Professional football was back with avengence in week 1. What a wild week it was. Nine of the sixteen games were decided by one score. There were sneaky upsets, crazy comebacks, some good and some awful Quarterback play. Raise your hand if you had Carson Wentz being a top 5 Quarterback in week 1…yeah me neither. Also, rough week for those of you who drafted Aaron Rodgers this season. It’s early though, but after that performance it’s got to be hard for even him to R-E-L-A-X. There’s only one thing left to be said: On to Week 2. Let’s take a look at how FanDuel ranks the quarterbacks based on this week’s matchups.

Fantasy Football Week 2 Quarterback Rankings

No surprise Allen and Mahomes lead this list as they looked to be in mid-season form in Week 1. Allen looked to be in complete control of the offense on Thursday night completing his first 10 pass attempts of the game and leading his team to a convincing road win against the reigning champs. Meanwhile, Mahomes did what Mahomes does. No Tyreek, no problem; just another casual 5 touchdown performance for the Kansas City signal caller. These two are on a crash course to meet in the AFC Championship yet again and will be fun to watch all season long. But what do you do if you don’t have one of these two on your team? Here are some names on this list that I really like in week 2.

Matthew Stafford

It’s get right week for the Rams. What an embarrassing showing they put on to kick off the season. They only managed to scrounge up 10 points and 243 yards on offense. They let the Bills defense, which is obviously very good, get to Stafford 7 times, and there was no running game whatsoever to speak of. But, it’s only week 1. These guys did just win it all a year ago, and returned a lot of star talent. The great teams always find a way to bounce back. The Rams do that this week against Atlanta, and so does Stafford.

For starters, the matchup is far more advantageous this week. The Falcons defense allowed 22 fantasy points to Jameis Winston last week. While the Saints are going to be a good team this season and Winston is certainly a capable option at QB, they are not the Rams and he is not Stafford. The Rams have a ton of firepower to work with on offense. We did see the connection between Stafford and Kupp is still as strong as ever as he completed 13 passes to the wideout on 15 targets. Expect the duo to have a big day again this Sunday. I also think Stafford will be able to get his new toy Allen Robinson more involved in this one as well. The Rams are going to have an easier time moving the ball and scoring points this week. Stafford will be a big reason why.

Joe Burrow

Much like Stafford, Burrow didn’t exactly get off to the best start in 2022. Throwing a pick 6 on the second play of the season is not ideal. Neither is an additional three first half turnovers followed by a fifth in the fourth quarter. I know, I’m not exactly selling you on him here. But he’s going to be just fine. He started to pick things up in the second half and still finished the game with 338 yards and 2 touchdowns. I highly doubt he’s going to turn the ball over 5 times in a game again. Don’t worry about it.

The main reason I really like Burrow this week is because of the opponent. To say that Dallas was anemic on offense Sunday night would be an understatement. They were the only team in the league that didn’t score a touchdown last week, and now they’re missing their starting Quarterback. This team simply will not be able to move the ball or control the clock. I expect a lot of three-and-outs which means a lot of opportunities for this Bengals offense. Eventually, the Cowboys secondary is going to get tired of chasing Ja’Marr Chase and company all over the field. Expect a big week for Burrow and friends.

Russell Wilson

The Broncos had one of the more perplexing performances of the week. They were seemingly able to move the ball at will against Seattle, amassing over 400 yards of offense and getting inside the 10 yard line on three separate occasions yet only managing to come away with 3 total points from those drives. Expect them to clean up some of those mistakes and convert more often in week 2. Russ looked good for the most part completing 69% of his passes for 340 yards. Would’ve been nice to see more touchdowns, but I think you will in a juicy matchup against the Texans this week.
