A Building Block Guard To Consider
The Chicago Bulls continue to be a good team to attack with opposing point guards, and that’s who Goran Dragic gets to face on Sunday. The Bulls are allowing the 6th most fantasy points to point guards and are tied for second to last in the NBA in defensive efficiency as a team. Dragic has been hot, averaging 40 DraftKings points through his last two games. Fellow teammate Hassan Whiteside is also banged up and enters Sunday’s game with a questionable tag. It sounds like Whiteside will play, but if he misses the game, expect Dragic to assume even more of the offensive responsibilities.
This Big Man Is Doing It All
Gasol is the guy I’m looking at to be my cash game building block given the elite matchup. Brandan Wright is also out, which should force the Grizzlies to rely on Gasol even more. Gasol leads the team in minutes per game (34.7), points per game (19.1), rebounds per game (9.3), assists per game (4.3) and blocks per game (1.7). In other words, he’s a one-man wrecking crew and carrying this team on his back while Mike Conley is out injured.
Omri Casspi will start for Kevin Durant (OUT) tonight
Casspi was a good source of DFS value last night, playing 25 minutes and should see that kind of playing time tonight and be a viable play again as he’s in the starting lineup with the Warriors’ All-Star forward, Kevin Durant out.

Jaylen Brown OUT tonight for Celtics
Brown was unable to make it back to the team in time to play after attending the funeral of a friend. Daniel Theis will start and is the obvious beneficiary while Jayson Tatum will pick up extra playing time. Given a game where the Celtics likely blow out their opponent, Semi Ojeleye is an intriguing option.

It’ll be the dreaded Kyle O’Quinn chalk night as not only will Kanter not play tonight but fellow big man and the best player on the Knicks, Porzingis, will also sit due to lower back tightness tonight. O’Quinn is a obvious value option with Willy Hernangomez, Michael Beasley, and Lance Thomas all receiving significant increases in playing time.

The two were listed as questionable but were expected to play after taking part in practice yesterday – both are viable options in a favorable matchup against the Knicks.

He was listed as questionable after suffering a quad injury in last night’s game. He was able to play through it, however, and is available to play tonight. He’s not a viable DFS option facing the Boston Celtics.

After injuring his elbow on Wednesday and sitting out last night’s game, Batum will play and return to the starting lineup for Charlotte tonight. Jeremy Lamb will lose much of the value he displayed last night and is also a hit to the value of Michael Kidd-Gilchrist. It’s a touch matchup anyway against the defensive minded San Antonio Spurs so avoiding them in your rosters is even easier now.

Teague was a late scratch after lock last night and is questionable for Minnesota. Aaron Brooks got the start in his absence but it was Tyus Jones who took the spotlight and would be the play if Teague sits out again tomorrow. Bjelica has a nominal role in the Twolves rotation and is not a fantasy impact. We’ll update you on the status of Teague tomorrow when more information comes in.

The Pacers star guard injured his knee last night and it appeared to be minor but the team has ruled him out on the second night of a back-to-back. Lance Stephenson is the biggest beneficiary and automatically becomes a top value option with Cory Joseph and Bojan Bogdanovic also likely players to receive additional playing time. Some usage beneficiaries include Thaddeus Young, Darren Collison, and Myles Turner but everyone but Stephenson is a risky play given the tough matchup against the Celtics.

The Lakers forward broke his hand early this month and looks as if he is going to return a bit earlier than anticipated as he’s been going through on the court work this week with a wrap on his injured hand. This will be a slight hit to the value of Kyle Kuzma and Julius Randle as they’ll lose a few minutes of playing time.

The Heat big man sat out today’s practice due to a sore left knee and is considered questionable for their game tomorrow against the Chicago Bulls. The team doesn’t seem overly concerned about Whiteside’s status but he did miss time earlier this season with the same injury. It’s something to keep an eye on and we’ll update you tomorrow when more information becomes available.

We’ll need to wait until tomorrow to get any kind of confirmation on this one, but Booker is currently listed as questionable with a toe issue. If he’s unable to play, T.J. Warren will become an elite target across the board and we should expect guys like Tyler Ulis, Greg Monroe and Josh Jackson. Mike James actually leads the Suns in usage rate with Booker off the floor this season (32.3% usage rate in 143 minutes), so he would become a dark-horse GPP play on tomorrow’s small slate if Booker is indeed out. Josh Jackson should see an uptick in court time and would also become a viable punt play in tournaments.

Kevin Durant officially ruled out; Iguodala still probable
Durant has now been officially ruled out after previously being listed as doubtful. Stephen Curry owns a 40.2% usage rate with Durant off the floor this season while Klay Thompson sits at a healthy 30.1%. Curry’s 40.2% is a whopping +9.2% differential from his seasonal total while Thompson gets a 4.2% bump, so target both freely in a game that should stay competitive for far longer than last night’s meeting with Chicago. Andre Iguodala is still listed as probable, so we should still expect him to suit up at this point despite the fact that he was added to the injury report mid-day.

It’s usually not good news to see a player added to the injury report mid-day, but the fact that Iguodala is still listed as probable would seem to suggest he’s not in much danger of missing this one. Kevin Durant looks set to miss at least another game, but Omri Casspi started in his place Friday with Jordan Bell starting for Draymond Green, which left Iguodala to tend to his typical allotment of court time (before the game got out of hand). Assuming Durant sits again this evening, Stephen Curry is an elite target across the board while Klay Thompson’s value also takes a nice uptick.
