What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
stlcardinals84: I will be playing around 10 entries in the large-field tournaments. I don’t have a strong take among the ace pitchers, though I am likely to be most overweight on Freddy Peralta. My bold take comes with the cheaper arms, and I am going to flag plant on Mick Abel. I will very much be overweight on him as a cheaper option that allows me to fit in top bats alongside him. I will also be overweight on the Mets as my favorite stack.
TJ Zwarych: I’ll be playing 150 lineups in large-field GPPs, and I’ll be looking to get different at pitcher. I still like George Kirby and Freddy Peralta, but I’ll be fading Tyler Glasnow and likely Logan Webb as well. I’ll take some shots on some cheap arms like Mick Abel while utilizing some mid-tier arms like Andrew Abbott and Dean Kremer.
tcsmith031: I’ll play a few of the 20-max GPPs on DraftKings. I’ll have pretty concentrated exposure among the top 3 pitchers – George Kirby, Logan Webb, and Freddy Peralta – while I’ll take some shots on Jack Leiter as a cheap SP2 at home against Cleveland. The Cubs are now affordable enough on aggregate amid some recent struggles to grade out well once again as a value stack, while I like both offenses in the CHW/MIN game as cheap options. I’ll also get some exposure to the Dodgers. When things go wrong for Nestor Cortes, it can spiral out of control pretty quickly.
Who is your favorite pitcher (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?

About the Author

Robert Brown (aka Epignosis) was having lunch at a sports bar. A football game was on. He remarked to his wife that if he could have a second life, he’d like to be someone who enjoyed watching sports. That enjoyment began when he signed up for a fantasy football league that needed one more player. Since then, he has enjoyed playing NFL, NBA, and (especially) MLB DFS. When not teaching American literature, editing content for RotoGrinders (which he has done since 2019), or making lineups, Epignosis is rocking out or jazzing it up on one of several possible instruments.
