ezellmt: Gaudreau / Lindholm / Tkachuk
TastefulTides: Meier / Couture / Chmelevski

Who is your favorite contrarian play (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) and why?

Snamuh: Timo Meier – He hasn’t scored a goal in his last five games but he’s still getting a ton of shots, his price on DK is down substantially, he has a good matchup against Chicago, and San Jose is planning on going 11 forwards, 7 defensemen tonight, so their forwards should see increased ice time.

ezellmt: Timo Meier – I’m with Snamuh here as think Timo Meier is in a great spot to break out of his mini-slump. Despite not scoring in his last five games, he’s averaging five shots per game during that span. In a favorable matchup against Chicago, I think he ends the drought tonight.

TastefulTides: It seems like there will be a lot of chalk going on to the Avalanche and the Canucks. I am not as high on the Canucks as the field even though I might have a couple pieces in my primary lineup. With MacKinnon likely to be so highly owned it will leave Matthews and McDavid virtually unowned and vastly underowned relative to their ceiling. Matthews and the Leafs laid a massive egg in their last game against the Sabres and make for a really good leverage stack off the Avalanche. Don’t let recency bias get the better of you. If you are multi-entering make sure to have a TOR1 stack in one or two lineups.

Who is your top overall play (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?

Snamuh: Nathan MacKinnon – Coming off his best fantasy performance of the season, he is priced way too cheap in a great matchup against the Devils.

ezellmt: Nathan MacKinnon – Due to the blowout last night, the Avs were able to limit the minutes of MacKinnon and company so they should be a full-go tonight, at least until the game is out of hand. He had a ridiculous five points in just 15 minutes of action and is playing his best hockey of the season.

TastefulTides: Nathan MacKinnon – He will be the chalk play tonight especially after last nights game against the Kings. DK did not do a very good of pricing him at only 8.4K. The big 3 centers should always be in the upper 9’s or even 10K. His matchup is also tremendous, a home matchup against the Devils. If you are playing lower risk type contests like single entry or cash games than he should be your priority spend this evening. Given the size of the slate you can make the case for a fade in large fieild but I think if I was going 150max or 20max I would try and get overweight the field.

What’s your hot take of the night?

Snamuh: J.T. Miller reaches the 3 point bonus.

ezellmt: Elias Pettersson keeps it rolling with his fourth 3+ point night in his last five games.

TastefulTides: Timo Meier records a hat trick.
