Gerald Green questionable for Boston tonight
Green has come down with an illness and is considered questionable for Boston tonight. If he is unable to go, Marcus Smart should receive a few extra minutes of playing time with James Young perhaps getting an increased role in the rotation.

Jaylen Brown OUT for Boston tonight
Brown will be out through at least the All-Star break with the earliest return date being February 24th. With Jae Crowder back he was not a viable DFS option anyway.

The Magic forward has missed the last two games but has a chance to play tonight as the team has said he will warm up tonight before they make a decision. He did take part in the morning shootaround but would have a tough match up against a Heat team that is top five in the league in terms of fantasy points allowed. There are better spots in tonight’s slate, especially coming off an injury.

Waiters stated coming into today that he was planning on playing and that appears to be the case after he went through the morning shootaround. He’ll warm up tonight with the intention of playing. He’s a viable option going against a suspect Orlando defense and his return is a hit to the value of Wayne Ellington.

Nothing new here – these two have been out for some time now and this is confirmation they will again be sidelined for the Mavericks on Monday night. Both will likely be out at a minimum until the upcoming All Star Break.

Jones and Moore will not play in tonight’s game against the Sacramento Kings after previously being listed on the Pelicans’ injury report with their respective ailments and designations. Dante Cunningham is expected to remain in the starting lineup at power forward in Jones’ place. The sample size is extremely small, but in the three games Jones has missed this season, Anthony Davis has significantly outperformed his salary-based expectations in just under 37 minutes per contest. Additionally, Tyreke Evans has been cleared to play after previously being listed as probable, but he will be limited to just 20 minutes of action this evening. His return to the rotation will likely diminish Tim Frazier’s role significantly, if not altogether, and also steal a substantial amount of usage from Jrue Holiday, effectively limiting his projected ceiling to some extent.

Ty Lawson (strained left hamstring) ruled out tonight
Lawson will not play in tonight’s game against the New Orleans Pelicans after previously being listed as questionable on the Kings’ injury report with a strained left hamstring that has now forced him to miss two consecutive games. The Kings have confirmed that Ben McLemore will replace him in the starting lineup once again. With Lawson officially unavailable, Darren Collison is the only true point guard available for Sacramento and will see all the minutes he can handle with Garrett Temple also remaining sidelined. Collison saw a whopping 43 minutes in the most recent game Lawson was sidelined and should be expected to be in the ballpark of that amount of playing time again this evening, making him a virtual must play on the late slate for an affordable price tag across the industry.

Patterson will not play in tonight’s game against the Detroit Pistons after previously being listed as questionable on the Raptors’ injury report with a left knee contusion that has now forced him to miss four consecutive games. Pascal Siakam had started the last three games at power forward, but Jakob Poeltl will be inserted into the starting lineup tonight, sending Siakam back to the bench to resume a reserve role. Poeltl could be worth a look in tournaments but it remains to be seen how this new Raptors frontcourt rotation shakes out. Lucas Nogueira should continue seeing some extra run off the bench at both the power forward and center spots and he would seemingly be the preferred punt option of the three, as he has averaged just over 23 minutes per contest in the most recent games Patterson has been sidelined. However, if not for the small slate, there would typically be much better value options available at nearly every position.

Zeller has officially been listed as doubtful for tomorrow’s game against the Philadelphia 76ers with a quad contusion that has forced him to miss eight of the last nine games. Frank Kaminsky should be expected to draw the start at center once again in his absence with Miles Plumlee absorbing a majority of the backup center minutes. Zeller, along with Marvin Williams, would become fine options on Monday’s slate, assuming Zeller is ruled out, considering each will likely see north of 30 minutes for what should be reasonable price tags across the industry.

Jimmy Butler, Dwyane Wade, Nikola Mirotic, and Paul Zipser all will not play in today’s game against the Minnesota Timberwolves due to their respective ailments. Which means Chicago will officially be down to just 10 available players for Sunday’s contest. The Bulls have announced that Doug McDermott and Michael Carter-Williams will replace Butler and Wade in the starting lineup. McDermott was the seemingly logical choice to take over at small forward since Paul Zipser (illness) has traditionally started alongside Carter-Williams in the previous games Wade and Butler have jointly missed. Unfortunately, there is a minuscule sample size with the aforementioned players off the court this season, but McDermott leads the team in this scenario with a positive 8.3% usage rate differential (26.8%), while Robin Lopez, Denzel Valentine, and Taj Gibson see the biggest increases in their fantasy point per minute production.

Noah will not play in today’s game against the San Antonio Spurs due to a sore left hamstring that has now forced him to miss four consecutive games. Despite Kristaps Porzingis sliding over to the starting center spot on Friday, Guillermo Hernangomez will take over at center in the Knicks starting lineup given the matchup with San Antonio, which sends Brandon Jennings back to the bench to resume his reserve role. Additionally, Lance Thomas will make his return to the Knicks rotation today after a 14 game absence due to a fractured left orbital bone. His role in the rotation will definitely still need to be determined considering how much progress Mindaugas Kuzminskas has made seeing regular playing time on a nightly basis. Both players can be ignored for daily fantasy purposes until one or the other reclaims a majority of the backup forward minutes behind Porzingis and Carmelo Anthony.
