Win Or Go Home
The Spurs aren’t beating the Warriors in this series. I think all reasonable minds can agree on this, but the Spurs still have pride and they don’t want to be swept. Look for Rudy Gay to take on a big minute load today to try and make that happen. While his price has gone up around the industry, if we are getting 33-36 minutes of Rudy Gay, he’s still far too cheap.
Value Hard To Come By
There is not much value on this slate at all, which is why I’m writing up Thon. Thon was a huge difference maker in Game 3 with six blocks. While that isn’t sustainable if he gets 3-4 blocks today should help him get to 20 fantasy points, which would be phenomenal considering the lack of value today.
Al Horford is
Milwaukee couldn’t miss a 3-pointer and couldn’t get called for a foul on a block attempt in Game 3, that won’t happen again in Game 4. Al Horford has taken some (unjustified) heat for his max contract, but today is the game why he proves he’s worth it. Look for him to be the center point of the offense early and facilitate out of the middle. This type of flow would give Horford triple-double type upside at this cheap tag.
Fred VanVleet doubtful for Sunday
It’s looking like VanVleet will miss another game, setting up Delon Wright for an extended role off the bench and securing time for Kyle Lowry. Lorenzo Brown will provide depth at the PG spot but doesn’t figure to see more than 8-10 minutes at best unless this one gets really out of hand.
As reported by: Blake MurphyKeep Attacking The Bucks In the Paint
I love Al Horford here. Last game was just an awful game for the Celtics. If this game stays close and is competitive Al Horford will leave his imprint on this game. We have targeted the Bucks all season long with bigs and I am going to continue to do that. Horford is $6900 and I think we get a 40 fantasy point night out of him. At that price it can’t get much better than that.
Risky But Too Cheap
Markieff Morris is one of the best point per dollar plays of the slate. Not many players at $5100 have this kind of upside. I understand the last game was frustrating but I think he bounces back with a nice game here. Even a down game for him at 20 fantasy points wouldn’t kill us and he has upside for 45 fantasy points. The last game was more of an outlier and Morris could end up being a real difference maker in your cash game lineups at this price.
Take The Free Square
LeBron is a free square for me today. He will be in every team that I make around the industry. The Cavs need this win on the road and when they need a win LeBron shows up. He should put up around 60 points and is a great way to close out your night in cash games. Let others get cute and fade LeBron while you profit.
Value off the Bench
We are really starved for value on this three game slate, and I’m not completely ready to trust the likes of JaVale McGee and his 20 minute ceiling. This final core tag was a tough call between Scott and Andre Iguodala, but I’m giving Scott the nod by a hair. He has played at least 26 minutes in every game of this series, so his playing time should be secure at this point. He’s also averaging over 20 fantasy points per game, which is a solid output for his cheap price tag.
Mid-Range Consistency
Lowry is coming off back-to-back solid performances in this series, as he has been right at 40 fantasy points in each of the last two games. While John Wall has seen his price rise throughout the series, the price tag on Lowry hasn’t really moved all that much since Game 1. While Lowry doesn’t have the ceiling that his point guard counterpart does, there’s something to be said for his consistency, and he’s a fine cash game anchor on this three game slate.
Ready to Take Over Again
The Cavs really don’t have anything outside of James right now, so it’s up to him to take over when the team needs a win. They are coming off a tough Game 3 loss where they blew a 17 point lead, so expect LBJ to take over in this pivotal Game 4. He put up 70+ fantasy points after their series opening loss, and I wouldn’t expect anything to change today. James is clearly the top spend on the board today.
Ryan Anderson will play Saturday
Ryan Anderson will return to the Rockets lineup for Game 3 against Minnesota. Anderson hasn’t played since April 3rd, when he injured his ankle. Anderson isn’t a preferred target from tonight, as he will likely see between 16-20 minutes tonight. With Anderson returning, PJ Tucker and Gerald Green will lose some minutes.
As reported by: Courtney Cronin via twitterMaurice Harkless ruled out Saturday, Evan Turner available to play
Maurice Harkless will be out for game 4 versus the Pelicans. Harkless is dealing with an knee injury, he miss game 1, but he had returned for games 2 & 3. The good news for Portland is Evan Turner will be back, he missed game 3 with an toe injury. Look for Turner to start , and see some extra minutes with Harkless out. Shabazz Napier and Pat Connaugton should also see some extra minutes.
As reported by: Brooke Olzendam via twitterCapela The Towns Response
I like the Timberwolves to make a big run in Game 3 back on home court but like most of the regular season games in which Towns went off, the Rockets need Capela to have a big game running successful PnR’s against Towns with Paul/Harden as the ball handlers. They had a ton of success with this in Game 1 but they didn’t need to as much in a Game 2 they controlled most of the way. When the going gets tough in Game 3 I expect the Rockets to run a lot of their formations off the base PnR play which should lead to a big Capela day.
Extra Minutes For Harkless
Coach Terry Stotts was working Harkless back from his knee injury in games 2 and 3 but now with the series at a 3-0 deficit there is no more time for coddling. Harkless is the extra tall, athletic defender they need to try and contain Mirotic and Anthony Davis. I fully expect Harkless to play over 30 minutes today and while Harkless’s usage can vary wildly in 30 minutes he has too much upside to pass up in GPP’s (but there is downside to be sure).
The Series Built For Aminu
Aminu is the perfect long defender needed to guard Mirotic in this series and he’s responded by playing well. I expect nothing to change here in Game 4 and think 30-35 fantasy points is quite likely to occur which is more than fine for his salary industry wide. Also with this be a win or go home scenario I could see him approach 40+ minutes today.
