Fred VanVleet available to play Friday
The Raptors will get a boost to their bench on Friday, as Fred VanVleet will be available to return for Game 6. VanVleet has been dealing with a shoulder injury, and has played just a grand total of 3 minutes in this series. Look for him to play anywhere from 14-18 minutes tonight. With VanVleet coming back, this hurts the value of Delon Wright.
As reported by: Josh Lewenberg via twitterOtto Porter ruled out Friday
The Wizards will be without Otto Porter for game 6 tonight versus Toronto. Porter is going to get a leg procedure done today, and would also be out for a game 7, if there’s one. Kelly Oubre will start ahead of Porter, and would become the top value play on the slate. Mike Scott will also see some more minutes off the bench tonight.
As reported by: Candace Buckner via TwitterTrying to Keep the Season Alive
Oladipo hasn’t played well since the first game of this series, but we know the upside is there after his Game 1 performance. I expect him to try to take over this game to keep the Pacers alive, and the ownership will be very low after the past few duds. I would not go here as a top-end play in cash games, but there is absolutely GPP potential here. The risk is part of it, but the upside could win you a GPP if he has a big night and one of the other studs disappoints.
A Rock Solid Play at a Weak Position
Don’t forget about Favors at the ugly power forward spot this evening. He was limited by foul trouble in Game 5, and that’s a good part of the reason why the Thunder were able to come back from a huge deficit. The Jazz should show up with a focused performance tonight as they try to close out the series, and Favors will be a big part of it. He’s a key piece of this team and has shown flashes of strong play in this series — as long as he can stay out of foul trouble.
A Top Value Play
Otto Porter clearly isn’t healthy and is listed as questionable for tonight’s game. Regardless of whether or not he plays, Oubre makes a lot of sense as an option at small forward. His price tag is fair, he’s going to be a healthy chunk of minutes in any case, and he has some upside potential. He becomes a lock in all formats if Porter is out, but I almost hope that Porter is active in order to lower Oubre’s ownership in GPP formats. He is a top value play in any case.
To the Window....
To the Wall! John Wall has already topped 60 fantasy points three times in this series. With the Wizards in an elimination game at home, we can expect 40+ minutes from Wall tonight and he’s likely going to be aggressive right from the opening tip. The Raptors don’t have an answer for him and he’s clearly in a better matchup than Russell Westbrook, who has really only had one good game in his series against the Jazz. Dollar for dollar, Wall is my top superstar of the slate and is viable in all formats.
Time to Finish the Series
The Jazz should have won Game 5 in Oklahoma City. They were up by 25 points at one point in the third quarter. While that’s a tough way to lose a game, they head back home for Game 6 with another chance to close out the series. Ricky Rubio has played at an All-Star type of level so far in this series. He does so much on the floor (rebounds, assists, steals) that he offers a high floor and a high ceiling, making him a strong play in both cash games and tournaments.
Value at Center
There have been five games played in this series so far. If we take out the one game where Marcin Gortat got into early foul trouble, he has averaged 29 minutes and 23 fantasy points in the other four. Basically, he has offered a high floor for a player priced below $5,000 on both FanDuel and DraftKings. With their season on the line, I wouldn’t be surprised if Gortat played minutes in the low-30s tonight, especially if he is productive early.
Deja Vu At Point Guard
Another slate; another night to play Rubio in cash games on DK. Despite shooting a combined 8 for 26 the past two games, he has still grinded out 35 and 36 DK points. I expect Rubio to have a big night in this close out game at home, and the price tag is still perfect to attack in cash games. We have seen how rock solid the floor is, and all it takes is a few more shots to go down for him to flash the ceiling.
Need To Jam Him In On FanDuel
Despite the price tag coming back up, I think we need to jam in LeBron in cash games at small forward to pair with Oubre. I don’t trust Porter due to the injury, and PG13 saw the price tag come up to $8,400. The position on small forward falls off of a cliff after those four guys. As such, I am making The King and Oubre the priorities. LeBron is a great play too on DK/FDRFT if you are comfortable with the cheap plays, although it is a much taller task on those sites.
Some Nice Savings In The Mid Tier
Oubre looks like a nice source of salary relief regardless of the status of Otto Porter. If Porter is out, Oubre obviously becomes the chalk. However, even if Porter plays, he is obviously going to be limited. Oubre has been a trusted piece in the playoff rotation, especially the last four games. He makes a ton of sense as a cheap play for cash games. I am not as enamored with the upside for tournaments unless Porter is ruled out.
Tons Of Safety Here In Cash Games
Wall has been the epitome of safety through the first five games of Round 1. And in the past two games, Scott Brooks has ran him out there for 43 minutes. I would not be surprised to see the same thing tonight in an elimination game back home. Due to the insane minutes, the floor is extremely stable here. And you are getting a big discount compared to the other two high priced studs on this slate. Wall is my priority on this slate if you are playing cash games.
Thon Maker listed as starter
John Henson has missed the last three games, and Tyler Zeller has started in all those games for Henson. Now, for game 6 the Bucks will switch things up and start Thon Maker. This really doesn’t change anyway, as Maker was seeing more minutes, although Zeller was starting. Maker may see a couple more extra minutes tonight, being that he’s starting. Maker played well in the 1st two games without Henson, but he struggled in the last game fouling out in 23 minutes of action. He scored just two points.
As reported by: Matt Velazquez via twitterSemi Ojeleye will remain in the starting lineup
Semi Ojeleye will remain in the starting lineup tonight for game 6 versus the Bucks, he was a surprise starter last game. In game 5, Ojeleye played 31 minutes, but finished with just 12.4 FDP. Ojeleye saw extra minutes because of his defensive play. Still, with only one game tonight he makes for a nice value play.
As reported by: Mark Murphy via twitterThe Clear Top Option of the Night
My “hot take” in today’s premium expert survey is that Giannis outscores everyone else by at least 20 fantasy points, so I suppose that means he has to be my top overall play by a wide margin. He simply dwarfs anyone else in this game with upside, and it seems logical to lock him in and diversify your lineups elsewhere. If you fade Giannis and he goes nuts, there’s literally zero chance that you will cash. Stars also tend to rise up to the occasion when their team is on the brink of being eliminated from the playoffs, especially in home games. I think the Bucks get it done behind their star this evening.
