Sports Info Solutions: MLB DFS Advice for Friday, July 27th

SIS

America’s pastime and daily fantasy sports are a perfect fit with an overload of data and statistics to analyze before making your lineup selections.

Because of the amount of information available to the DFS player, it can be a bit overwhelming, so I’ve tried to help you out by recommending a number of well-priced options by using Sports Info Solutions’ “SIS Model 3”.

SIS Model 3 gives DFS players an edge when setting their lineups as it uses the most expansive and accurate wealth of baseball data to create a tested DFS algorithm. You can learn more about the development of the algorithm in the RotoGrinders Marketplace.

Pitching Option

zack-greinke-550x330

Zack Greinke, Arizona Diamondbacks (FD Price $11,000)

Greinke struck out a season-high 13 batters last time out while yielding just two hits and a single run. He faces a Padres’ offense ranked last in K% (25.5) and wOBA (.289).

Hitting Options

C/1B) Justin Smoak, Toronto Blue Jays (FD Price $3,500)

Smoak has been very good against RHP all season, particularly on the road (.398 wOBA), and his bat has come alive in July (.423 wOBA).

2B) Lourdes Gurriel, Toronto Blue Jays (FD Price $2,800)

The Blue Jays rookie has shown he can hit in his short time with the big club, particularly on the road (.348 wOBA). He owns a .417 wOBA in July.

3B) Yangervis Solarte, Toronto Blue Jays (FD Price $3,000)

Sometimes you have to sacrifice for the good of the “team.” I’d like to start Alex Bregman, but to install Greinke in the lineup requires a lower budget at other position and this is one of them. Solarte owns a .304 wOBA against RHP on the road.

SS) Andrelton Simmons, Los Angeles Angels (FD Price $2,900)

Simmons owns a .358 wOBA against LHP and will face lefty Wade LeBlanc.

OF) Curtis Granderson, Toronto Blue Jays (FD Price $2,900)

Granderson’s name has been rumored in trades because he can still hit right-handers (.334 wOBA). He will get a chance today against Reynaldo Lopez who has struggled more and more as the season has progressed.

OF) Michael Brantley, Cleveland Indians (FD Price $3,400)

Brantley has taken advantage of RHP all season long (.375 wOBA).

OF) Josh Reddick, Houston Astros (FD Price $2,800)

Reddick likes to hit in Minute Maid Park (.343 wOBA). He will be matched up against Yovani Gallardo who owns a .421 wOBA against LHP on the road.

UTIL) Yuli Gurriel, Houston Astros (FD Price $2,600)

The older of the two Gurriel’s in today’s lineup, Yuli has been a consistent performer at home (.337 wOBA) and will face Gallardo who has been horrible on the road (.434 wOBA) and even worse to RHB on the road (.449 wOBA).

Stacking Option

When it comes time to draft a fantasy baseball team in DFS, stacking is a widely accepted strategy. There’s a reason: it works. If you want to win big, you will need a gigantic score, and stacking makes it easier to rack up the points because the scoring of batters in a given lineup is interrelated. Batters reaching base allows the hitters down the line to drive them in, creating something of a snowball effect.

Toronto Blue Jays: A rare Blue Jays stack with Smoak, Gurriel, Solarte and Granderson.
