Sports Info Solutions: MLB DFS Advice for Saturday, June 30th

SIS

America’s pastime and daily fantasy sports are a perfect fit with an overload of data and statistics to analyze before making your lineup selections.

Because of the amount of information available to the DFS player, it can be a bit overwhelming, so I’ve tried to help you out by recommending a number of well-priced options by using Sports Info Solutions’ “SIS Model 3”.

SIS Model 3 gives DFS players an edge when setting their lineups as it uses the most expansive and accurate wealth of baseball data to create a tested DFS algorithm. You can learn more about the development of the algorithm in the RotoGrinders Marketplace.

Pitching Option

Kenta Maeda, Los Angeles Dodgers (FD Price $8600)

kenta-maeda-550x330

Maeda has pitched solidly this season (5-4, 3.44 ERA, 10.59 K/9), but he was a lot better than “solid” against the Rockies in May, going into the seventh inning and yielding just two hits (no runs) while striking out a season-high 12 batters

Hitting Options

C/1B) Jose Abreu, Chicago White Sox (FD Price $3400)

Abreu is in the midst of his least productive season (career-low .334 wOBA), but this is a vote against opposing pitcher Bartolo Colon, who can’t get out hitters this month (.358 BA, 630 SLG and .430 wOBA).

2B) Yoan Moncada, Chicago White Sox (FD Price $3400)

Switch-hitter Moncada is only useful to fantasy owners when batting left-handed, which he will be against Colon. He owns a .331 wOBA against RHP.

3B) Mike Moustakas, Kansas City (FD Price $3100)

Moustakas can hit RHP (.348 wOBA) and has been successful against Felix Hernandez in their head-to-head matchups (.418 wOBA).

SS) Brandon Crawford, San Francisco (FD Price $3300)

Crawford has continued his early-season success, producing a .403 wOBA in June. He built on a stellar May (.448 wOBA) and he’s made me a believer. He’ll face Shelby Miller, in just his second start since elbow surgery, so the pitcher is still likely to be rusty.

OF) Joc Pederson, Los Angeles Dodgers (FD Price $2700)

The platoon outfielder should get a start today against RHP German Marquez. Pederson has produced all 11 of his home runs (including two versus Marquez) and a .416 wOBA against righties this season. Meanwhile, Marquez has struggled in June, yielding a .318 BA, .623 SLG and .420 wOBA to opposing batters.

OF) Avisail Garcia, Chicago White Sox (FD Price $2500)

Just off the DL this week, Garcia has begun to hit like we remember from 2017 when he posted 18 HR, 80 RBI and a .375 wOBA. After a subpar April (.248 wOBA) and missing all of May (hamstring), he’s rebounded in June (.342 wOBA) and Garcia should be able to take advantage of Colon’s troubles.

OF) David Peralta, Arizona (FD Price $3700)

Peralta is swinging a hot bat this month (.431 wOBA). He owns a .385 wOBA against RHP this season, including 12 of his 15 home runs. He goes up against rookie RHP Dereck Rodriguez, who appears to be much more comfortable pitching at home (.285 wOBA in AT&T Park) than on the road (.378 wOBA).

UTIL) Max Muncy, Los Angeles Dodgers (FD Price $4200)

Muncy has shown more power than anyone would have thought possible posting a .347 ISO and .425 wOBA. We like him today against the slumping Marquez.

Stacking Option

When it comes time to draft a fantasy baseball team in DFS, stacking is a widely accepted strategy. There’s a reason: it works. If you want to win big, you will need a gigantic score, and stacking makes it easier to rack up the points because the scoring of batters in a given lineup is interrelated. Batters reaching base allows the hitters down the line to drive them in, creating something of a snowball effect.

Chicago White Sox

Add Matt Davidson to Abreu, Moncada and Garcia, and plan for Colon’s struggles to continue through Saturday.
