MLB DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Wednesday, May 15
Who is your favorite hitter to spend up for in cash games?
squirrelpatrol: Ronald Acuna
stevietpfl: Matt Olson (FD) / Corey Seager (DK)
TheLuuch: Corey Seager
Dean78904: Kyle Tucker
Who is your favorite sneaky stack on the board and why?
squirrelpatrol: Rays – The Rays are getting a major ballpark upgrade hitting in Fenway, and they will get the benefit of guaranteed 9th-inning plate appearances as well. Tanner Houck isn’t a pitcher people will want to pick on, but the Rays have three hitters in their lineup (Yandy Diaz, Josh Lowe, and Isaac Paredes) with a wOBA over .367 against RHP since the start of last season, and the team also ranks 5th in stolen bases.
stevietpfl: Dodgers – We currently have the Dodgers projected for less than 8% ownership on our Top Stacks tool. With the Astros, Rangers, and Braves all in good spots, it’s going to lower the ownership of the Dodgers. Logan Webb is an above-average pitcher. With that said, he has a below-average strikeout rate, and he allows a lot of hard contact. On the season, he has a 50.3% hard-hit rate, which is bottom 3% in baseball. He also has a .306 xBA, which is bottom 4%. This offense is too good, and I love the upside at low pOWN%.
TheLuuch: Yankees – Of course, Pablo Lopez is on the other side of this matchup. It’s only days like today when you’ll be able to steal the Yankees on a slate. Lopez has been brilliant this season, but there is no doubt that he’s had a cupcake schedule. He has given up a ton of hard contact, and the Yankees have a handful of guys that can break any slate. Lopez hasn’t been perfect, as he’s given up 4+ earned runs in 3 of his 8 starts. He’s projected to be one of the two highest-owned pitchers. You could do a lot worse than sprinkle in some low-owned stacks that include Aaron Judge, Juan Soto, and/or Giancarlo Stanton.
Dean78904: Yankees – Attacking the “best” pitcher on the slate doesn’t feel like a great idea, but when you can do it with the Yankees, who should be mostly neglected on a smallish slate, we can justify it. Yes, Pablo Lopez is good, and the Twins bullpen is solid, but this current Yankees roster is at least top 5 in the most meaningful offensive categories vs. RHP – wOBA (2nd), wRC+ (2nd), ISO (5th), OPS (2nd), and BB% (2nd). If I’m hypothetically making 10 lineups, I will for sure have Lopez on a handful of them, but I will also have a “just in case” Yankees stack.
