Sports Info Solutions: MLB DFS Advice for Saturday, August 4th

America’s pastime and daily fantasy sports are a perfect fit with an overload of data and statistics to analyze before making your lineup selections.
Because of the amount of information available to the DFS player, it can be a bit overwhelming, so I’ve tried to help you out by recommending a number of well-priced options by using Sports Info Solutions’ “SIS Model 3”.
SIS Model 3 gives DFS players an edge when setting their lineups as it uses the most expansive and accurate wealth of baseball data to create a tested DFS algorithm. You can learn more about the development of the algorithm in the RotoGrinders Marketplace.
Pitching Option
James Paxton, Seattle Mariners (FD Price $9,500)

Paxton dominated Houston in his return from the disabled list (back) raising his record to 9-4 with a 3.49 ERA and 11.61 K/9. The Blue Jays have managed just a .308 wOBA against left-handers this season with a 21.7 K%.
Hitting Options
C/1B) Joe Mauer, Minnesota Twins (FD Price $2600)
Mauer owns a .355 wOBA at home against RHP and opposing starter Burch Smith has yielded a .379 wOBA to all LHB which rises to a .413 wOBA on the road.
2B) Rougned Odor, Texas Rangers (FD Price $3,900)
He’s hitting .404 with six homers and 14 RBI in 13 games since the All-Star break which is as many home runs as he hit all first half (67 games). He produced a .436 wOBA in July and so far in August it’s a stunning .763 wOBA.
3B) Miguel Sano, Minnesota Twins (FD Price $2,600)
He’s hit well in the six games since being recalled from the minors (.353 wOBA) and the low price allowed us room in the budget for a pitcher like Paxton.
SS) Jorge Polanco, Minnesota Twins (FD Price $2,800)
The Twins switch-hitter owns a .417 wOBA against RHP and we know Smith can’t get out lefties on the road.
OF) Shin-Soo Choo, Texas Rangers(FD Price $3,200)
He’s a .278 hitter with 20 HR, 63 runs, 51 RBI and a .378 wOBA. He has produced a .398 wOBA against RHP. Meanwhile, opposing starter Dylan Bundy is yielding a .370 wOBA to left-handers.
OF) Joey Gallo, Texas Rangers (FD Price $3,000)
Sure he strikes out a lot, but he’s also mashed 28 home runs this season, 17 in Arlington, where he has produced a .383 wOBA and faces a vulnerable RHP in Bundy.
OF) Adam Eaton, Washington Nationals (FD Price $3,100)
Injuries have reduced Eaton to just 191 plate appearances so far in 2018, but he does have a .380 wOBA against RHP.
UTIL) Matt Carpenter, St. Louis Cardinals (FD Price $4,200)
On May 23rd, Carpenter was batting .199 with four home runs and a .690 OPS. After his 27th home run Friday night, the Cardinals infielder is batting .281 with a .973 OPS and a .405 wOBA. He owns a .402 wOBA against RHP.
Stacking Option
When it comes time to draft a fantasy baseball team in DFS, stacking is a widely accepted strategy. There’s a reason: it works. If you want to win big, you will need a gigantic score, and stacking makes it easier to rack up the points because the scoring of batters in a given lineup is interrelated. Batters reaching base allows the hitters down the line to drive them in, creating something of a snowball effect.
Minnesota Twins – Mauer, Sano and Polanco were value picks and if your budget allows Eddie Rosario you could have an inexpensive, yet solid, stack.
