Mario Hezonja is starting at Point Guard
Point Mario is BACK. His price has come up quite a bit but he has looked like a whole new player since taking on this role in the starting lineup. This sends Dennis Smith Jr back to the bench, and could send Mario Hezonja into your lineups.

JaKarr Sampson has been ruled out
DFS darling Jakarr Sampson will need a new contract if he is going to get on the court tonight, as his current contract has expired. The Bulls are a mess of course but Sampson got 33 minutes yesterday so those minutes would have to go somewhere if the Bulls opt for being thrifty instead of giving the people what they want. This is certainly a situation to watch.

This is what it looks like when you rest all of your starters. Play all of them? Play none of them? Who even knows. McConnell and Boban probably are the safest, but nothing about this Philly team is “safe” today.

Brooklyn has been pretty quiet on the injury reporting front, but with Harris out, it will mean a few more shots and peripherals for the other members of the Brooklyn rotation. Unfortunately, the only member of the Nets to play more than 30 minutes in their most recent game was Harris himself, so they are unlikely to to be top targets for your lineups.

With Vuc ruled out, this should result in some extended run for Khem Birch and likely also more usage for the remaining Magic starters, given how large of a role Vucevic plays in their offense. This is also a Bismack Biyombo revenge game, although he’s seeing paltry minutes at the moment and the Hornets are still in the hunt for the playoffs, so I doubt he would get too much additional run or suddenly become the focus of the Hornets Kemba-centric attack just because of the lack of an interior defender and the revenge narrative.

With Sabonis now in, that changes the outlook somewhat of Kyle O’Quinn and TJ Leaf. Nevertheless, the Pacers are still resting a ton of players, which should make for plenty of usage and minutes for Cory Joseph, Doug McDermott, and Aaron Holiday, while TJ Leaf may also warrant some consideration.
Luka Doncic is listed as questionable
If Doncic doesn’t play, we might be looking even more at a Dirk encore, or we might just see a ton of Justin Jackson, Dorian Finney-Smith and Jalen Bunson. Hard to say. If he does play though he is in consideration for one of the higher upside plays on the slate.

You weren’t playing Dante Cunningham, but just in case you were, don’t play Dante Cunningham. Minimal DFS impact here in the Dirk swan song game.

Jazz are joining the Pacers and Sixers with full rest, creating massive value with their non-resting players, which would mean the remaining bodies left standing of Joe Ingles, Thabo Sefolosha, Royce O’Neale, and whomever else doesn’t also get ruled out before lock can be considered.

Definitely something to watch here, as a George-less Thunder squad might put Russell Westbrook in Kemba/Drummond must-play territory in terms of ability to achieve raw points. PG13 has had this injury for a while so it would make some sense for the Thunder to want to have him as well rested as possible for the playoffs, especially going up against a Bucks team that is resting plenty of their own stars and rotation players.

No real reason for Bayless, Towns or Gibson to go with Minnesota long since eliminated from playoff contention, so we’ll see if last night’s star Gorgui Dieng or Dario Saric picks up the extra run or if we see more of Keita Bates-Diop and Anthony Tolliver. Dieng is probably still in play at his price point even with a ceiling of about 28-30 minutes.

Lillard and McCollum were both rest candidates, and we now have confirmation that they will both be out. Should be a good amount of run in a quasi-revenge game for Seth Curry, with Moe Harkless and Enes Kanter going to get plenty of opportunity on offense unless one or both are also ruled out. You might also consider Evan Turner or Rodney Hood, even if those plays are a bit thin without much sample size of expanded minutes from either to go on.

With Kleber out, might we be paving the way for a Dirk encore? It’s hard to envision Dirk wanting to go out with a below average performance, especially after his big showing in the home finale last night, but he is an old man and who knows what will happen here. If Courtney Lee is ruled out it is of little consequence, perhaps a slight bump to Justin Jackson, but Luka Doncic soaks up so much of the guard usage that this is splitting hairs at best.

We’ll need to hear more from the Knicks, as last night’s surprise scratch of Point Mario left a number of minutes to be filled, with DSJ getting 35 and Luke Kornet getting 39 on his way to putting up a monster game. We will want to track this situation closely as it is possible a number of other players will sit, opening up some opportunities in a game in which the Pistons will be very competitive

Blake Griffin being out would put Andre Drummond in close to must play status in a game that will allow the Pistons to cement a playoff spot with a win, against a Knicks front court that has no one on the team actively playing that can stop him (DeAndre Jordan hasn’t played in a long time). You might see some additional minutes from Thon Maker but Drummond will be the main benefactor, and is a strong candidate for a 20-20 game.
