Lillard Time or Golf Time?
This is it for Damian Lillard, his team is down 0-3, he’s on record with ownership saying the team needs to go farther in the playoffs but that means Lillard as the franchise player needs to show up. This matchup against the Pelicans while tough for Portland on the whole shouldn’t be this hard for Lillard. I expect good Lillard to show up in Game 4 to try and send this series back to Portland.
Playoff Rondo
That’s right Playoff Rondo is back and still crushing it! DraftKings and FanDuel have still not realized this as well. He just keep cranking out big performances and I will continue to plug in my 40 fantasy points. On FanDuel for $7100 he is a lock and going to be in all of my lineups. On DraftKings it is a tougher play because I like Rubio for cheap, Mitchell in same range and even don’t mind spending a little more for Jrue Holiday. He still seems like a good play on DraftKings and I like him in cash but not a lock like he is on FanDuel.
Too Cheap To Ignore
The Jazz won game two and part of their success was from the help of Derrick Favors. I expect them to implement a similar game plan and Favors seems like he has a great floor and a massive ceiling at this price on FanDuel and DraftKings. Favors is simply too cheap and a core play to build around and be overweight on in tournaments. The value is also tough to find below $5000 and I see myself playing a lot of value plays in this range. Favors will be one of them.
Stud That Is Still Too Cheap
Ben Simmons consistently just cranks out 50 point fantasy games all throughout the playoffs. I still think we haven’t seen his best game of this series and I think that comes tonight here in this matchup. He has shown to be better with Embiid on the floor and I think in his second game back they will click. I like his price way more on DraftKings and is a core play that I want to build around among the spend up options.
Top Value on a Four Game Saturday Slate
After a quiet opening game of this series, Favors responded with a sizzling performance in Game 2. He played a whopping 37 minutes in that game, posting a massive line of 20 points and 16 rebounds. His price tag has not been adjusted to reflect that game, and Favors is still a very nice value on every DFS site. Fire him up with confidence in all game formats.
The Minutes Should Be Very Secure Today
Many DFS players will forget about the Wolves after Minnesota got waxed by Houston in Game 2, but the starters should be rested and ready to go as the series shifts to Minnesota. We know Coach Thibodeau will ride his starters for big minutes, and Towns is my favorite play of the bunch. Even though Houston has a solid interior defense. Towns logged lines of 20/18 and 35/12 in the two regular season meetings that were played in Minnesota. I’m expecting 40 minutes here if this game stays close. If you are playing on DK, the price tag is particularly favorable here, but I am fine playing Towns on any site.
The Best Combination of Floor and Ceiling
He is averaging fantasy output in the mid-50’s per game in this series, and New Orleans will be going for the jugular and a four-game sweep. Portland doesn’t have anyone capable of covering him on the interior, as Nurkic simply doesn’t have the physicality to slow Davis down on a possession to possession basis. Nobody on today’s slate can touch Davis’ floor these days, so he’s still the top overall play on the board for cash games.
Malcolm Brogdon is starting Friday
The Bucks will switch things up on Friday for Game 3. Malcolm Brogdon will enter the starting lineup for Tony Snell. With Brogdon starting he is worth a look for your DFS lineups. Brogdon played 32 minutes in the 1st game, but played just 19 minutes last game.
As reported by: Tom Westerholm via twitterJohn Henson officially ruled out Friday
John Henson will miss Friday’s game three versus Boston. Henson is dealing with a back injury, he played 37 minutes in each of the first two games. Tyler Zeller and Thon Maker will split most of Henson’s minutes. Zeller is the preferred option. Jabari Parker should also see an uptick in minutes tonight. He has played just 10 &15 minutes in the first two games of the series.
As reported by: via twitterFred VanVleet ruled out Friday
Fred VanVleet won’t play in game 3 tonight for Toronto versus the Wizards. VanVleet was active last game, but he played just three minutes. He’s dealing with a shoulder injury. With VanVleet out of the lineup, Delon Wright is the main beneficiary, and is the top value play of the night. Wright has been over 30 FDP in each of the 1st two games of this series.
As reported by: Blake Murphy via twitterThe Chalk that Busted
Recency bias is a real thing in DFS. Nobody played Bojan Bogdanovic in Game 1 and he had a big outing. He then became the chalk value play at small forward in Game 2 and he put up a dud. Heading into Game 3, he’s not getting talked up by anyone. We have to look at the bigger picture here. He’s going to play 35+ minutes in a great matchup against the Cavaliers and the fact that he’s playing at home never hurts.
Mid-Range Option at Center
Myles Turner hasn’t been great so far in this series, averaging 26 fantasy points per contest. While that’s a concern, both of those games were played on the road in Cleveland. The encouraging part is that he has played 34 and 35 minutes in those two games. He’s affordable on both FanDuel and DraftKings and has one of the best matchups on the board.
Must Win = Must Play
John Wall and the Wizards find themselves in an 0-2 hole against the Raptors, even though they have been competitive in the first two games. They are essentially in a must-win spot tonight, as no team has ever come back from an 0-3 deficit in the history of the NBA playoffs. Wall is what makes this team go and I’m fully expecting him to show up big in Game 3. He’s my favorite point guard on the board, both overall and on a point-per-dollar basis.
Much Needed Salary Relief On A Three-Game Slate
Scott looks like he is locked in to 26-28 minutes regardless of how the game goes, which makes him a necessary piece of salary relief on a small playoff slate. It certainly helps that JoVal has seen no 4th quarter run through the first two games. It is unclear if that is intentional on behalf of Toronto or just because they held some comfortable leads when it was time for him to come back in. Regardless, I do think Scott has benefitted a little from that. While that uncertainty brings some risk into the equation, we have extremely cheap price tags on him that mitigate that risk. I think he is in play in all formats tonight.
Again Under $6,000 on FD/DK. Again We Should Be Using Him.
Collison performed pretty well in Game 2 at Cleveland, and the price just has not risen enough. I suspected he was going to see more minutes in that game compared to Game 1, and that certainly came to fruition. In a pivotal Game 3 at home, I expect to see more of the same out of Collison. Coach McMillan should lean heavily on his starters. I think we should anticipate low 30’s minutes out of Collison once again, with upside for more. That makes him a great option in all formats at a sub $6k price tag on FD and DK.
