reddish, Kevin Huerter, and John Collins off the court this season and is averaging 1.45 DraftKings and 1.41 FanDuel points per minute to go along with a 29.3% usage rate in a 104.2 minutes sample size.
As reported by: Brad Rowland via Twitter Other tagged players: Evan Turner$3,000 Punt Starting
It’s rare that we get a $3,000 player starting and today we get that. I understand this isn’t the sexiest game on the slate but Iwundu is really only $3,000. I don’t want to overlook that at all here. Iwundu may not be a high usage guy but he’s only $3,000 and sees a usage bump and a .12 fantasy point per minute bump with Vuc. and Gordon off the court. I know it’s a small sample but Iwundu is a salary guy that you want to consider in cash and tournaments.
