Likeliest Candidate
Alec Burks is the likeliest candidate to replace an injured Rodney Hood in the Cavaliers starting lineup and rates as one of the top cash game values of Sunday’s slate. Burks minutes have stabilized in the mid-20’s but he is likely to top 30 minutes with Hood out of the rotation and Burks has been a strong fantasy producer when given minutes.
Good Minutes, Strong Usage
Kris Dunn has worked his way back from injury quickly. Dunn is logging mid-30’s minutes of court time and has benefited nicely as the primary ball-handler and scorer with Zach LaVine out of the lineup. Dunn’s the owner of a 29.8% usage rate when LaVine is off the court this season and his per minute production has been strong averaging well over a fantasy point per minute.
More Minutes at the Five
A healthy Draymond Green’s minutes have seemed to finally stabilize in the mid-30’s and more importantly Green has been logging more time at the center position which has helped boost his rebound totals. Sacramento has struggled against opposing bigs this season allowing the fifth highest field goal percentage at the rim (66.7%) and the fifth highest offensive rebounding rate (28%).
Omari Spellman ruled out for Sunday; Alex Poythress is available to play
John Collins is out Sunday due to an ankle sprain, which opens up a ton in the front-court given the high level Collins has been producing at. It’s likely we see a little more Dewayne Dedmon (although he’s already seeing steady run in close games), Vince Carter, Alex Len and/or Alex Poythress, and Omari Spellman would figure to factor in heavily if he wasn’t also sitting. It’s possible the Hawks try to best match-up against Blake Griffin when choosing the starting four, but they have an extremely thin front-court at the moment, so this sets up as a smash spot for Blake especially. Drummond is also firmly in play against the Hawks.

John Collins out Sunday
John Collins is out Sunday due to an ankle sprain, which opens up a ton in the front-court given the high level Collins has been producing at. As expected Wesley Matthews will start for the Mavs in a key road matchup vs The Warriors. The Mavericks will be without starting point guard Dennis Smith Jr as he is not quite ready to return due to an injured wrist. With three straight games of at least 49 DK points or better rookie, Luka Doncic has been on fire of late and remains a great play in this up-tempo game environment. Smith Jr has not played since the 13th of December and wants to make sure his wrist injury is fully healed before he returns.

Danuel House to start for injured Chris Paul on Saturday.
Danuel House will start tonight for the injured Chris Paul. Playing in a Rockets lineup with a team total of 111 points, House becomes an interesting source of value on the slate. Having yet to show real flashes of a DFS celling, House should be reserved as more of a GPP flyer as he will likely split minutes with Brandon Knight and Michael-Carter Williams.

The already depleted Miami heat will get Justise Winslow back tonight in a tough matchup vs The Bucs. Winslow did not play on Thursday and the Heat will need all hands on deck if they hope to compete at home vs a very talented Bucs team. Winslow will likely start and play with the first unit, but has struggled to bust 20 DK points in his last three games.

After missing the last few games Kyle Lowry returns to the lineup tonight vs The 76’s. Coach Nick Nurse said that everyone who traveled with the team will be available to play tonight. Nurse also announced that Greg Monroe will enter the starting lineup along with Danny Green who missed last nights game. The Raptors will not have Serge Ibaka Kawhi Leonard and Jonas Valanciunas as all three stayed home and did not travel with the team. Always a great point per minute producer, Monroe will draw the daunting task of defending the talented Joel Embid.

Tomas Satoransky will draw the start in Wall’s absence and becomes a great value play on the slate. With the Wizards already down starters Dwight Howard and Otto Porter, much of the team’s offense should move through shooting guard Bradley Beal. Only second to Wall in terms of usage, Beal would most likely soak up the large majority of the usage left in Wall’s absence. Newly acquired Trevor Ariza would also see a bump in usage if Wall were to miss. In his first two games since joining the team, Ariza has logged almost 38 minutes a game while producing 1.1 DK points per minute.

Luckily for us, this game is the first on the slate so we should have news ahead of roster lock. If Wall were to miss then Tomas Satoransky would draw the start and become a great value play on the slate. One night after hurting his ankle, Rose was able to go through some things in today’s practice but remains a game-time call to play on Sunday. Already down starting point guard Jeff Teague, the absence of Rose would create a path for Tyus Jones to play significant minutes.

Allen Crabbe will miss his sixth straight game on Sunday. With the team off until the 26th, this will give Crabbe a few more days to rest his sore knee.

WIth Wilson Chandler out today, Mike Muscala should step into the starting role and play close to 30 minutes. Reasonably priced across the industry Muscala becomes a solid value option as he has always been a decent point per minute producer.

Playing on the second night of a back to back, The Bucks will rest Malcomn Brogden tonight vs The Heat. Tony Snell should draw the start for Brogden and becomes a reasonable value play on the slate. In Snell’s last start he was able to put up 26 DK points in 28 minutes of action. Know more as a defensive player, Snell remains more of a punt celling play with very limited upside. Both George Hill and Sterling Brown should see an uptick in minutes off the Buck bench today.
