D'Angelo Russell (knee) ruled out for tonight; no starter named in his place yet
D’Angelo Russell has been ruled out due to knee soreness. No starter has been named in place yet and Jose Calderon started the last game that Russell was out. We can hope that Jordan Clarkson will start against the Thunder because Calderon can’t stay with Russell Westbrook for even 2 seconds. Clarkson should be an elite option if he starts with Lou Williams also seeing a bump in value with Russell out of the lineup. Nick Young is a viable punt play as well since he is cheaper than both Clarkson and Williams.

Terrence Jones (illness) expected to play tonight
Jones is expected to play in tonight’s game against Atlanta after being listed as questionable earlier in the day with an illness. Jones missed shootaround this morning, so it’s mildly surprising that he will suit up for this contest. If Jones continues to see reserve minutes, he is better reserved as a tournament-only option, given his questionable tag and inflated price point around the industry. This Pelicans rotation is currently influx with the return of Jrue Holiday, making it difficult to really feel comfortable about rostering any Pelican outside of Holiday and Anthony Davis at the moment.

Noah will not play in tonight’s game against Portland after being listed as doubtful on the Knicks’ injury report with an illness that kept him out of Sunday’s game as well. Kyle O’Quinn will likely draw the start at center once again in his absence. O’Quinn will be a popular option this evening, but it’s warranted, as he leads the Knicks in fantasy points per minute (1.34 DraftKings, 1.28 FanDuel) when Noah and Lance Thomas have been off the court this season. He has done this to a tune of a solid 24.9% usage rate, which is 3.2% higher than his season average. If O’Quinn can stay out of foul trouble (a big if), he should have no problem crushing value in this spot.

Sefolosha will reportedly play in tonight’s game against New Orleans. He was active for Sunday’s contest against the Knicks, but was ultimately a DNP-CD. His return to the rotation is knock to the fantasy outlook of Kyle Korver and, to a lesser extent, Kent Bazemore, while Taurean Prince will most likely be phased out of the regular rotation all together. Sefolosha can easily be avoided in all formats until we have more insight on his health and this updated Hawks’ rotation.

As reported by: Stefan Bondy James Ennis (calf) expected to miss two weeks
Ennis has been ruled out in advance of tomorrow night’s game against Philadelphia with a right calf strain. He will reportedly miss at least two weeks and won’t be reevaluated again until that time. Vince Carter took over for Ennis in Monday’s contest at small forward and is a leading candidate to start Wednesday. With Chandler Parsons also out for an extended period of time, the Grizzlies could also opt to start Andrew Harrison or Troy Daniels, if they prefer to keep Vinsanity in a reserve role. This is certainly a major story line to follow heading into Wednesday night’s slate.

Zeller has been listed as questionable for tomorrow night’s game against San Antonio with a shoulder injury that has kept him sidelined for the Hornets’ previous two games. Zeller did not participate in practice today, so he is probably closer to doubtful for Wednesday than his questionable designation would suggest. If he were to be inactive, Roy Hibbert should draw the start at center once again, but will likely continue to have his minutes monitored, meaning Frank Kaminsky will look to take advantage of the extra minutes available and owns a respectable 23.4% usage rate with Zeller off the court this season. He has been able to convert that usage into solid fantasy point per minute production and could remainan under the radar tournament flier.

Justise Winslow will miss his 5th consecutive game due to a wrist injury. Dion Waiters and Josh Richardson have picked up the slack while Winslow has been out but Waiters was limited in practice today. If Waiters also misses the game, expect Josh Richardson and Tyler Johnson to see more usage. We’ll have to look for an update on Waiters tomorrow. Willie Reed and Wayne Ellington have both been ruled out of Wednesday’s contest. Since Reed is Whiteside’s backup, we can expect Whiteside to see a slight uptick in minutes and Udonis Haslem get used as his backup.

Joe Johnson’s status is in question for Wednesday’s game against the Nuggets after he missed practice due to an illness. Johnson’s minutes have fluctuated since Gordon Hayward has been back for the Jazz. If Johnson is not able to go, expect Hayward to see 32-36 minutes with Joe Ingles being used as his backup. George Hill’s return took a favorable turn today in practice, as he was seen using his right hand while dribbling and shooting. He was previously not able to do it with a ton of discomfort. Hill has missed the past 8 games due to the injury and would be an elite option tomorrow against the Nuggets if he does return. His ownership will be extremely low and he’ll likely go back to play 32+ minutes since the injury did not keep him for staying conditioned. Hill is averaging 32.8 FDFP on the season and had a season-high 42.9 the game he got injured.

The injury depleted Dallas Mavericks could be getting healthier soon as three of their key players took part in the team practice today. It was Harris’s first time running full court drills all season. Head Coach Rick Carlisle stated Nowitzki is close to returning but Williams status is still a little more up in the air. Harris isn’t expected to rejoin the team for at least another week. We’ll update you prior to the Mavericks next game on the playing status of Nowitzki and Williams.

Dwyane Wade will play tonight after resting on Sunday
The future Hall-of-Famer sat out the Bulls last game due to rest but will play today when the Bulls face the Nuggets. He’s arguably the best SG option on this small four game slate facing a Nuggets team that is dead last in SG DvP.

The 2nd year Lakers PG missed the team shootaround this morning but Head Coach Luke Walton said that does not preclude him from playing tonight against the Thunder. Jose Calderon would likely get the start if Russell sits and would be a value option on the small four game slate. He’ll of course have to face Russell Westbrook who should have his way with the Lakers and will almost certainly be the highest-owned player in GPP’s tonight. We’ll update you later tonight when we know for sure whether D’Angelo is playing or not.
