Lu Dort

Atlanta Hawks
3/17/21, 3:44 AM ET

Lu Dort (toe) ruled out Tuesday

Dort has officially been downgraded from questionable and won’t play in Tuesday’s matchup against the Chicago Bulls due to a sprained left great toe, while Al Horford was previously ruled out for rest purposes despite the Thunder not being on the front or a back end of a back-to-back set. Oklahoma City is also still without Darius Bazley, so they will be down three usual starters in tonight’s contest, which will allow Aleksej Pokusevski, Isaiah Roby, and Moses Brown to each remain in the starting lineup for at least another game at their respective positions. Brown, in particular, will be an intriguing option for all daily fantasy formats on tonight’s slates as his price is still much lower than Pokusevski’s and should continue to have a stable minute floor without Bazley and Horford after logging at least 24 minutes in each of the previous two games.

Christian Wood

Los Angeles Lakers
3/17/21, 1:34 AM ET

Christian Wood (ankle) and Danuel House Jr. (knee) ruled out Tuesday

As expected, Wood has officially been downgraded from doubtful and won’t play in Tuesday’s matchup against the Atlanta Hawks due to a sprained right ankle that has already kept him sidelined for an extended period of time, while House will also be unavailable because of a right knee contusion and Ben McLemore remains questionable with a sprained left ankle. If McLemore is unable to suit up, that would leave the Rockets with just eight healthy bodies and should lead to heavy minutes for every member of the starting lineup outside of possibly Justin Patton, who can always fall victim to the small-ball lineup combinations head coach Stephen Silas likes to deploy. However, players like Kevin Porter Jr., Sterling Brown, and Jae’Sean Tate should see all the minutes they can handle on the front end of a back-to-back set whereas Victor Oladipo figures to play a key role on the offensive end of the floor if Houston has any chance of keeping this contest competitive this evening.

Tristan Thompson

Cleveland Cavaliers
3/16/21, 5:01 PM ET

Tristan Thompson (protocols) ruled out Tuesday

Thompson is a new addition to the Celtics’ injury report and has officially been ruled of Tuesday’s matchup against the Utah Jazz as he’s entered the NBA’s health and safety protocols and may be required to self-isolate for a currently undetermined period of time pending the results of a positive test or contact tracing. In Thompson’s absence, Marcus Smart will more than likely rejoin the starting lineup alongside Kemba Walker in the backcourt, which will slide everyone else down a position and enable Daniel Theis to start at the center spot as the lone big in Boston’s starting five. Given the construction of the Jazz first unit and rotation, it seems unlikely there will much, if any, playing time overlap between Theis and Robert Williams, which should thrust Grant Williams into a more prominent role off the bench and limit Robert Williams to solely backup center minutes this evening.

Jeremy Lamb

Sacramento Kings
3/16/21, 12:19 AM ET

Jeremy Lamb (knee) ruled out Monday

Lamb has officially been downgraded from questionable and won’t play in Monday’s matchup against the Denver Nuggets due to a sore left knee that has now forced him to miss two consecutive games. In his absence, some combination of Edmond Sumner and Aaron Holiday should absorb the vacated wing minutes in the second unit off the bench as they combined for just over 21 minutes in Saturday’s win. Caris LeVert also made his Pacers debut in that contest and managed to log just under 27 minutes of action, so even with Lamb unavailable, there really isn’t any realistic route to substantial playing time for Sumner and Holiday barring an overwhelming blowout, which removes them from consideration in daily fantasy formats across the industry this evening.

Abdel Nader

Phoenix Suns
3/16/21, 12:49 AM ET

Abdel Nader (knee) ruled out Monday

Nader has officially been downgraded from questionable and won’t play in Monday’s matchup against the Memphis Grizzlies due to right knee soreness, while Cam Johnson was previously ruled out and remains in the NBA’s health and safety protocols with a firm timetable for a return. Nader ended up playing the entire fourth quarter and accumulated nearly 21 minutes in Saturday’s loss, so his absence along with Johnson’s will leave a sizable void in the second unit at the forward positions. It’s likely Suns head coach Monty Williams opts to extend his rotation by giving either Jevon Carter or Langton Gallaway minutes on the wing, but if that doesn’t happen, someone like Jae Crowder, who will start ahead of Frank Kaminsky at power forward in tonight’s contest, could see extended run and become a viable option for daily fantasy formats across the daily fantasy industry this evening.

Serge Ibaka

Milwaukee Bucks
3/16/21, 1:26 AM ET

Serge Ibaka (back) ruled out Monday

Ibaka has officially been downgraded from questionable and won’t play in Monday’s matchup against the Dallas Mavericks due to the lower back tightness he began experiencing in the first quarter of Sunday’s blowout loss. The Clippers will also be without Patrick Beverley for a second straight contest because of right knee soreness, so their absences will allow Reggie Jackson and Ivica Zubac to assume starting roles in tonight’s contest, and Jackson, in particular, should have a substantial minute floor after logging 24 minutes through three quarters in his most recent spot start. As for Zubac, his playing time can volatile with head coach Tyronn Lue’s propensity to go small or even utilize Patrick Patterson as a stretch-five for portions of the game, but he’ll still be a viable tournament option on tonight’s slates across the daily fantasy industry.

Justise Winslow

Toronto Raptors
3/15/21, 4:52 PM ET

Justise Winslow (injury management) ruled out Monday

Unsurprisingly, Winslow has been included on the Grizzlies’ initial injury report and won’t play in Monday’s matchup against the Phoenix Suns as the team attempts to manage his return from a left hip injury on the second night of a back-to-back set. The is the second game Winslow has been sidelined since returning from his aforementioned lengthy injury hiatus, but now that Grayson Allen is back on the active roster and healthy, the absence of Winslow doesn’t really benefit anyone from a playing time standpoint as Allen will likely just rejoin the rotation following two straight DNP-CDs and absorb most, if not, all of the vacated wing minutes in the second unit this evening.

Jaden McDaniels

Minnesota Timberwolves
3/14/21, 7:15 PM ET

Jaden McDaniels (health protocols) ruled out Sunday

After playing 21 minutes in yesterday’s game, Jaden McDaniels was a late addition to the injury report and ruled out against the Portland Trail Blazers due to the health and safety protocols. McDaniels absence opens up a few more minutes for the Wolves wings, as they are down to 10 healthy bodies, with 3 of those 10 centers. With no McDaniels, Jarrett Culver, and Jordan McLoughlin, the Wolves will have to play bigger minutes to Jaylen Nowell, Jake Layman, and Juancho Hernangomez.

Darius Garland

LA Clippers
3/14/21, 6:53 PM ET

Darius Garland (shoulder) will start Sunday

After missing the Cavaliers last game due to a groin injury, Garland will start tonight against the Atlanta Hawks according to coach Bickerstaff. Garland went through his pregame workouts and should be able to make his return, and pushes Larry Nance Jr. to the bench while Okoro stays in the starting lineup. The Cavaliers are much healthier than they were earlier in the year, and with Kevin Love and Nance back, the production that was once there for all the fringe players has disappeared. Sexton, Garland, and Jarrett Allen should dominate most of the production for the team.

Tyler Herro

Milwaukee Bucks
3/14/21, 6:49 PM ET

Tyler Herro (shoulder) will play Sunday

Despite being a late add to the injury report with a questionable tag, Herro is available to play with through his shoulder injury against the Orlando Magic. Herro does not have any minutes restriction listed, so he should be a full go and play his usual 26-28 minutes. With Bam Adebayo still out with a shoulder injury, Jimmy Butler remains the top option on the Heat; he averages 1.59 FPM per CourtIQ in a 304 minute sample. Kelly Olynyk and Goran Dragic are also good plays and should take advantage of a matchup against a shorthanded Magic team.

David Nwaba

Oklahoma City Thunder
3/14/21, 6:44 PM ET

David Nwaba (wrist) available to play Sunday

Nwaba is dealing with a wrist injury that likely needs surgery, but will continue to fight it off and is available to play against the Boston Celtics. Nwaba played 18 minutes last game when the Rockets were extremely shorthanded, but that was without Victor Oladipo, who is back for the Rockets. Nwaba may play spot minutes, but with Oladipo and Kevin Porter Jr. both healthy, Nwaba won’t be getting many minutes despite the Rockets other injuries.

As reported by: Cayleigh Griffin via Twitter

Jarrett Culver

Orlando Magic
3/14/21, 6:39 PM ET

Jarrett Culver (toe) out Sunday

Culver was downgraded from doubtful to out and will miss the game against the Portland Trail Blazers for the second day in a row with a toe injury. Culver hasn’t played big minutes this season, but his absence along with Jordan McLaughlin, D’Angelo Russell, and Malik Beasley leaves the Wolves shorthanded on the wings. Jake Layman and Jaylen Nowell each played 28 minutes yesterday and should continue to benefit from the injuries.

As reported by: Jon Krawczynski via Twitter

Darius Garland

LA Clippers
3/14/21, 6:35 PM ET

Darius Garland (groin) expected to play Sunday

After missing the Cavaliers last game due to a groin injury, Garland is expected to play tonight against the Atlanta Hawks according to coach Bickerstaff. Garland went through his pregame workouts and should be able to make his return, likely pushing Issac Okoro to the bench. The Cavaliers are much healthier than they were earlier in the year, and with Kevin Love and Larry Nance Jr. back, the production that was once there for all the fringe players has disappeared. Sexton, Garland, and Jarrett Allen should dominate most of the production for the team.

Clint Capela

Houston Rockets
3/14/21, 6:28 PM ET

Clint Capela (heel) and Onyeka Okongwu (adductor) out Sunday; Trae Young (quad) available

After being added to the injury report earlier in the day, Capela and Okongwu were both downgraded from questionable and ruled out against the Cleveland Cavaliers, while Trae Young was upgraded to available and will be able to play. With Capela out, John Collins is the biggest benefactor, as he will play more of his minutes at center which has been a boon for his fantasy production. Per CourtIQ, Collins’ usage percentage jumps from 22.4% to 30.4% and his rebound percentage jumps from 13.5% to 19.5% with Capela, De’Andre Hunter, and Cam Reddish off the floor in a 195 minute sample. Some of the center minutes will be filled by either Bruno Fernando or possibly Nathan Knight; neither has been in the rotation the last few games. Young and Kevin Huerter also benefit with the increased usage and are good plays against a weak Cavs defense.

Terrence Ross

Phoenix Suns
3/14/21, 5:39 PM ET

Terrence Ross (knee) listed available to play Sunday

Ross missed the last game for the Magic, but coach Steve Clifford expected Ross to be available to play off the bench, and was listed as available against the Miami Heat. Ross will take his usual role off sparkplug off the bench, as the Magic will stick with the starting lineup from last game, with Carter-Williams and Dwayne Bacon at the guards, while Chuma Okeke and Al-Farouq Aminu starting alongside Nikola Vucevic. With Ross’s return, Chasson Randle’s minutes take the biggest hit, while Bacon and Carter-Williams also will some of their production.
