Let's Try This Again

Last Friday didn’t work out all that well for Warren, as he was forced to leave the game early with a head injury. If we throw that fluke game out the window, though, Warren continues to play well under interim coach Jay Triano. In the other four November contests, he is averaging a healthy 23 points and eight rebounds per game. His minutes have consistently been in the mid 30’s, and he is right there with Devin Booker with a 30% usage rate over the last two weeks. This is a friendly matchup against an Orlando team that ranks among the bottom ten teams in the league in defensive efficiency, making this a great spot for Warren.

A Logical Risk/Reward GPP Play

Donovan Mitchell has taken the NBA by storm in his rookie season, and the Jazz actually started him in the second half for their last game. He has also shown an ability to be aggressive, as he is averaging 19 shot attempts per game in four November contests. That’s the good news. The bad news is that he is shooting just 34% from the floor for the season, and that includes a 3-for-21 nightmare in the last game. The inconsistency will be maddening, but that helps put him on the GPP radar almost every night. The matchup isn’t necessarily great against the Heat tonight, but the minutes are trending in the right direction and the price tag remains very reasonable. Mitchell is a great risk/reward value again tonight. The minutes should be safe in the low-30’s regardless of whether or not he starts.

He's Baaaaack!

BE SURE TO MONITOR INJURY STATUS (UPDATED 3 PM EST)

The inconsistent, maddening, tempting upside but basement-level floor fantasy player known as Elfrid Payton is back from injury. In theory, he should return with a much safer floor given all the issues the Magic have had at the point guard position. D.J. Augustin is sidelined, and the Magic were rolling some lineups without a point guard on the floor while Payton was out. There is a clear path to major minutes here, and the Magic draw a very favorable matchup against a fast-paced, defensively-challenged Suns team this evening. Payton returned to the lineup with an 11/6/11 line the other night, and he played almost 30 minutes in that game. I would expect more court time tonight, and the matchup makes him a massive upside play in tournaments.

Vince Carter is officially out tonight

Carter is out with Kidney stones and won’t play tonight vs. the Sixers. Look for Buddy Hield and Justin Jackson to pick up the minutes created by Carter’s absence.

Jarret Allen is out Friday

Rookie Jarret Allen has been ruled out of his fifth straight game due to a strained left foot. Rondae Hollis-Jefferson and Trevor Booker both participated in practice on Thursday and are officially questionable in advance of Friday’s contest vs. the Blazers. Booker has missed the last three games and RJH has only missed the last game. The Nets do a good job of spreading the minutes around to where no player logs more than 28 minutes a game.

Luc Mbah a Moute is out

Mbah a Moute tried to give it a go pre-game but he was not able to feel comfortable playing with the injury and is out for tonight. Most likely a seven-man rotation for the Rockets tonight.

Luc Mbah a Moute likely out today

Coach Mike D’Antoni confirmed pre-game that Mbah a Moute is trying to get ready for Thursday’s game vs. the Cavs, but he is unlikely to play due to a left knee bone bruise. If Mbah a Moute sits the already tight Rockets rotation will get even tighter. Look for both Ryan Anderson and P.J. Tucker to play extended minutes if this injury news holds.

Dennis Schroder probable for Friday

Early season injuries have plagued the Hawks and leading into Friday’s matchup vs. The Pistons the team has seven players listed on the injury report. The good news for The Hawks is that three of the seven are listed as probable. In addition to Dennis Schroder, The Hawks have Marco Belinelli and Malcolm Delaney listed as probable on Friday. Mike Muscala is doubtful, and the Hawks will remain without Ersan Ilyasova, DeAndre Bembry, and Miles Plumlee on Friday.

Tyson Chandler misses practice remains questionable for Friday

The Suns are preparing to play their seventh game in eleven days, and veteran center Tyson Chandler may miss his second game in a row due to back spasms. Alex Len drew the spot start in place of the injured Chandler and he disappointed the DFS community with a 19 min foul-plagued night in Wednesday’s loss to the Heat. The Suns have plenty of able bodies to fill in if Len gets off to another poor start, so while the upside is still in play his minutes are not exactly safe. If last night’s performance reminded us of anything it’s that Len is not exactly the best place to look for secure points when injuries arise.

Domantas Sabonis remains questionable for Friday

The Pacers second-year power forward is listed questionable for Friday’s contest vs. the Bulls after missing two consecutive games with a right calf contusion. In ten games this season Sabonis is averaging 13 points and 10 rebounds. If Sabonis is unable to go look for both Al Jefferson and rookie T.J. Leaf to get a boost in minutes.

Austin Rivers questionable for Friday

Rivers suffered a sprained left ankle in Thursday’s practice and is officially questionable to play on Friday vs. The Thunder. The Clippers could be incredibly thin in the backcourt as opening day starters Patrick Beverley and Milos Teodosic are in line to miss Friday’s game. Juwan Evans and Sindarius Thornwell could see extended minutes if Rivers is unable to play, but Lou Williams would remain as the strongest play in this weakened Clippers backcourt. With Danilo Gallinari also out of Friday’s game, The Clippers will have to lean on depth with injuries to multiple starters. Wesley Johnson got the start for Gallinari’s vs the Spurs and was able to score 26.0 DraftKings points in 33 minutes of action.

Tyler Johnson is probable for Friday

Shortly after lineups locked on Wednesday we got the news that Tyler Johnson would sit due to an illness. Johnson was able to practice with the team today and looks to be inline to play on Friday. In a less than desirable matchup vs The Jazz this versatile backup guard should return to his 27 minutes a game.

Vince Carter questionable Thursday

Vince Carter ( illness) is questionable ahead of today’s matchup vs the Sixers. The 40-year-old Carter has not played more than 17 minutes in any game this season and his absence should open a few more playing minutes for rookie Justin Jackson. The 15h overall pick in last year’s draft played a career-high 30 minutes in a win over the Thunder on Tuesday.

I'm Under Priced Tonight

I think the sites have done a great job raising prices this season, but there have been a few guys that continue to be underpriced. Redick is only $4,600 on DraftKings tonight, and he has at least 27 DK points in three of his last four games. With Temple starting for the Kings, it’s a plus matchup for Redick tonight. He has double-digit shot attempts in all but two games this season, and presents 7x upside at his current DK price.

Al Horford is out Friday

The Celtics will without Al Horford for at least another game. Still recovering from a concussion, Horford will miss his second consecutive game. Aron Baynes drew the start on Wednesday in Horford’s absence and posted a very respectable 34.5 DraftKings points in 23 minutes of action. The Celtics also announced that Jayson Tatum is questionable for Friday’s game with a sore right ankle.
