Strong Per Minute Producer
Aaron Gordon is questionable once again on Friday night and if he’s unable to go Jonathan Isaac would be in line for another 30 minutes of court time in a favorable matchup against Phoenix. Isaac has been a strong per minute fantasy producer when he’s been healthy enough to play and is even a fringe value option if Gordon is active which would reduce his minutes to the mid-20’s.

Marcin Gortat (back) says he's "good to play" Thursday
Gortat confirmed with reporters that he’s good to go and will be available to play in Thursday’s matchup against the Sacramento Kings despite dealing with back spasms that forced him to miss Wednesday’s win. There’s been no word that Gortat will be subject to a minute restriction, so he’ll presumably assume his normal role in the starting lineup at center, which will send Boban Marjanovic back to the bench following his impressive fantasy performance in 19 minutes of action in his spot start. Gortat has played between 15-18 minutes in each of his last five games, so he obviously remains out of fantasy consideration himself, and his presence in the rotation renders Boban useless for daily fantasy formats as the big man has been a DNP-CD in five of the Clippers last eight games.

Ball has officially been upgraded from questionable and will start in Thursday’s matchup against the Indiana Pacers despite dealing with a sprained left ankle he sustained during Tuesday’s loss. Ball has averaged 29.7 minutes in the five full games he’s played since Rajon Rondo suffered a fractured right hand, so he remains in consideration for tournaments on most slates given his ability to rack up peripheral statistics without relying solely on scoring. Ball owns an uninspiring 15.8% usage rate with Rondo off the court, but an average of 0.93 DraftKings and 0.91 FanDuel points per minute on the season just provides further evidence of his contributions in other stat categories.

Koufos is listed as out on the most recent version of the Kings’ injury report and won’t play in Thursday’s matchup against the Los Angeles Clippers after originally being listed as questionable with a strained right calf that’s kept him sidelined for the previous seven games. Even when Koufos is cleared to play, there’s no guarantee he’ll crack the rotation with the emergence of Marvin Bagley and Harry Giles in the second unit, as Bagley has logged at least 30 minutes in each of the last two games and Giles is coming off of a career-best performance in 20 minutes of action in Sunday’s loss. This rotational shift has directly affected the minute floor of Willie Cauley-Stein as well, and he’s averaged just 21.5 minutes as the starting center in the Kings previous two contests.

Gortat is officially questionable for Thursday’s matchup against the Sacramento Kings due to back spasms that already forced him to miss Wednesday’s win. The Clippers did recall Jonathan Motley from the G-League earlier this afternoon, so that doesn’t bode well for the possibility of a return this evening. Gortat has played between 15-18 minutes in each of his last five games, so his potential absence won’t necessarily free up a bunch of playing time in the frontcourt, though Boban Marjanovic would likely continue to assume the role as the starting center and should be expected to play minutes in the upper-teens. Boban is always worth a shot in tournaments with his 25.5% usage rate and an average of 1.47 DraftKings and 1.52 FanDuel points per minute, but Montrezl Harrell could be an interesting tournament play as well, especially with Sacramento preferring to utilize big lineup combinations with Willie Cauley-Stein, Marvin Bagley, and Harry Giles all logging substantial minutes in the frontcourt.

Collison and Joseph are both picking up some extra minutes for the Pacers with Victor Oladipo on the shelf, and both are in play for DFS purposes. I will let salary be my guide here, with Collison being bargain-priced on DK/FDRAFT and Joseph being bargain-priced on FD. Both are solid plays on the sites where you can get them at a discount, and we desperately need some value on this slate. Fire them up in a pace-up matchup against the Lakers.

Breakout Season In The Works
What we have seen from Montrezl Harrell this year has been downright impressive. He has a high ceiling, he is a hyper-efficient fantasy player, and he has also developed a very safe floor. He has topped 30 fantasy points in TEN straight games, and I wouldn’t expect that to end in a matchup against the up-tempo Kings. This game should play exactly into Harrell’s skill set, and even though he’s now more expensive than he has ever been, the floor/ceiling combination is fantastic here.
A Top Option On A Short Slate
I think that Leonard will absolutely show up for a big home game against the Warriors. He will be tasked with playing a ton of minutes in the hopes of keeping Kevin Durant in check, and Leonard has clearly been the leader for this Raptors team with averages of 24 points and eight rebounds per game on the year to go along with a top ten ranking in the league in steals.
The Forgotten Man
On a three game slate, there’s still potential for Thompson to be a slate-breaking GPP option. In prior years, we always worried about his efficiency, but Thompson’s usage is up by 5% this year without Curry on the floor, and he’s scoring 4-5 additional fantasy points per 36 minutes. I really like him tonight as a GPP option that might be relatively low owned despite the short nature of the slate today.

Booker has surprisingly been upgraded from doubtful and will start in Wednesday’s matchup against the Los Angeles Clippers despite reportedly dealing with a left great toe injury, while T.J. Warren has also been cleared to play following his brief questionable designation on the injury report due to a sore right ankle. The Suns are on the second night of a back-to-back set and didn’t hold a shootaround this morning, so it remains unclear when Booker and Warren sustained their unreported injuries. There’s been no confirmation if De’Anthony Melton is back with the team after being sent to the G-League yesterday, and if he’s not, Elie Okobo would be in line for a significant role as the backup point guard following the release of Isaiah Canaan earlier this afternoon. That news only provides more clarity to head coach Igor Kokoskov’s new-look starting lineup and rotation, and it should enable Mikal Bridges to consistently see starters’ minutes with only Jamal Crawford and Josh Jackson left to battle for reserve wing minutes.
