Darren Collison (quad) officially out Tuesday
Collison has officially been downgraded from doubtful and won’t play in Tuesday’s matchup against the Los Angeles Clippers due to a right quad contusion that limited him to just 27 minutes in Monday’s loss. In his absence, Cory Joseph will receive the starting nod at point guard, and he’s settled into a consistent bench role in the low-20s in terms of minutes ever since Victor Oladipo was lost for the season with a ruptured right quad tendon. Considering the diminished role Tyreke Evans has had in the rotation since the NBA trade deadline and All-Star break, it should be expected for Aaron Holiday to join the rotation following three consecutive DNP-CDs and absorb a large portion of the available backup point guard minutes in the second unit. Somewhat surprisingly, Domantas Sabonis has been the largest beneficiary with Collison off the court the past 15 games, as he owns a 29.0% usage rate (+2.6%) and is averaging 1.41 DraftKings and 1.36 FanDuel points per minute in a 149.5 minutes sample size.

Ersan Ilyasova (illness) listed out Tuesday
Ilyasova is active but has been listed as out on the Bucks’ media sheet and presumably won’t play in Tuesday’s matchup against the Los Angeles Lakers due to an illness, while Giannis Antetokounmpo, Sterling Brown, Donte DiVincenzo, and Pau Gasol were all previous ruled out with their respective ailments. However, Gasol has been a DNP-CD in three straight contests and his absence will have a minimal impact on the rest of the frontcourt rotation. Nikola Mirotic ended up receiving the starting nod in place of Malcolm Brogdon in Sunday’s loss, logging 24 minutes, and he will likely be joined by Tony Snell, who appears to be the likeliest candidate to start alongside Khris Middleton on the wing.

In James’ absence, Mike Muscala will receive the starting nod at power forward once again, but he was essentially irrelevant from a fantasy perspective in just 15 minutes of action in his most recent spot start. Hart was also unavailable for the aforementioned contest, so he should be in line for a significant minute increase on the wing with the second unit as long as his knee tendinitis doesn’t limit him as it did in Sunday’s loss when he logged just 19 minutes.

Huge Upside at Potentially Low Ownership
The Hornets haven’t been playing their best basketball of late, but are still only a game and a half behind the Heat for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. The Sixers are missing their defensive anchor in Joel Embiid and this should be a pace-up spot for Charlotte. Even though the Sixers have been tough on point guards this season, Walker has averaged 66 fantasy points against them in three meetings this season.
Usage And Minutes Expected To Be Up
With Giannis Antetokounmpo out tonight, I expect this game to stay a little closer. With a lot of value from this game, Nikola Mirotic stands out as a high upside option. Mirotic hasn’t shown a ton of upside with this team, but he is averaging .96 fantasy points per minute with Giannis and Brogdon off the floor. It’s not a large sample size, but he should see an increase in usage and minutes in this spot.
Minutes Continue To Be Up
With LeBron being ruled out, I do think that will raise the ownership on Alex Caruso. With that said, I still think he will be overlooked as a potential value play. In 83.3 minutes with LeBron, Ingram, and Ball off the floor, Caruso is averaging 1.07 fantasy points per minute. He’s played over 24 minutes in three straight games, and has at least 28 fantasy points in each of those games.
Derrick Rose (elbow) and Luol Deng (Achilles) officially out Tuesday
Rose and Deng have both officially been downgraded from doubtful and won’t play in Tuesday’s matchup against the Golden State Warriors due to a sore left elbow and a sore left Achilles, respectively, while Jeff Teague and Robert Covington remain sidelined with their respective ailments as well. With Teague and Rose unavailable, Tyus Jones will remain in the starting lineup at point guard and could become one of the top value options on tonight’s six-game slate given his projected minute workload, despite averaging just 28.2 minutes in his three most recent spot starts. Assuming Towns doesn’t continue to be limited, he’ll be an intriguing tournament target since he owns a 33.9% usage rate (+4.3%) and is averaging 1.69 Draftkings and 1.65 FanDuel points per minute with Teague, Rose, Deng, and Covington off the court this season.
