Going To Get First Crack at Rubio's Minutes
In the decisive Game 6 against the Thunder, Jae Crowder picked up the majority of Rubio’s minutes playing a series=high 31 minutes. With the Jazz playing the up-tempo Rockets, I expect Crowder to get inserted into the starting lineup and pick up 28-33 minutes. At Jae’s price tag across the industry those type of minutes makes him one of the elite value plays on the slate. Crowder depends on the three-ball for his GPP upside, but against the Rockets he shouldn’t have a lack of attempts, so it will come down to if he makes them or not.
Will the Minutes Be There?
Ryan Anderson came back from a long injury spell with an ankle injury, and he was limited intentionally in the Timberwolves series to 12-16 minutes a game. Aow after a few more days of rest, could he be a 20-24 minute guy? The Jazz present Ryan Anderson an opportunity to serve as a stretch four against Derek Favors or cover a Jae Crowder or Royce O’Neale when they play the small ball four. This is risky, but on a slate without many GPP value options, Anderson can be the guy that helps you fit LeBron and Oladipo into your teams.
Nick Young will start Saturday, JaVale McGee to the bench
The Warriors will go small ball right off the bat, as Nick Young will enter the starting lineup for game 1 versus the Pelicans. JaVale McGee will head to the bench after playing well versus San Antonio. It was rumored that Kevon Looney might start, but he should still get some decent minutes off the bench. Young is worth a look for your DFS lineups, as he is dirt cheap.
As reported by: Mark Medina via TwitterStephen Curry ruled out Saturday
Despite participating in shoot-around this morning, Stephen Curry will continue to be out with a knee injury. It’s clear the Warriors are being cautious with Curry, but Steve Kerr said it’s very likely that Curry will play in game 2 on Tuesday versus the Pelicans.
As reported by: Steve Kerr via twitterFavorite Spend Up Option
If I had to build a player that would dominate the Warriors, he would look a lot like Anthony Davis. In his three games this season Davis is averaging 64.3 DraftKings points per game against the Warriors and I expect a big game from him today. This is the game to target and he is my favorite spend up option. I also like spending on him on FanDuel because Center is so weak, he almost feels like a must play on FanDuel. Overall he is my top scoring option on the slate and someone that I will be jamming into all my lineups.
Playoff Rondo
Rondo comes out when it’s playoff time and he certainly has so far. On Fanduel where you have to play two point guards Rondo is an absolute lock at only $7100 and will be in all my lineups. I even like his price on DraftKings at $7500 the only way I don’t play him is if I just spend $300 more on Jrue Holiday.Either way I think you could play both and I think Rondo is one of the elite point guard plays on this slate.
Top Value of the Slate
The more and more I think about it, I really think E’Twaun Moore could be the best value on the board. $3900 is way too cheap for him and he will see a ton of minutes and has a safe floor with 40 point upside. On this slate we want to jam in a stud or two if we can and I think Moore is a key to making that work and is one of the best value plays on the board.
Bucks Need Brogdon in Game 7
If the Bucks want to steal game 7 from the Celtics they are going to need to make some 3’s which they’ve struggled to do in Boston most of the series. Brogdon is their X-factor to make shots from the perimeter and he’s had a bunch of good looks that just haven’t fallen. If they fall today the Bucks will be in much better shape and your DFS rosters will be in much better shape than the competition as well.
Horford To Lead Celtics in Game 7
Everyone has counted the Celtics out of this series numerous times (and even today most experts in Expert Survey believe the Bucks will win), but Al Horford has other ideas. Al Horford has averaged 18-9 this series and in a Game 7 he could potentially play all 48 minutes tonight. Horford as the last healthy max player on the Celtics has been a force all series long and I expect him to do so again tonight in a Celtics victory, make sure he’s in your GPP lineups.
Game 7 Minutes
Win or Go Home Game 7’s are awesome for DFS purposes because you know the starters are going to play huge minutes. Tatum has played well this series but hasn’t had the huge minutes you’d expect but that should fly out the window today. Look for Tatum to take 16-20 shots over 34-38 minutes in this game 7!
A Solid Value Play
There’s not much to say here other than we have a solid value play on a slate that doesn’t offer a ton of value. Moore is not a sexy DFS name, but he generally gets the job done for a fantasy output in the mid-20’s at a reasonable cost. There’s no reason to think that won’t continue in a new series against a Golden State team that will gladly run with New Orleans here.
Shining in the Playoffs
Inconsistency is often the nature of Rondo’s game, but he was surprisingly steady in New Orleans’ first round win over the Blazers. If you use the DK/FDRAFT scoring system, he logged between 39 and 45 fantasy points in all four games. The minutes are no longer a question mark, and they have smartly saved him for the postseason. New Orleans should be well rested after a week off, and Rondo will need to come up big if they want to hang against Golden State. This game has a huge Vegas total and should feature plenty of fantasy goodness, with Rondo being a big part of it.
Time to Shine on the Big Stage
Young stars have to start building their legacy in the playoffs. This is the perfect spot for Giannis to make his biggest stride toward doing that. It’s Game 7. It’s a road game in the iconic Boston Garden, or whatever they call the place now. I think he shines on the big stage and starts to build his career resume with a statement win in the playoffs. I expect him to be on triple-double watch with a massive game here.
New Series, Better Matchup
I love this spot for Thompson. He’s largely going to get ignored because he struggled in the opening series, but this profiles as a much better matchup for him. This series will be played at a much quicker pace on both sides, and he should find a lot more open looks from long range. The price tag is also more affordable now, which is a nice bonus. Fire up Thompson as a high upside play, especially in GPP formats.
George Hill ruled out Friday
George Hill will miss his third straight game with an back injury. Jose Calderon will once again start for Hill, but he will just see about 20 minutes of action. In the last two games, he is averaging 5.5 points, 2 rebounds, and 1 assist per game.
