Maurice Harkless (ankle) ruled out tonight
Harkless will not play in tonight’s game against the Memphis Grizzlies after previously being listed as questionable on the Trail Blazers injury report with a sprained left ankle. Blazers coach Terry Stotts could several directions with the starting lineup this evening, though Allen Crabbe or Evan Turner are likeliest to draw the start at small forward in his place. However, it’s not out of the realm of possibility for Ed Davis to be inserted in the starting lineup at power forward, sliding Al-Farouq Aminu over to small forward. Aminu will remain on a minutes restriction of 16-20 minutes, so regardless of starting lineup, there will be a plethora of extra minutes on the wing to go around for Crabbe and Turner.

Robert Covington (knee) returns to the starting lineup in place of Nik Stauskas
Covington will be reinserted into the starting lineup for tonight’s game against the New Orleans Pelicans, sending Nik Stauskas back to the bench to resume his reserve role. Covington won’t have a set minutes restriction in his return from injury, but will reportedly have his minutes monitored by the Sixers coaching staff. He can safely be ignored in all formats with the uncertainty surrounding his workload. Joel Embiid and Sergio Rodriguez still remain the top targets in the starting unit of this Sixers squad and can be utilized in all formats.

Jrue Holiday (toe) and E'Twaun Moore (toe) ruled out for tonight
Holiday and Moore will not play in tonight’s game against the Philadelphia 76ers after being listed as questionable on the Pelicans” injury report with separate toe injuries. They both were sidelined in the Pelicans’ previous game forcing Tim Frazier and Buddy Hield into the starting lineup. Frazier and Hield should be expected to start in their place once again at point guard and shooting guard respectively. However, Langston Galloway was actually the Pelicans guard that ended up outperforming the starters with 36 minutes off the bench. All three of the aforementioned guards are in consideration against an exploitable Sixers defense, though Frazier and Galloway are the preferred targets due to their minute floors and potential ceilings.

Carroll will play in tonight’s game against the Minnesota Timberwolves and be rested in tomorrow night’s games against the Boston Celtics. He was previously reported as questionable for tonight due to the fact he was expected to rest either tonight or Friday. This is just part of the maintenance plan the Raptors currently have in place for Carroll and we should expect this type of news in back-to-back situations for the foreseeable future.

Millsap has officially been listed as probable for tomorrow night’s game against the Milwaukee Bucks, though he is fully expected to play after suiting up for the Hawks previous two games with the same hip injury. He played well in both contests and has amazing matchup with the Bucks exploitable frontcourt defense, assuming he is ultimately good to go Friday.

Isaiah Thomas will miss Friday’s contest against the Raptors but is traveling with the team. Marcus Smart is expected to start again in his place. Smart did not have a huge game but it was partially due to the Celtics destroying the Magic. Terry Rozier took advantage of the garbage time run and should see ownership go in his direction for Friday. Smart remains the preferred cash option as long as his salary stays under $5k.

The Nets released Yogi Ferrell and signed Spencer Dinwiddie to take his place. Dinwiddie is a solid backup guard option and this does not bode well for the prospects of Jeremy Lin’s hamstring.

The Grizzlies are listing Marc Gasol as questionable for tonight’s contest against the Blazers. Gasol is dealing with a groin issue and the Grizzlies could start Zach Randolph or Jarell Martin if Gasol is ruled out. We don’t have any further updates but the entire Memphis offense would get a bump as well as Portland’s. Since Gasol is their defensive anchor, Mason Plumlee would see the biggest bump from the Blazers side if Gasol is out. Damian Lillard would also have less resistance at the hoop but he’s been a strong GPP option for this contest.

The Lakers have ruled out backup center Tarik Black from Friday’s contest against the Suns. Timofey Mozgov and Thomas Robinson were not able to take advantage of the slight bump in minutes due to Black’s absence. Mostly, the Lakers played really poorly and the entire team was a letdown sans Julius Randle. If the Lakers decide to play small with the Suns, Randle could see some extra minutes at the backup C position. Also, with the Suns having Tyson Chandler heavily with the first unit, expect for Mozgov to see his minutes near 25 minutes.

Vince Carter will miss his sixth consecutive game tonight and we can expect Troy Williams to start and play nearly 30 minutes. Even with all the minutes that Williams has been playing, he’s shown that his game lacks GPP upside. He looks like a safe cash game play that has seen his salary drop slightly on DraftKings. His salary is at a season-high $4.2k on FanDuel and he’s returned 4x or greater in every game that he has started. Don’t expect a ton out of Williams but feel confident he’ll hit his floor if you land on him tonight.

Shaun Livingston will not play in Utah tonight and we can expect Ian Clark and Patrick McCaw to see a slight bump in minutes. Both players could see extended run if this game gets out of hand but are too risky to trust in cash games because a lot of things have to break in their favor. You’re better off using the Jazz punt options if you are looking for a second guard. No other Warriors were mentioned as resting at this time but we will continue to monitor this situation and provide any updates that come across the wire.

The Trail Blazers forward sprained his ankle last night in their loss to the Bucks and is listed as questionable for their game against Memphis tonight. With it being a back-to-back, there’s a strong chance he won’t play tonight so stay tuned for any updates later in the day on his status. Evan Turner would likely benefit the most if Harkless is unable to play.
