Brandon Jennings confirmed as starter for Derrick Rose (ankle) today
Rose will not play in today’s game against the Atlanta Hawks due to a sprained left ankle he sustained in Friday’s win over the Charlotte Hornets. Brandon Jennings will replace Rose in the Knicks starting lineup, as expected, and has averaged 33 minutes per contest in the five games Rose has missed this season. Jennings also draws one of the best individual matchups a point guard can have against Dennis Schroder, cementing him as one of the top value options on the All Day and Early slates. According to our CourtIQ tool, Carmelo Anthony leads the Knicks by a wide margin with a 7.3% usage rate differential (39.1%) while averaging over 42 fantasy points per 36 minutes, easily exceeding salary-based expectations on both FanDuel and DraftKings. Clearly, Anthony is a high-floor, high-ceiling option in an afternoon matchup with this Thabo Sefolosha-less Atlanta Hawks defensive unit.

Tyler Johnson (strained left shoulder) questionable for Monday
Johnson has been listed as questionable for tomorrow’s game against the Brooklyn Nets with a strained left shoulder that has forced him to miss five consecutive games. Goran Dragic and Dion Waiters continue to carry the load for Miami sans Johnson and Josh Richardson and should be expected to once again should Johnson be ruled out Monday. Additionally, Wayne Ellington has taken over Johnson’s combo guard role off the bench and has averaged just over 33 minutes per contest in the last five games Johnson has been sidelined, meaning, if Johnson is unable to suit up, Ellington will be in a good spot to provide some value in a fantastic, pace up matchup with Brooklyn.

Sefolosha will not play in today’s game against the New York Knicks due to a left groin injury. Tim Hardaway Jr. will draw the start at the shooting guard spot in his place, sliding Kent Bazemore down to small forward. Mike Dunleavy, Malcolm Delaney, and possibly even Taurean Prince should be expected to pick up additional minutes off the bench as well. Hardaway Jr. becomes a particularly intriguing fantasy option, especially in tournaments on the All Day slates, as he benefits from a fantastic matchup with the Knicks backcourt defense.

Okafor is considered questionable for tonight’s game against the Chicago Bulls and looks to be a true game-time decision as he continues to deal with a sore right knee. Okafor had been available to play in Friday’s loss to the Houston Rockets but was demoted to third-string center with Joel Embiid back from injury and ultimately did not play. Regardless of Okafor’s status, Nerlens Noel will draw the start at center and averaged 28 minutes per contest in the two games Embiid missed earlier in the week, so he should be expected to take over Embiid’s role in the rotation once again. If Okafor is ruled out, Noel would become a virtual must play on FanDuel at $4.7K but is still a viable option on DraftKings, just a ton less appealing with a $6.3K price tag.

Gordon will play in tonight’s game against the Indiana Pacers after being forced to miss two consecutive games with lower back tightness. His return to the rotation will significantly reduce Corey Brewer’s role and minutes. There will also be less usage and less extra playing time to go around for supporting players like Patrick Beverley, Trevor Ariza and Ryan Anderson with Gordon now officially available and cleared to play. Gordon could be worth a look in tournaments given the plus matchup and game environment, but he has really struggled of late, which can probably be attributed to his lingering back problems.

Daniels will reportedly be available to play in tonight’s game against the Utah Jazz after previously being listed as out on the Grizzlies’ injury report with a Grade 1 MCL sprain in his right knee that had forced him to miss two consecutive games. Daniels’ presence in the rotation will take away some additional playing time from Vince Carter and Andrew Harrison, but neither were really seeing enough minutes to make them fantasy viable anyway. Daniels had been in front of Harrison in the rotation prior to his injury, so it remains to be seen if Grizzlies’ head coach David Fizdale will revert to the old rotation or leave Harrison as the primary guard off the bench.

Favors will be rested and won’t play in tonight’s game against the Memphis Grizzlies. He will be replaced in the starting lineup by Trey Lyles at power forward. Lyles will likely step directly into Favors role in the rotation, though Boris Diaw could see a few extra minutes as well. Lyles would remain the preferred target of the two on the late slate if looking to go in that direction, but the matchup is less than stellar in a pace down matchup with Memphis.

Bender will not play in tonight’s game against the Denver Nuggets after previously being listed as questionable on the Suns’ injury report with a sore right ankle that has now forced him to miss four consecutive games. His absence from the rotation will free up some additional playing time for P.J. Tucker and to some extent Marquese Chriss and Alex Len. However, the former remains the primary forward to target in the Phoenix frontcourt outside of T.J. Warren and Tyson Chandler. The Suns will also have an excuse to run out more three-guard lineups, making Brandon Knight an intriguing tournament punt at the shooting guard spot.

Daniels and Wright will not be available to play in tonight’s game against the Utah Jazz after previously being listed as questionable on the Grizzlies’ injury report with their respective lower body ailments. Daniels’ absence from the rotation will free up some additional playing time for Vince Carter and Andrew Harrison, but neither will see enough minutes to make them fantasy viable. As for Wright, he has yet to play in a game this season, so his unavailability will obviously not affect the Grizzlies’ rotation whatsover. Wright is nearing a return but will miss at least one more game before making his season debut.

Booker will play in tonight’s game against the Minnesota Timberwolves after previously being listed as questionable on the Nets’ injury report due to an illness that forced him to miss Friday’s loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers. His return to the lineup will send Rondae Hollis-Jefferson back to the bench, along with Justin Hamilton, as both will resume their reserve roles with Brook Lopez returning from a one-game absence due to rest as well. Lopez remains the primary Nets player to target, especially on DraftKings, as he seems to be the one player that plays relatively consistent minutes for this Nets squad.

Johnson will not play in tonight’s game against the Detroit Pistons after previously being listed as questionable on the Heat’s injury report with a strained left shoulder that has now forced him to miss five consecutive games. With Johnson officially ruled out, his absence in the rotation enhances the cash game viability of both Goran Dragic and Dion Waiters, though Dragic draws the best individual matchup of the two and is more appropriately priced for his expected role this evening.

Curry is expected to play in tonight’s game against the Los Angeles Clippers after previously being listed as questionable on the Warriors’ injury report due to left lateral quad soreness. Warriors head coach Steve Kerr referred to Curry’s quad injury as minor and thinks he will play Saturday. With Curry likely to suit up, the remaining members of the big four, Kevin Durant, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green, become much less intriguing options for tonight’s slate, as the likelihood of a blowout against the Chris Paul-less Clippers becomes that much greater.

Horford will not play in tonight’s game against the Milwaukee Bucks after previously being listed as questionable on the Celtics’ injury report with a groin injury that has now forced him to miss two consecutive games. Amir Johnson will slide over to center in place of Horford, while Jonas Jerebko remains in the starting lineup at power forward. Kelly Olynyk will be the primary big man off the bench for Boston and joins Johnson and Jerebko as viable punt options in tournaments. With Horford and Avery Bradley off the court this season, Jae Crowder (22.2%) and Isaiah Thomas (39.1%) both own usage rate differentials north of 3.7%, making them both fantastic options in all formats this evening.
