Rudy Gay (ribs) officially ruled out tonight
Gay was previously listed as doubtful for tonight’s game against Milwaukee with strained rib cartilage, and has now been downgraded to out. In Gay’s absence, Matt Barnes or Omri Casspi will likely draw the start at small forward, thought it’s entirely possible that they both find their way into the starting lineup, pushing Kousta Koufos to the bench, since the Bucks start Jabari Parker at power forward. Casspi returned from an illness last game and immediately reversed roles with Barnes, accumulating 23 minutes compared to Barnes’ nine. Casspi seems to be our preferred target this evening, though both should be viable in tournaments at the very least.

Parsons has been confirmed as the Grizzlies’ starting small forward for tomorrow’s game against Portland. Parsons will make his season debut Sunday after previously being expected to miss at least one more game. His return will presumably bump James Ennis from the starting lineup. Parsons’ minutes are all but guaranteed to be closely monitored by the Grizzlies’ coaching staff for an extended period of time, as they will want to be ultra careful with their prized off-season free agent signing upon his return.

Olynyk has officially been listed as questionable for tomorrow’s game against the Nuggets, though it seems unlikely he will actually play. With Al Horford also already ruled out, Amir Johnson and Tyler Zeller will continue to provide fantasy value in their absences.

Rick Carlisle is quickly vaulting himself into contention for the most hated NBA coach among daily fantasy players, as he claimed Williams was “questionable at best” prior to yesterday’s game against Portland. Williams went on to only play a whopping 37 minutes in the loss. However, Williams reportedly suffered a different injury to his left calf, and is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against Milwaukee. With Dirk Nowitzki already ruled out for the next week, J.J. Barea and Seth Curry will likely be inserted into the starting five, if Williams is actually unable to go. This would fit the trend of Carlisle rolling with a three-guard starting lineup when one of Nowitzki or Andrew Bogut are ruled out. Speaking of Bogut, he will be available to play Sunday after missing last night’s game due to personal reasons. Wesley Matthews is also expected to play after briefly leaving Friday’s game with a knee injury.

Horford did not participate in team practice today and will not suit up for Sunday’s game against Denver. Horford was reportedly seen working out on his own, which is a good sign that he is at least progressing through the concussion protocol despite not being cleared as of now. In the absence of Horford and Jae Crowder on Thursday, Jaylen Brown was the beneficiary that saw the biggest boost to his minutes (35 minutes) and usage rate (21.0%). Brown remains an intriguing daily fantasy option while both players remain sidelined.

Hayward is expected to play in tomorrow’s game against New York, after missing every game so far this season with a broken finger. It has yet to be confirmed whether Hayward will immediately replace Joe Johnson at small forward in the starting lineup and/or if he will be on any type of minutes restriction. We would have to assume that Hayward won’t have any sort of a strict minutes limit, considering he was only recovering from a broken bone in his finger and not an injury that would prohibit his ability to remain in basketball shape. This is a situation we should receive more clarification on as we get approach the actual game time.

According to Wizards coach Scott Brooks, Satoransky is likely to start at point guard in place of Wall tonight against the Magic. This move was fairly predictable, as Satoransky played nearly 23 minutes at backup point guard in last night’s game against Toronto, while Trey Burke logged just under seven minutes. Satoransky is shaping up to be one of the best value plays on the board in all formats, and a near lock in cash games, if he does indeed draw the start at point guard for Washington against the horrendous Orlando Magic defense.

As reported by: Jason Jones Gary Harris will play tonight with a 15-20 minutes restriction
Harris had previously been listed as doubtful for tonight’s game against Detroit but will now be available to play after going through shootaround this morning. Nuggets coach Mike Malone expects to keep Harris limited to 15-20 minutes this evening, though it remains unclear whether Harris will draw the start or come off the bench in a reserve role. With Will Barton (ankle) also already ruled out, there are certainly some extra wing minutes available for the likes of Wilson Chandler, Jameer Nelson, and Jamal Murray. Though, the return of Harris does downgrade Chandler and Nelson to tournament-only plays. Murray is entirely out of consideration for any format until he proves he is actually able to produce in the minutes he is given at the NBA level.

Wizards Head Coach, Scott Brooks has has already ruled out John Wall for Saturday’s contest against the Orlando Magic. This should mean a boost for Bradley Beal who had a 28 point performance tonight against the Atlanta Hawks. Tomas Satoransky and Trey Burke should both see time at the Point Guard slot with Wall sidelined. Satoransky is worth a look in GPPs with a cheap price across the industry.

Patrick McCaw (ankle) ruled out tonight
Patrick McCaw missed last night’s game against the Oklahoma City Thunder as expected. It was looking like he might give it a go tonight but will now rest over the weekend and likely make his return on Monday against the New Orleans Pelicans. McCaw’s handful of minutes will most likely go to backup Point Guard, Shaun Livingston.

Timofey Mozgov will return to the starting lineup tonight for the Lakers contest against the Golden State Warriors. This means that rookie, Ivica Zubac will return to his reserve role as the backup Center along with Tarik Black. This game could get out of hand quickly and none of these guys will see enough minutes to be a serviceable DFS play tonight.

The Mavericks will start Deron Williams, J.J. Barea, Wesley Matthews, Harrison Barnes, and Dirk Nowitizki tonight against Portland. Barea should end up in the 30-minute range this evening, while Seth Curry, Justin Anderson, and Dwight Powell stand to benefit from additional playing time in the absence of Bogut and Nowitzki already having his minutes monitored

Andrew Bogut (personal) ruled out
Bogut won’t play in tonight’s game against Portland, as he deals with a personal matter. There has been no official word as to who will draw the start in his place, though it will likely be Dwight Powell or Salah Mejri starting at center if the Mavericks decide to run out a traditional starting five. It’s also entirely possible coach Rick Carlisle decides to roll with a three-guard lineup, inserting J.J. Barea into the starting lineup and sliding Harrison Barnes and Dirk Nowitzki to the four and five respectively. We will continue to monitor the situation and provide any updates should they become available.
