Low Owned Tournament Play
Chriss has played 22 and 24 minutes in back-to-back games with his new team, and while the production hasn’t been the greatest, he draws an excellent matchup tonight. He’s min salary across the industry, so I’m willing to roll the dice on him everywhere. Chriss started the second half of the back-to-back against the Pacers on Saturday, and I’m hoping we see him draw another start tonight.
Ante Zizic (back) listed as questionable Monday; Cedi Osman (ankle) listed out
Zizic has been listed as questionable on the most recent version of the Cavaliers’ injury report for Monday’s matchup against the New York Knicks due to a sore lower back, while Osman has been ruled out, as expected, after originally being listed as doubtful with a sprained right ankle that’s now forced him to miss four consecutive games. Zizic’s minute floor is a lot less stable with Kevin Love back in the fold, and he’s been limited to fewer than 17 minutes in each of the previous two games despite Love totaling just seven minutes over that span, signaling that he may find himself out of the rotation entirely once Love is able to handle more playing time. Larry Nance has been the main beneficiary in the last two contests with Osman sidelined and Zizic taking on a lesser role in the rotation, as he’s easily exceeded his salary-based expectations and averaged 36 minutes as the Cavaliers starting center.

Andrew Wiggins (illness) questionable Monday
Wiggins has been added to the Timberwolves’ injury report and is questionable for Monday’s matchup against the Los Angeles Clippers due to an illness, while Jerryd Bayless remains questionable and Tyus Jones is doubtful with their respective ailments. Even with Jeff Teague returning for Friday’s loss, Isaiah Canaan drew the start at point guard and was solid from a fantasy perspective in 31 minutes of action in his spot start, but he’ll more than likely head back to the bench and possibly out of the rotation with Teague and Derrick Rose, who has missed six of the last seven games with a sore right ankle, expected to be active this evening. Luol Deng has been mentioned as a potential replacement for Wiggins in the starting lineup if he’s unable to suit up, and Deng logged 31 minutes off the bench in the Timberwolves previous game. Other than Rose, who could be limited, Karl-Anthony Towns and Taj Gibson have been the main beneficiaries with Wiggins off the court, as they each own at least a +6.6% usage rate differential and experience a +0.22 increase to their per minute production in this scenario.

VanVleet has been added to the Raptors’ injury report and is doubtful for Monday’s matchup against the Brooklyn Nets due to a sore left thumb. VanVleet saw his playing time drastically reduced in the Raptors new-look second unit in Saturday’s win, as he was limited to just 20 minutes with Patrick McCaw receiving significant run for a second straight contest. As of yesterday Jordan Loyd and Chris Boucher were in the G-League, but Loyd appears extremely likely to be recalled for tonight’s contest since Toronto has no other natural point guards on their active roster following the departure of Delon Wright to Memphis via trade. However, if he’s unable to join the big club in time, McCaw could be in line for an uptick in minutes as the de facto point guard in the second unit.

Parker has officially been downgraded from doubtful and won’t play in Monday’s matchup against the Indiana Pacers due to a strained back that has now forced him to miss three consecutive games. Parker has been unavailable for nine games to this point in the season, and in those contests, Devonte’ Graham has typically stepped into the backup role behind Kemba Walker at point guard. Unfortunately, with Graham largely out of the rotation most nights, he should absorb most, if not, all of Parker’s vacated minutes in the second unit, which leaves very little else for anyone else in the rotation to benefit. To make matters worse, Graham can’t be realistically considered in any daily fantasy formats on a nine-game slate considering his capped minutes ceilings in the high-teens or low-20s in a mostly healthy Hornets rotation.

Satoransky has officially been added to the Wizards’ injury report and won’t play in Monday’s matchup against the Detroit Pistons due to personal reasons, while Jeff Green remains listed as questionable with left hip tightness he aggravated during Saturday’s win. If he’s unable to suit up, Jabari Parker appears to be the likeliest candidate to replace him in the starting lineup since Parker started the second half of the previous contest and ended up logging 35 minutes in relief. As for Satoransky’s absence, Chasson Randle will draw the start at point guard, and he’s coming off of a solid fantasy performance in 25 minutes of action off the bench his last time out. The sample size for this new-look Wizards squad with Satoransky off the court is still tremendously small, but in that time, Randle, Parker, Trevor Ariza, and Bradley Beal have all experienced significant increases to their per minute fantasy production.

Zubac drew the start for his new team on Saturday and topped 28-fantasy points in 23 minutes of action. The playing time uncertainty for Zubac is what makes him more of a GPP option even at his cheap price tag. Doc Rivers gave 12-players court time in Saturday’s contest and used Harrell to close over Zubac. Zubac has been a strong per minute producer this season and is a strong play even if you only project him for low-20’s minutes.
Reclaimed Starting Role
Nance has seemingly reclaimed a starting role for the Cavs starting each of the last two games for Cleveland and posting a double-double in both. Larry has been a beast on the boards, securing 29 rebounds over the last two contests and his activity on the glass has allowed him to score north of 40-fantasy points in both games. Nance should get the starting nod again on Monday night in a favorable home matchup against the Knicks and he has strong point per dollar upside on his mid-tier price tag.
Positive Value With Upside
James Harden is probable for Monday’s game against the Mavs but is dealing with a left shoulder strain. Any sort of reduced workload or effectiveness for Harden would likely lead to increased fantasy production for Chris Paul who reached 35 minutes of court time in the Rockets last game on Saturday. Paul’s price is low enough where he already rates as a positive value if projected for low 30’s minutes and a healthy Harden and he has a ton of upside if he ends up with both more minutes and more offensive responsibility.

Aaron Gordon (back) will start Sunday
Gordon has officially been upgraded from questionable and will start in Sunday’s matchup against the Atlanta Hawks despite dealing with a sore lower back he aggravated during a fall in Saturday’s blowout win, while Mohamed Bamba remains sidelined with a stress fracture in his lower left leg. The availability of Gordon keeps Wesley Iwundu and Jarell Martin in their current roles in the second unit of the rotation, though Martin has accrued eight DNP-CDs over the previous nine games. Gordon wasn’t active for the Magic’s only meeting with the Hawks this season, and in that contest, Nikola Vucevic was stellar from a fantasy perspective, as he recorded a 32.5% usage rate and averaged 1.57 DraftKings and 1.59 FanDuel points per minute, making him an elite option for all formats on tonight’s three-game slate.

Iguodala has officially been downgraded from questionable and won’t play in Sunday’s matchup against the Miami Heat due to a tight left hamstring, while Jacob Evans and Damian Jones remain sidelined with their respective ailments. Despite seeing a slight downturn in minutes over the Warriors previous two games, Iguodala typically absorbs a minute allotment in the mid-20s on a nightly basis, so his absence will certainly have an impact on head coach Steve Kerr’s rotation and should allow Alfonzo McKinnie to take on a larger role in the wing rotation this evening. DeMarcus Cousins played a season-high 27 minutes in Friday’s win, and he’s still managed to be a consistent source of fantasy value, even though Kerr reiterated that Cousins will still be on a 25-minute restriction through at least the All-Star break.

Wade has had his status upgraded on the most recent version of Heat’s injury report and will be available to play in Sunday’s matchup against the Golden State Warriors despite dealing with a back contusion. Even after injuring his back in Friday’s win, Wade still managed to record 26 minutes off the bench, so he’ll presumably be good to go to absorb his normal minute allotment as the Heat’s sixth man in tonight’s contest. Dion Waiters moved into the starting lineup in favor of Rodney McGruder in the previous game, but he was disappointing from a fantasy perspective in 32 minutes of action, putting him in a stellar position to be a bounce-back candidate in tournaments on tonight’s three-game slate.

Collins has officially been upgraded from probable and will be available to play in Sunday’s matchup against the Orlando Magic despite dealing with right anterior knee pain, while Jaylen Adams will miss a second straight contest with a right ankle sprain, but he’s largely been in the G-League or out of the rotation for a majority of the season. Collins has flashed significant upside in recent games, but he also consistently only sees 27-30 minutes on most nights in head coach Lloyd Pierce’s deep rotation, making him difficult to pinpoint as a viable target in tournament formats. The Hawks have played the Magic just once thus far, and in that contest, Dewayne Dedmon had a monster outing in just 27 minutes, as he recorded a 29.1% usage rate and averaged 1.48 DraftKings and 1.36 FanDuel points per minute.
