Sports Info Solutions: MLB DFS Advice for Saturday, July 21st

America’s pastime and daily fantasy sports are a perfect fit with an overload of data and statistics to analyze before making your lineup selections.
Because of the amount of information available to the DFS player, it can be a bit overwhelming, so I’ve tried to help you out by recommending a number of well-priced options by using Sports Info Solutions’ “SIS Model 3”.
SIS Model 3 gives DFS players an edge when setting their lineups as it uses the most expansive and accurate wealth of baseball data to create a tested DFS algorithm. You can learn more about the development of the algorithm in the RotoGrinders Marketplace.
Pitching Option
Vince Velasquez, Philadelphia (FD Price $8300)

Velasquez threw six shutout inning last time out after missing a turn in the rotation due to a forearm contusion. His 10.49 K/9 makes him a viable option as does the San Diego Padres penchant for striking out at a league-high pace of 25.8 K% against right-handers. They also produce a league-worst .287 wOBA against RHP.
Hitting Options
C/1B) Carlos Santana, Philadelphia (FD Price $2900)
Yes, I know he has a very low batting average, but he’s also produced a .371 wOBA at home against RHP this season. He will face Luis Perdomo, who has struggled against LHB this season (.441 wOBA).
2B) Cesar Hernandez, Philadelphia (FD Price $3100)

Like Santana, Hernandez has been a patient hitter this season and it’s helped his totals. He owns a .352 wOBA against RHP at home and Perdomo, as stated previously, can’t get out LHB.
3B) Colin Moran, Pittsburgh (FD Price $2600)
Moran came through for us with four hits Friday night and we go back to him on Saturday in a matchup against another right-hander in Anthony DeSclafani. Moran owns a .341 wOBA against RHP which DeSclafani is yielding a .355 wOBA to LHB.
SS) Jorge Polanco, Minnesota (FD Price $3200)

The switch-hitting Polanco doesn’t seem like a great option on the surface (.263 BA, .322 wOBA), until you uncover his .389 BA and .450 wOBA against RHP.
OF)*Eddie Rosario, Minnesota (FD Price $3700)*
Rosario is putting together a career-best season and much of that production is against RHP (.396 wOBA). Facing Jakob Junis, just off the DL, was horrible last time out (5.1 IP 8H, 8ER, 2 HR).
OF) Jesse Winker, Cincinnati (FD Price $3000)
Winker is a .322 hitter and a .383 wOBA against RHP and faces the Pirates RHP Nick Kingham, who can’t get out LHB on the road (.432 wOBA). That’s a great combination.
OF) Denard Span, Seattle (FD Price $2900)
We would like almost any lefty against Dylan Covey, who is yielding a .408 wOBA to LHB on the road. Span is swinging a hot bat in July (.402 wOBA) and owns a .354 wOBA against RHP at Safeco Field.
UTIL) Jose Ramirez, Cleveland (FD Price $4900)

Ramirez is hitting everything these days after blasting his 30th home run Friday night. He owns a .428 wOBA against RHP on the road and a .493 wOBA in July.
Stacking Option
When it comes time to draft a fantasy baseball team in DFS, stacking is a widely accepted strategy. There’s a reason: it works. If you want to win big, you will need a gigantic score, and stacking makes it easier to rack up the points because the scoring of batters in a given lineup is interrelated. Batters reaching base allows the hitters down the line to drive them in, creating something of a snowball effect.
Philadelphia Phillies
Left-handers give Perdomo so much trouble that Santana, Hernandez and Odubel Herrera could be a solid option and throw in the Phillies best hitter Rhys Hoskins for the stack.
